Everything we needed.

Easy access to site although the road to it was poor (at time of writing it's being repaired). A nice little site although it had 7 pitches not 5 and was just tucked behind a Laurel hedge to the bigger caravan park. Having said that because it was November, it was lovely and quiet (apart from the last night when a MoHo turned up next to us at 11pm!!!!) Shower and toilet available just a short walk away. Neil was on site if he was needed and Sally on reception was most friendly and helpful - suggesting the most amazing fish and chips at The Marina in Chapel St. Leonards - EXCELLENT! The weather was terrible with heavy rains and our pitch was under water a lot of the time, although it did eventually drain away. Not a fan of Skegness which was tired, tacky and tatty, but this was really just an en-route stop for us.

Nice, but not for us, not a CL

The Owners are great, fantastic welcome. The "CL" is on the right after the workshop. Lovely pitches, with hardstanding and grass. The facilities are really good, well maintained and everything is clean and tidy. If you like commercial sites, this is perfect, the kids can play and the walks around the site is great. However, this is not a CL, There were at least 8 pitches in our section, plus another grassed area through ours with another 4 vans on it. Not that I mind dogs, but the yapping did get tiring, especially the house between the site and the main road, the owners had one large dog and a yappy one, that like to speak out! Traffic driving through the area we were in to get to the grassed area were not observing the 10mph limit! Someone on the "estate" area had a kit car made with a motorcycle engine, and he enjoyed letting us hear the OTT exhaust. I'm moaning, but the site is great if you like the large type sites, and of its type, its probably one of the best in the area. Unfortunately, not for us, we saw the CL area, and thought it was a separate area, but its not, its one massive site, separated by the sections of hedge, which allows for the van owners to wander around your pitch, to get to other areas. As I say, if you like busy sites, probably the best around, But not for us.

Good overnight location

Only spent one night as a quick weekend getaway. Well run and friendly owners. Toilets and shower rooms were well maintained and clean, a bonus point from me. Don’t like the 50p machine idea for the shower but not a real issue (especially as I had some change). Their is food bar (Munch Box) on site, We didn’t use it, but plenty did, and the menu looked good. To some might be a blessing on a quick stop over if you don’t want to cook and fancy a snack. Local lakes for fishing onsite, not my scene but looked tranquil. Disappointingly the dog walk was just a single mown track along the side of the campsite. Peaceful but pity didn’t go further and not a great deal on the scenery but hey, that’s just the location not a site fault. That all said, if we were that way, most certainly could stay again.

Fabulous Well Maintained Site

Lincolnshire is a new area for us but having found it so difficult to make any bookings anywhere this year, I chanced upon this site one cold wet Sunday afternoon and made an on line booking for 14 nights. The on line booking system was incredibly easy to use and we welcomed the opportunity to pay a £20.00 deposit prior to our arrival. Why on earth all CAMC sites don't insist upon this, I have no idea...but I digress. Having some of the reviews of the site, we weren't really sure what to expect and although i agree with some of the fellow reviewers about the state of the suggested final approach road recommended by the CAMC, I think other comments are outdated. We stayed on a hard standing pitch on the Certificated Location part of the site. It had its own electricity point and the fresh water and chemical disposal point was in very close proximity. Our pitch accommodated our car and caravan and there was room to pitch our Kampa awning. The pitch was totally flat and immaculately kept. We were in a bay of two caravans surrounded by laurel hedges. The site itself was very quiet - no signs or evidence of chickens at all - and the facilities were superbly maintained - always clean and properly maintained. The CL has its own little facility block consisting of two toilets and washbasins, one of which also contains a very spacious shower (50p for a very adequate supply of hot water) although there are additional facility blocks elsewhere on the park which you are welcome to use. There is also a laundry room and an on site snack van providing a variety of drinks and snacks during the day. There were nice walks to the two fishing lakes on site and we took advantage of the location to visit some interesting places that we found worthy of a viste. These included Lincoln Cathedral, the huge Saturday car boot sale at Stickney and the Clare Boam Antique Centre at Horncastle. "Skegvegas" isn't really our type of place but we enjoyed walking along the prom and found great beaches at Huttoft Car Terrace and Anderby Creek. The owners were pleasant and helpful without being intrusive and the site was superb value for money. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return in the future. Two points worthy of consideration: We'd recommend avoiding the approach road by driving into Skegness and then taking the A52 to Ingoldmells, turning left at the Green Acres campsite. It's a much better road! We'd also suggest to fellow members staying on the CL to note which of the two water hoses at the water point is used to fill the Aquaroll - the other being used to rinse out the Wastemaster and chemical toilet. There are signs .....but they are not very big and in our opinion, are not sited in the best position. Such minor observations, should not detract from the qualities the site has to offer. It is a real credit to the owners and well worth a visit.

What a change!

We last visited this site in 2007 when it really was a 5 van site! I agree with aalg425 about all the changes, it really is part and parcel of what is now a commercial site. Members booking on the CL can use all the site facilities. Nevertheless it is a well run site which, if visiting the area, I would use again in spite of the £25p.n charge over the school holidays for my large motorhome . It is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal attractions not to be inconvenient. In my view the site is best accessed via Orby and Addlethorpe from the A158. If coming from the A52 I would also come through Addlethorpe.

Positives and negatives......

Whilst we have stayed here before (reviewed August 2015) - to see the changes this summer was amazing. The owners have worked really hard to create a clean, well serviced and friendly site. However - the club handbook does not make mention that the CL here is adjacent to a large commercial site. And, as per previous reviews, the CL is set up for 9 pitches (we had 7 on for a couple of nights during our stay). In saying this - the pitches are well spaced, level and have easy access to the service point. There are toilets available to use and showers / laundry and a small cost. Easy access to all of Skegness' attractions. The road in from the A158 is a little hair-raising in places - very uneven!! So - great site, but not necessarily a tranquil CL if that's what you're looking for!

A disappointment.

This was indeed very lovely site with beautifully laid out hard standing pitches. Very friendly welcoming owners. However, for us, it was a disappointment. The quoted charge per day is £16 but this refers to caravans. Motorhomes are charged £25, though we managed to get this down to £22 after speaking to the owner Neil. We apparently use more electric and fill our big water tanks up! As always, and as the Club says, check the price when you book, do not rely on the quoted figures. I wish we'd checked.

Great site.

Very easy to book this site getting quick response from the owners. The website for this site shows an impressive site, and it is, but remember, you will be booking a pitch on the CL section of this site, which, I have to say met all of our expectations. Yes there are 2 lakes to the rear of the site used for fishing, but this did not show any increase in traffic to and fro etc. In between the 2 lakes and the CL site is a very nice and neatly laid out section used for non CL members and seasonal pitches. These are all on hard standings hair out in neat sections with laurel hedging etc. There is free use of a clean toilet & shower block on this section too if you wish. The CL itself is very very nice. There is a choice of hard standings with 1 grass pitch. All are spacious and flat with plenty of room between them. There are 2 very clean wc's available, one with an electric shower enclosure taking 50p coins which last for ages. Overall the site is very clean, quiet, yet near to all the coast's offerings. We found the CL site to be most welcoming on the eye as we entered, the owners obvious hard work showed on the neatly cut grass and trimmed hedges. Mind the free roaming chickens tho, they do just that.

Not strictly a CL

Visited just after Christmas and stopped until just after New Year, The site isnt far from Skegness and all it attractions, but its a car journey not a walk. The Owners are putting in a Commercial site with lots of seasonal hardstandings and there is a couple of lakes where you will be able to fish, and it looks like it will be lovely. When we booked i was asked if i didnt mind being away from everybody, and having seen the pictures on here thought we would be on the pitch on its own, which i would have loved. I rang before we arrived and the owners said if they werent in we were on pitch 9. When we arrived pitch 9 was looking directly onto the storage area nowhere near the lovely grass and hardstandings that are shown n the pictures. Dissappointed hardly describes my feeling! After expressing this we were allowed to use one of the hardstandings put in for the seasonal pitches looking onto the lakes. We had a lovely stay, didnt use the facilites so cant comment on them. They have some resident free range chickens who are very friendly and visited us serveral times a day, As mentioned by a previous post im not quite sure this can be classed as a CL with 9 ptiches, but overall it was ok.

The Laurels

What a little gem, stayed from Sept 10th-14th, the peace on this site is great, if anyone likes fishing they will be in paradise with two very large ponds that seem to be well stocked, tucked out in the countryside away from all the noise and traffic. We were made very welcome and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
