Brilliant site for Ironbridge

A nice site in a beautiful area. Please use the truck route off the Bridgenorth much Wenlock road. Two hard standings and three grass pitches with superb views. Ideal site for the Iron bridge and museums. Needs a little tlc in the information room. Birdsong was a great background noise. Would definitely recommend and visit again in better weather. We were there for storm Kathleen.

A Star of CL

his is not a highly manicured CL with sharp cut hedges, grass and pitches, but it is delightful and true to the original ethos of CLs. Booking was via email/phone within 24 hours with Laura who is a really nice friendly lady. On arrival her Mum was about to point us in right direction, and was charming too. It is a lovely little field with a patch of hardstanding area at entrance with room for two units. We imagine in Summer when you can use the grass pitches, it would be even more glorious. The far reaching views are magnificent. The 'crazy' sheep in the meadows next door were highly entertaining. It was so quiet despite partly being next to a village residential street and just off the B road. The CDP did take bit of finding (on end of modern house under window on right as go out of CL gate) but it was no issue. It is literally a mile from campsite gate to stepping on the Ironbridge so convenient and easy. Although as another review said it is steep walk back but it is nature of the location. Broseley the town which is probably less than a mile along the B road from CL is brilliant - it is utterly charming with so much to see and do plus offering all the basics - small supermarket, post office, butchers, fruit/veg shop, pub, take away, even laundrette, bus to Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock, and lovely sculpture trail around town. Highly recommend the cafe/bakery 'Wyld Flour' - awesome full English cooked breakfast plus immense selection of cakes as well as a Broseley bread stick - won't spoil it - go and buy one! Also a walk around 'The Jitties' is fascinating including Ding Dong Steps especially if you nosey and interested in lovely houses/homes. A really wonderful CL,

Lovely Views and Made Very Welcome

Sadly Lynda who runs this CL has been unwell, but her daughter Laura was our point of contact and looked after us very well indeed. The Leopard has some hardstanding pitches and some grass, but being on top of a hill it is well drained. The price per night included EHU and was very reasonable in our opinion. On our second visit we took our dog and she loved the site and some of the walks on nearby Wenlock Edge. We stayed on two separate occasions whilst my wife was attending workshops in nearby Ironbridge, and certainly hope to return again.

Tranquility at its best

Sadly the site owner was poorly so a friend greeted us when we arrived. The pitch we had been told to go on was in use but this was not an issue as I think where we went offered a better view down the valley. It was well drained grass pitch with EHU and well cut grass surrounding all the pitches. We were running a bit blind but found the toilet waste disposal and the fresh water. The information room was a bit tired with dated information so I was glad I had downloaded a walk from Benthall Hall a near by NT property. We made our way to Benthall Hall and followed the walk to Ironbridge. A challenging walk at times but well worth it and Ironbridge was worth a visit, with many cafes & museums. As we had our dog with us we did not visit the museum, later we found it was closed due to flooding last year. We visited Benthall Hall on our way back to the site and noted there are many walks around the hall area. I went into the hall whilst my husband sat in the sun with the dog. I enjoyed what I saw & as members it was good to use our membership. We wished we could have stayed longer at the site as its location was wonderful and as fans of walking there are many routes accessible from the site. There is a bus stop outside the site but the buses do not run on a Sunday so cannot comment on their destinations or regularity. We only had 2 nights but it was well worth it and I wish the owner well as she has a lovely site.

Lovely site

Linda was very accommodating with a late afternoon booking for the same night. Couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived, got the full rundown of how best to visit Ironbridge for the day. We only stopped for the one night as we’re passing through, arrived in the dark but woke up to a lovely view. Very quiet site with the essentials. Hard standing and no grass worries at this time of year. Walking distance into Ironbridge, v steep walk back although we cheated and took the van, parked up in the long stay for the day as it was only £4, even tho Linda said we could park all day as no-one else was due on the pitch. Will def come back as we have the other places to visit in the area we couldn’t fit in.

Fabulous few days

This was a great stay. We were greeted very warmly by the owner, with a long chat. It was lovely to have such a friendly welcome. We were in our motorhome and the site was easy to find and to access. There were open views across countryside, great for watching the lightening on the stormy night we had. We were able to walk to the neighbouring village in about 15 minutes, where there were shops and pubs. We visited nearby Blists Hill victorian town/museum, this was a 15 minute drive from the site. We also walked to Ironbridge, this took us about half an hour. It's a steep walk! There's lots of attractions locally, especially if you're interested in industrial heritage, we're certainly looking forward to visiting again and exploring some more. A super stay.

Great stay at The Leopard

Just got back from a 4 night stay at The Leopard..if you're interested in industrial heritage....book this site... A lovely walk through woods to the town of Ironbridge, loads to see and do...we bought the pass for the museums, which is great value if you visit a few. Linda is really welcoming and made sure we were shown where everything was. The site itself is away from the road with direct access to fields that you can walk your dog. The grass was cut short and picked up...views to the Wrekin and surrounding countryside ,and you can see for miles. We will definitely be back...the site is basic but the setting and Linda are a treat....we really enjoyed our stay.Thank you Linda and your lovely family.

Great CL site

A lovely quite cl site surrounded by fields with cows. Grass well kept but the hedges were full of nettles around the electric points. Mrs Wyke, owner is very friendly and helpful. It’s only a mile walk to Ironbridge so we had a lovely walk there but very steep hills when returning to the cl site. Few of the local footpaths were full of nettles and needed clearing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Ideal short stay site

We received a warm welcome and told us where to find all necessary Points. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery and places of interest. My only downside is that the pitches need a little TLC. The site was easy to find with easy access and I felt that the van was super secure.
