A place to go back to

On arriving we were welcomed by Nigel who was very helpful, a quiet site and well looked after, it was great to see the grass cut and collected. A 5 minute walk to the spar shop for all your needs. We were charged £14 a night for EHU toilet 🚻 and water 💧 what a find. Set right in the middle for places to visit. The Admiral Hood pub you can walk to very friendly and great food.

A little gem…

We stayed here for a few days at the last minute. It’s a beautiful location right in the centre of the village 500 metres from the pub and church, 100 metres to the village shop and Bridport is a 20 minute drive away! The site is so peaceful and the amount of wildlife around is stunning; the swifts entertain all day with their aerobatics until sunset when the bats take over! This is such a gem of a site, run by a gem of an owner. Nigel is a proper gentleman, so friendly and helpful! We will be returning soon!

What a perfect site owner

We have done many CL's but this has to be the best in terms of the owner. Nigel came to introduce himself not long after we had set up. He gave us lots of information about places to go and was very welcoming. He kept in touch throughout our four day stay and came to say goodbye the night before we left. It's a very level site and the grass is kept neat. There had been lot of rain in the previous days so it was fairly wet underfoot but very well drained. It is a very peaceful location, although there was some work being done on a nearby farm, and the village clearly suffers from motorbikes at speed on occasions, but no other road noise! The on site toilet was kept immaculate, although we did use our own facilities most of the time. The only difficulty we experienced was finding the site, as although Nigel had given us very explicit instructions, there is no CAMC sign and because it's located behind an industrial building - DSD, we missed the turning initially. We can absolutely recommend the local pub - the Admiral Hood - a five minute walk from the site. Excellent food and excellent service, even on a busy Sunday evening. Thank you Nigel - we really appreciate your location.

A perfect place to relax.

A lovely friendly welcome from Nigel who could not have been more caring and helpful. The field is well cut and clippings removed so no tiresome little bits being tracked about. The toilet, whilst elderly was also kept spotlessly clean. A peaceful location with a lovely vista over the neighboring fields and virtually south facing. The village shop across the road is very well stocked and the Admiral Hood pub serves a good menu and also does takeaways. We could not have been more content during our four day break - the cat enjoyed it too!

A real gem of a CL.

Our first stay on this CL and it offers just what we like, peace, tranquility, views, clean and tidy, access to lovely countryside and places to visit. All this as well as a very enthusiastic, helpful and welcoming host in Nigel. Thank you.

Most Welcoming

Stayed here for the first May BH. Welcomed by Nigel, very friendly and helpful. The site is fairly level, just need to pick your spot. It was quite a warm weekend, which made the toilet novel. For those that have been here it looks like and feels like one of those sweatboxes in the P.O.W. films. Nevertheless it is clean and functional. The field held up well after the deluge of rain over the previous weeks. The pub nearby is worth a visit for a meal. Plenty of places to visit. Had a bit of a flap where our friends lost their car keys in Crewekerne. Nigel made it his mission to try to find them by visiting most of the shops there. Well done and thanks. Would thoroughly recommend the site, it is peaceful, clean and tidy with great views.

Just right for us!

Despite the worry by Nigel that the site was very wet we managed to get on although we did make one lot of ruts. The site dried out over our stay and proved to be just right for us.Plenty of space to walk the dog , nice and quiet, easy access. Lots of walking in the general area. I am sure we will visit again, Nigel is very helpful and keeps the site tidy and even managed the first cut of the season while we were staying so this helped the ground to dry.

Lovely site

We have just returned from an enjoyable but wet stay at this CL which is well maintained, as mentioned in previous reviews toilet is small but always clean with plenty of loo roll! There is plenty of space with hook ups along one side and fields where you can exercise dogs, need your wellies if wet though. Just across the road is a shop that sells most things you need, some of which is local produce, they also sell freshly baked breads and pastries which can be ordered. A few minutes walk down the road is the Admiral Hood pub which serves excellent food and is dog friendly, best to pop in and book beforehand. There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area and is near to Devon and Somerset borders. Nigel the owner is very friendly, helpful and is always willing to suggest somewhere to visit. We had an horrendous journey on the way there due to heavy rain and traffic hold ups so we phoned to say we were on our way and weren't going to be a no show, Nigel rang back to say there were road works in the village but to ignore the road closed signs, so glad he did as that would have been the icing on the cake! We also had a phone call when we returned home to say sorry I missed you to say goodbye and hope you enjoyed your stay, we had left early to avoid the road closures which by now will be finished, how nice was that!

What an introduction to CLs !!

After over 3 years of staying on typical Touring Park sites, we decided to try a CL for our maiden voyage with our new folding camper. What a pleasant surprise! The Mill House site is huge, the grass is very well maintained, and as other reviewers have written the loo is small but is kept clean throughout the day. Nigel made us most welcome and informed us of the local attractions - including The Admiral Hood PH which is just a short walk from the site. We enjoyed a lovely meal there where the friendly staff made Donata, me and our German Shepherd Dog Freddie very welcome. The one slightly negative comment I have to make is that the road along side the CL can become a little noisy especially when groups of motorcycle enthusiasts pass by. But that is no fault of the CL, it is just the result of others enjoying themselves - and as 'retired' motorcycle enthusiasts ourselves, it is not a criticism of them. We have just booked another CL stay in a few weeks time. We will be very happy if it is nearly as good as this one.
