First Rate

We stayed for 2 nights at this newly (2016) opened CL situated just a few miles north of Worcester. The approach is straight forward.Arriving from either north or south on the A449 watch out for a Green road sign which states Woodfield Lane. About 600 yards further up this road you turn right and in about another 600 yards, after Eden House and Eden Farm and around the left hand bend you arrive at The Old Orchard with its CL sign. The pitching area is spacious with the 5 pitches along a north/south line with views westward across to the hills. The pitches are large and well marked and you can place your unit any which way you want. Electrics and water are next to each pitch. There is a hedge behind that will eventually give some respite from any easterlies. Even the biggest outfit will have no trouble parking. The Chemical emptying point has been newly built and is clean. The owners ask that you recycle in accordance with the bins set out for you. The views are stupendous and sunsets are magnificent but you will feel any strong westerlies. The A449 is not far away. When we stayed there was an easterly breeze and we could hear a gentle hum which died away at night and didn't impede our enjoyment in the slightest. Most winds will come from the west. Mrs. Yardley couldn't have been friendlier and the information pack she provided for things to do and see in the vicinity would have impressed any Tourist Office. There is certainly plenty to do in the area. We're glad to see a new CL of this quality come into the club and I hope that members will use it and that it will flourish. We need CL's like this one. Well done to Mr. & Mrs.Yardley.

Fabulous C\L

Handy for lots of attractions - we wanted to visit WMSP but it was rainy so we chose Croome Court instead. The site is very nicely presented, with a flat mown grass field and both electricity and water available to each pitch. Dawn was very friendly and provided an pack with info about local facilities and things to do. It was very quiet and the views are fabulous. Highly recommended! We visited early October 2016 but it would be great here any time of year.

What more could you want

We have just returned from a 2 week stay on this new CL. When you enter the site there is definitely a wow factor, the owners Dawn & Martin have obviously put a lot of thought into getting it right before opening and they certainly have achieved this. The entrance from the lane is wide and access with any length of outfit would be no problem, hard surface extends into the site which is level regularly mowed grass plus 2 hard standing areas. The pitches are large with EHU with 3 water taps across the site, and a well thought out CDP/recycling area complete with information packs of local places of interest. There is a fantastic view towards The Malverns and Abberley Hill with stunning sunsets. Freeview signal is excellent with 4G on the O2 network. For shopping there is a large Tesco with garage at Stourport on Severn just 5 miles away. The Old Orchard is definitely high on our list of CL revisits. PS Don't tell to many people.

Local first outing

This was our first outing after many years. What a great site this is, if you have dogs, this is a great site to walk from, there is also the Cannon Royal brew pub a short walk away. Very quiet and relaxing, with great hosts.

Why can't all CLs be like this.

Stayed early August 2016. Impressed by layout of site, water points between pitches so no need to travel far. Grass cut short and site very level with extensive views over countryside. We were kept amused by sheep in the next field which were very entertaining. Perfect for children and old couples like us. Nice welcome from Mrs Yardley who had time to chat and explain the site and its history. Very interested in any improvements that we could suggest. Hard standings also available. Best CL I have stayed on in years and recommend a visit.

A great new site!

This is what we love in a CL. Great views, peace and quiet, large level pitches, EHU, & plenty of water points. The site is mainly grass but with some Hardstanding for when the land is wet. The site is about 3/4ml from the Worcester/Kidderminster road , the A449, down a country lane but there's no road noise whatsoever. The farm's fields have wide grass verges ideal for walking & for taking one's dog(s). There are a number of historic properties near by, N/T's Hanbury Hall, Coughton Court, & Dudmaston, and E/H's Witley Court. About 5 miles away, there's a Park and Ride for Worcester and Droitwich Spa has an Aldi and a Morissons supermarket. The nearest pubs which do meals are at Ombersley, a couple of miles from the site. The friendly owners are very helpful and now say that they will no longer be taking deposits, except for Bank Holiday booking. We will certainly return to his super CL.
