A great site with its own drive off the main road. The pitches are great and very well spaced out. Beautiful views, our visit was in November so hard standing only, there are grass pitches which will be great in the summer.
Towed up lane with twin axle caravan, passed other vehicles on the way, came from south direction.
The horses were lovely and Denzil the donkey is adorable.
Look forward to visiting again soon.
Excellent CL site in lovely surroundings with easy access to nearby villages & towns.
Spent a couple of weeks here back in May, having had to change plans at very short notice due to illness in the family, resulting in a dash to E Sussex, instead of Northern Scotland!
The owners couldn't have been more helpful at a difficult time.
Despite the circumstances we very much enjoyed the stay, the views, and the surrounding countryside and adjacent horses.
Access to Hastings and St Leonards is easy since the new road, just a short distance from the site, takes you quickly to the outskirts. Bexhill and Battle are also an easy drive away.
Would be very happy to return when we get an opportunity to head south again!
First class site
Good well maintained site with plenty of space and great views over open countryside. A number of walks directly from the site through wooded lanes and footpaths.
Peaceful and quiet.
I have just returned from this CL, it is very well kept - clean and tidy.
Plenty of recycle and general rubbish bins.
Horses provide entertainment and friendly.
Close to several seaside towns to explore.
I shall return to this site again when in the area.
Lovely quiet site
Beautiful open site surrounded by fields with horses, donkeys etc. Ideally situated for visiting lots of areas of local interest. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Pleasant stay
A pleasant stay at this CL in the middle of beautiful countryside. Lovely views, even in winter. Water, EHU and waste disposal to hand. There are 5 hardstanding pitches, although even with normal ramps you probably won't be completely level. There are plenty of pitches (with EHU) in the field for drier weather. One point to make though, there is a building site on-going in a nearby field. It didn't effect us much as it was February (doors closed), but summertime it might be different. But very nice surroundings to stay in.
A lovely peaceful site in the country
A lovely, quiet site surrounded by countryside, horses and farmland. Access to the site on the small road can be tricky if you meet anyone coming the other way, (and the road should be called Pothole Lane as it has more holes than a Swiss cheese!) - and like everyone says come in from the West end of Potman's Lane (Lunsford's Cross) not the East.
Tracey the owner, was amazingly hospitable and very friendly and we had a wonderful time, even extending by a day!
Beautiful beautiful CL
What a gem, beautiful views, quiet and peaceful, well designed and very clean. Short grass, hard standing availability, 240v and pristine separate water, grey and toilet emptying point. Surrounded by idylic countryside views and horses grazing in adjacent fields. Convenient location for days out to nearby attractions; Hastings, 1066 sites, south coast just 10 minutes away. Owner, Tracey, is the perfect host, there when you need her, as we did when following satnav from north.....do follow instructions on CMHC page, to avoid narrow lane.
Plenty of shops etc at nearby villages and towns, but nothing walkable, given its remote location.
We travel all over the UK, only staying on CL’s and this is one of the best and would expect to pay £20 per night, especially it’s ‘down South’ location and it’s high standard. Highly recommended.
Very quiet site.
The best thing about this site is the absence of noise, no road or railway near, just country noises, birds and wildlife, plus occasional horse. Fairly easy to get to, although the public road in very rough in places ( have been down better farm tracks), there is plenty of room to turn in even when the gate is closed. When you get to the field it is sloping with three hard standings. We had to set up on the grass but found the ground very soggy and sank a bit using all of our blocks to get level.
Not so good was the lack of hand sanitizers at the taps or CDP. Did think the pricing was a bit high for a CL, comparable with commercial sites but bit dear for CL's. We were surprised to see so many units on site, first night we counted 9 and most nights there 6 or 7. Didn't impact on our stay though, would we go back? Probably not, too dear for us.
I’ll be back!!!
I booked the site because I thought it was close to a bus stop (my error). It was actually about a mile and a half from the bus stop. However, it was an easy walk and it did me the world of good!!
The site was quiet, clean and well kept. The grass was short with no cuttings left, so my motorhome stayed clean, too! A chemical point, grey waste disposal and a water tap were located on a very clean spot.
Spread over 3 fields, there was plenty of space between vehicles! Slightly sloping, so levellers needed.
Tracy (the owner) was helpful and kindly gave me a lift to Lidl in Bexhill for some essentials!
Ponderosa is such a pretty site that I can’t recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning!
