Great location which was easy to get to. Lovely site - level and dry with all the basic amenities we needed for a week in our caravan. Lovely owner and son who recommended several places to eat. The Old Oak Tree was great for a family meal. The site is well kept with rubbish emptied and grass cut. Short walk into Thirsk and we went by bus to York and car to Filey. Lots of places to see in the area. Have been here several times and will return again. There were some families with young children here when we arrived who were clearly enjoying the space the farm gave them and goats to entertain us all. Very spacious, square site so there was plenty of room for us all. We used the Caravan and Motorhome Club vouchers to go to the James Herriot museum for half price. Other reviews have mentioned the pigs and the road but neither of which bothered us. We did enjoy plenty of bird song.
Too noisy for us
On the outskirts of Thirsk, a level 1 mile walk into the small town centre with a very pleasant market square and James Herriot museum to visit.
We stayed to go to the races, which are highly recommended.
The pitches are grass, level and a generous size. Owner very hospitable.
Sadly we couldn’t get used to the screeching noises from the pig farm next door and the road noise from the A168, we prefer quieter locations and won’t be returning.
Quirky and noisy
Good flat site and dog friendly. Owner very welcoming.
Site is very close to the dual carriageway so a lot of road noise all night. Indoor pig farm is even closer and the pigs squealed regularly throughout the night. There were six vans on site and four of them were related in some way - they seem to go there regularly and were all socialising together. They were friendly. Also had a view of the caravan storage (30 old dirty vans).
It was ok for a two night stopover as there is great access to the North York Moors and Thirsk is lovely.
Not somewhere to go if you like peace and quiet and a view.

Little Gem !
Great little site Pub just across the fields and a 20 min walk into Thirsk Judith (owner) is very easy going. Dogs are allowed and some great walks There is a farm nearby which you can smell when there is a SW wind but you are in the country .No Shower Block and there is a little road noise from A19 half a mile away Great for young children as they are safe as houses There is a herd of rare breed sheep in adjacent field that the kids can feed All grass pitches with oodles of space We will definatley return in the near future
