So friendly and helpful

I booked 2 nights on the site as I was working nearby. Robert took time to personally show me where everything was and the best place to park given the very wet weather. Very nice, clean shower/toilet room. Great to have lots of space instead of a tight cubicle. Lovely utility room for washing up, as my van has no hot water. Washing machine and dryer not used this time, but a truly excellent facility if I had been staying longer. Stunning view of Pen-y-ghent, though unfortunately had no time to climb it this time. I will be back. Thank you.

A Super CL

We stayed for two nights in the middle of some pretty wet and windy Yorkshire weather. However, this didn’t detract from the stunning location once the cloud lifted. A stunning view of Pen Y Ghent presented itself, and we loved the easy access to many of the Dales’ stunning roads. Robert met us on arrival and suggested the best pitch for us to deal with the weather, and then gave us a quick tour of the facilities, which were excellent. A CL with a shower? What luxury! A couple of things to note, you'll need to drive over close to the gate on the field to have a 10m water hose reach your onboard water tank, and even then ours only just reached. Grey water needs to be offloaded via a bucket, Aquaroll or similar. That aside, it’s a brilliant jewel of a CL and well worth a visit.

Glorious!

A really glorious Caravan & Motorhome Club "CL". Fairly large, grass site with just 5 pitches. The owners also have a B&B in the adjacent, lovely house. Very friendly and helpful owners, Jane and Robert. Very well maintained site, with just one combined loo, sink and shower room - very clean and well presented. The site has a stunning view over the majestic Pen-y-ghent - wonderful! Loved the stay here. I'll be back.

Beautiful site with mountain views

I cannot praise this lovely site enough. For those who like peace and quiet under the gaze of the glorious Pen-y-Ghent, then look no further than The Rowe House. Robert & Jane are very welcoming and provide plenty of advice during the booking process. CL guests have access to a well appointed washroom with WC, shower & basin. Another bonus is access to a utility rom with a washing up sink, washing machine and drier. Horton in Ribblesdale Station is just a 5 minute walk away as is the bus to and from Settle. The Pennine Way is on the doorstep! Highly recommended!

Five star CL

We booked up at fairly short notice and received excellent information and communications from Jane who was equally helpful when we arrived for our two night stay last week. The large, sheltered site is pleasantly located on the edge of the village, next to a road (not busy) and the railway line (ditto) across the road. Great views towards Pen-y-Ghent and a pub 1/2 mile easy walk down the road. The facilites here are the best we have experienced on a CL: washing machine, dryer, somewhere to hang washing out under cover, shower, toilet and very tidy black/grey waste area. I also really liked the labelled rubbish bin where food waste, recyclable and non-recyclable waste was clearly marked. Highly recommend this site as a base for exploring this beautiful part of the Dales.

Fabulous location for The Yorkshire Three Peaks area.

This was a last minute few days away but somewhere I wanted to be this year for walking. I wasn't expecting to be able to get booked up for 5 nights but we struck it lucky. Booking up is quite formalised compared to other CL's I have used but I can understand the need for the extra detail required from Robert and Jane once the access difficulties are explained if you have a large outfit. 7.20 metre caravan length is max permitted. ( We just made it at 7.19 ) On check in Robert assisted us to back up the van to reposition for the tight left hand turn and watched us in. Once on site Robert showed us where the facilities were etc. Other than speak to Jane on the phone I never actually met her as I was out walking when she socialised on site with CL guests .My wife informed me she was a very friendly lady and very helpful. As was Robert. Each day there was also some home grown salad/ veg left near the drinking water tap for guests to help themselves. Facilities were excellent and kept clean. The main views from the CL was the splendid Pen Y Ghent ( One of the Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge ). All pitches get the sun for part of the day ( in fact most of the day) We were on Pitch five along side some conifers. A little disappointed at first we would not get the late sun but soon found that if we sat around to the front of the caravan under the trees we got the evening sun. There are two pubs and a shop a short walk with via footpath accessible from the road through a stile in the wall. ( The shop we never saw open but looked to be stocked up, we wondered if it only opened at weekends and holidays) Horton Rail Station is also a short walk and the rail line passes maybe 200 yards west of the CL. Only drawback of that is a 7am toot as a train approaches the station. We were very fortunate to see The Flying Scotsman on a journey from York to Carlisle. ( and return ) Settle is around three/four miles away where you can stock up at a supermarket and countless other facilities. This CL is a little gem in the middle of the Three Peaks area.

A splendid place to walk and relax

We started by booking 2 nights, but stayed for 4! Says it all, a beautiful location with hosts who were so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond expectations. We did fabulous walks straight from the site and so many more left to do. We’ll be back!

Fabulous

We stayed 2 nights at The Rowe House to do the 3 Peaks walk. Robert was lovely. He greeted us, showed us around the facilities which were excellent and very clean and well maintained. Clean hot shower, loo, washing up barn with washing machine and tumble dryer and plentiful information about the area. The site looks directly out onto Pen-y-Ghent (view fabulous) with 5 spacious pitches (no hard standing) and a beautiful wild flower meadow area. Despite the local quarry there was minimal road noise and only occasional quarry related sounds. We will definitely revisit and have recommended to our CAMC vanners!

Great CL - perfectly positioned for exploring the Yorkshire Dales

June 2023 - We stayed for 5 nights (Pitch 1), part of our touring of the Yorkshire Dales. Lovely peaceful site with fantastic views of Pen-y-Ghent (we just climbed this peak)! Our van was alongside the wild flowers which was beautiful. Clean Shower & Toilet & good utility area for washing/washing up etc. A couple of minutes walk into the village or train station - recommend the trail to Carlisle, beautiful scenery along the route. Next door to the CL is the recreation ground, so you can exercise dogs in here if need be & there are tennis courts. Robert & Jane will forward a e-information pack upon request which has great information. The only slight niggle was the grass was long on our pitch, luckily we didn't have rain during our trip so not as much of a problem Recommend this CL & will definitely stay again when we are in that area. Many thanks
