Great CL - Hope it keeps going....
Our third visit to this great CL. Unlike previous visits, the weather was mainly awful with pouring rain and howling gales! How glad we were to have hardstanding and piped fresh water and grey waste drainage. Elsan disposal close by when the rain stopped.
Excellent walking from the site along the old Montgomery Canal, primarily to the Horseshoes Inn (approx 1 mile) where a warm welcome awaits with good food. For the first time we made use of the T12 bus that will stop across the road, £2.20 to Welshpool and a gentle walk back along the canal. The other side of Guilsfield has a cheap petrol station with a good Londis shop at fair prices. We visited Montgomery for the first time, well worth the 12 miles drive.
Sorry to see that the property is up for sale. Fingers crossed that the eventual new owners will keep the CL going, because Ruth has invested a lot of money in installing facilities (apart from WC and showers) of a standard that matches any club site you might care to name.
