Great CL

We had a great time at Thoulstone Park. The owner "Scary" was great - really helpful and welcoming. Ideal location for visiting local attractions. Nice level ground to park the van and the toilets and showers were a welcome addition. Just a bit tight on access if you have a twin axle!

OK but note actual price for hook up

Stayed here for two nights and found it ok but fairly underwhelming. The first thing to note is that if you are using the electric hook up, it is actually £24 per night, not £20. We had the field to ourselves and there were two toilets and showers for exclusive use, which was good. These were clean although the light in one of them did not work. The grass was short and the ground flat where we parked. We hired a bbq for £10, which was helpful as we had forgotten our own. We had a friendly welcome and were shown round by the owner and we were given a 10% off voucher for a local pub. Otherwise, the entrance into the site is a real mess, ramshackle fence panels, overgrown weeds and junk. There is no view beyond the field from any angle except of two large and dilapidated greenhouses near the toilet facilities. The sound of road traffic is pretty constant. I'm sure it's fine if you're using it as a base to visit local spots but if it's your destination, I would imagine there are a lot prettier, quieter places.

Perfect chilled site

Very calm, great location for Longleat, Frome, Bath and plenty more. The owner, Steve, will go out of his way to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Cannot recommend highly enough.

April sunshine

A great cl site , central location ideal for visiting surrounding towns . Lovely bird life around the site ( take a bird feeder if you have one ) The owner Steve is a real fun filled friendly character, he is always happy to have a chat . I have family in Trowbridge so it was ideal for me for visiting and hosting. I will definitely be going back again

Really helpful

Had another lovely stay even though the weather was poor. "Scarey" towed the van out with his 4x4 in case our car wasn't up to the muddy conditions. A really kind and helpful site owner.

A friendly welcome and good facilities

We received a friendly and helpful welcome and given plenty of information about the local area. "Scary" even left us apples for our return on the first day. A real bonus is the toilet and shower facilities available.

this is a lovely CL we found it after we make a mistake with a other CL. The owner is very frienly and helpful. We even get some plums from his garden. We enjoyes our stay. And we will come back if we are traveling to the UK. Thanks to Mr.Cary we had lovely days there. If you want a peaceful place and a vriendly owner go to Thoulestone Park. lady le Blanc

Thoulestone Park

This is a lovely newly opened CL just off the A36 Between Bath and Warminster. The owner is very friendly and accommodating - SCary by name only! - allowing us to arrive early and leave late to make the most of our weekend passes to Longleat. (Although this may not be possible if the site is fully booked the day before/after your stay). Thoulstone Park is a working smallholding and we were greeted by Guinea Fowl free ranging around the field and a small flock of Geese next door - he even invited us to pick some plums in his orchard! Site is very conveniently placed for visits to Longleat - only 10 minutes away. Salisbury, Bath and Glastonbury are also all within a reasonable distance. Village of Chapmanslade is a couple of minutes drive away and there is a free drink waiting for you at the Three Horseshoes when you order food, if you're staying at Thoulstone Park. Pitches are reasonably level and the facilities are excellent with 16A electric hook-up and access to a couple of self contained private bathrooms containing a toilet, shower and washbasin. Fresh water, waste disposal and rubbish bins are also available. There is a small area with a fire pit in one corner, with fire wood provided if you want to make use of this. Would definitely recommend this site and I'm sure we'll be back!

Lovely CL in a peaceful setting.

This is a brand new Cl and we stayed three nights. It is a very pleasant site, calm and peaceful. The grassy paddock is large and more than enough room for everyone if it was full and with easy access to the hook up points. Water and waste disposal is conveniently placed in a corner of the paddock. The shining light here, for me was the newly built large wooden building, housing four individual private showers and toilet facilities. The site gives easy access to local towns / villages and to Bath - a short drive to the Park and Ride. It may well be worth considering a stay at this site if you are going to Glastonbury - yes i know it may be a bit further, but this would be so peaceful at the end of a heavy day. The weather helped to enhance our stay here but I'm sure that this will be a success, plenty of room for families and children to run around, and we will certainly make a return visit when we happen to be in the area.
