Very good site to discover West Cornwall

We stayed on this site for 5 nights in early Sept 2022. Access to the site was a single track farm lane off a B Road. The track was a bit rough but perfectly manageable at low speed. At the end of the track there is a very tight left turn into the CL. It is best to use the farmyard as a roundabout clockwise to enable you to get the right angle to swing into the field entrance. The opposite is applicable as you exit the campsite by going round the farmyard anti-clockwise. The site itself is grass and level with large well spaced out pitches with water and EHU. We parked across the pitch which made levelling very easy. Recycling and waste disposal facilities were very good and easy to use. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The site is, as you would expect for West Cornwall, quite exposed, but drains well when it rains heavily. We had nice countryside views and several horses in a neighbouring field to watch. We used this site as a base to walk sections of the South West Coast Path and there is plenty else to see in the area such as the Minack Theatre, Telegraph Museum and beaches at Porthcurno nearby. Also easy access for Lands End, Penzance, Sennen and St Ives.

Absolutely gorgeous

We've just returned home after another perfect stay on this excellent site. The relaxed welcome, its perfect location for exploring West Cornwall and a sense of peace and rural tranquility make this one of our favourites. Highly recommended.

Blissful

Absolutely wonderful and simple countryside site. We were lucky in the fact we timed our booking at the beginning of October and we were the only caravan on site for our 8 night stay , bar 2 mid week days when only one other caravanner stopped over, but we still felt we were the only one's there with our two dogs! Nothing but the sound of the farm cows, birds and the horses grazing in the field opposite. John the farm owner was absolutely lovely, he was very accommodating but left you alone if you are the type of people that want to be left alone, which we are. He was very accommodating of our dog's by letting us take them on his land around the farm for long runs. There are many walks to go off on adventure directly from the farm. Absolutely fantastic location for visiting the main attractions around the area, with Land's End being only 6 miles away, Penzance 10 minutes away and the Telegraph museum to name just a few. A pub just 2 miles up the road servers lovely evening meals that we visited a couple of times. Our phone reception there was excellent, as too was the TV reception and WiFi. The farm drive entrance is a bit bumby but in the grand scheme of things thats nothing in comparison to everything else thats on offer, I'm only mentioning it because that's the worse of it, but personally if you drive along carefully and slowly with your caravan it's not a problem at all. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, our dog's were sad to leave 🐕

Peaceful & Open Site

The site has fantastic open views across the countryside and beyond, you can also get a slight sneaky view of the sea between the distance hills. There is no road noise and the only sounds you can hear are the cattle in the fields and the birds. It was a little windy on my stay there but it was always from the West so the left of the caravan was always sheltered from the wind and meant that I was able to sit out in the sun - which is right in front of you, without it being too windy. Even though it rained almost everyday, the ground soon dried out so after a week there was no mud from where I had been walking around. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and popped in a few times to make sure that all was ok. The Wifi was weaker the further you went from the house, if you were on the furthest pitch, I'm not sure you would pick it up. Road access was good all the way, and although the gateway to the field is tight, if you have a smaller outfit then you can get in and out carefully. Overall, it is one of the best sites I have been to and will love to stay there again if visiting the area.

Wonderful site

We have been to this wonderful site 5 times now and when you consider we live about 350 miles away that says a lot about the site. The views from the vast pitches are "Wonderful". The pitches are one of the biggest we have been fortunate enough to stay on and there are multiple water taps within easy reach of the caravan. John the "lucky" owner of the CL is an extremely amiable man and certainly has a fantastic place to live. The site is really peaceful and enjoys the sun, as all pitches are favourably positioned to get the full benefit. The Minack Theatre is about 5 miles down the road which is one of Cornwall's main attractions and the amazingly blue/green water at Pothcurno beach is just below the Minack. The views will never be forgotten and the production at the open topped Theatre will remain for ever. Penzance is about 6 miles in the other direction with St Michaels Mount another famous attraction, The walk across to the Mount is amazing when the tide is out or get the boat if the tide is in. Penzance is also the place to get the boat to the Scilly Isles another memorable experience. The Tin Mines are another attraction where Poldark was filmed, again wonderful views. St Ives, Padstow and Rock are also, must visits, within easy reach. Hopefully you will all go but please leave me a space when I go next time. Enjoy!

Tranquil and rural

We booked this as we were visiting the Minack Theatre and wanted to be nearby which worked well. Access was fine to a lovely, well kept field, surrounded by crops and hedges. Good hook-ups and water provision. The dog loved chasing balls around the open grass. A tug of war practice one evening entertained us!

Half Term Holiday 2016 & Wifi Bliss!

We stayed here for the Summer Half Term and loved it. Weather was good, pitch & facilities are excellent. Owners are great, leave you to enjoy the site but approachable & very helpful if needed. We have a 15 & 13 year old who's reluctance to caravan is due to lack of social media accessibility. I can't praise Trelew Farm enough for it's excellent Wifi. When on site there was not a whiff of dissent among the troops as we could all internet to our hearts content. The best connectivity of any site (Club Sites included) that we have ever stayed at. When I mentioned this to the Site owners they were happy to say that they had installed Wifi before the season & were interested in the results. Well, it is excellent. We love West Penwith, in all weathers lol, but when it rains kids can be difficult to occupy, not so here. When it is sunny the beaches & places of interest are second to none. Counter productive to post this review I know as probably means great difficulty being able to book in here in the future, but the owners deserve it. A great place for a quiet break for all, young & old.

Ideal location

This is a very pleasant site. 5 spacious pitches with water available between pitches 1 & 2 and 4 & 5 Access the farm is easy to find off the main St Buryan Rd, the caravan site is a tight left turn as you reach the farm yard, however it is easy to circle round the yard and get a straight line approach. Field is kept well cut with grass collected reducing mess in the caravan, public footpaths around site check with owners for best routes to avoid cattle. Unexpected bonus and a first for us after 5 years of regular CL visits they offer free WiFi which I was able to access easily from pitch 3. Within easy reach of Penzance and all beaches around Land's End. Bus service from St Buryan enables access to the coast for walker's.

Lands End

We had seven great days stay in August. Great location, easy to find, with out the narrow roads of Cornwall to negotiate with a caravan in tow. With it beaning a working farm the grass was a little long for us and the fly's can be a little annoying. Other than that a good CL.
