Great 4 nights

The wife myself and our Old English Sheepdog stayed here from 19th - 22nd September 2023. The gate was padlocked but we had the combination, great that no Tom Dick or Harry could drive on, unfortunately the first night the weather could have been a little kinder for us, nobody's fault. Mike was great, made us feel welcome, we ventured out to one of the local beach in the evening, and had a great walk with the dog. Well worth considering if you ever want to go to the Gower peninsula, it's cracking.

Ssshhh too good to share

What a brilliant site and Jayne & Mike could not have been more welcoming if they tried. Felt like family and home from home. The gower is an amazing area, especially if fit and you like walking and cycling. Even for us, mobility restricted, it has still be a fabulous visit. Bird watching is a must and if you are into surfing well you'd be in paradise. The site is extreemly well maintained, in a beautiful area with the usual amenities plus wi-fi - though remember this is rural Wales but it was brilliant for us. Local garage with shop and laudry facilities was a surprise, local farm shop or just 25-30 minutes in to Swansea for their indoor market or Llanelli for their supermarkets etc. Looking forward to visiting Swansea marina area and museum too. Loads of local pubs with beer gardens and all very dog friendly, a must for us. In fact the site and hospitality is so good ....... we're firghtened to share in case we can't get in next year. Thank for an awesome time Mike & Jayne - we would have given 6 stars if we could :)

A great site to stay at.

Great site with large pitches, very well kept and well organised with Covid guidance in place. Good location for exploring The Gower and a warm welcome from Mike, the owner. Good Wi-Fi and information centre with a book swap box too. We had booked to stay 3 nights, having arrived quite late on the Friday night, Mike came to warmly greet us on Saturday morning, after lunch we ventured off to explore the area, ending on one of the many beautiful beeches on the peninsular. Unfortunately, on Saturday night, a fault developed (rather became apparent because of the heavy rain) on our new caravan which necessitated a hasty departure for home the next morning. Mike came to see if he could help in any way, but the problem (split/crack in sun roof) could not be sorted on site, and because of the rain coming in through, we had to head for home. We offered to pay for the whole time that we had booked for, but Mike wouldn't hear of it and insisted that he'd only accept payment for the two nights. This would/should have been a fantastic weekend break at a fantastic, well cared for site, we fully intend to go back once our caravan is repaired. Thank you Mike and Jayne.

MAINTAINED TO A HIGH STANDARD

We spent six nights at this site from July 18th to 22nd. Access to the site is fairly easy, in that it is on the main (narrow) route through North Gower. There is room for two vehicles to pass but there are places where meeting another caravan would be a problem. The entrance is hidden and so an orange windsock flies over it. The hedge of the field next door, however, is high enough to make spotting the windsock difficult. There is a keycode for the gate, which gives a sense of security. Inside, the site is very well-maintained, with very large pitches which are numbered and separated with low fences planted with flowers and shrubs. There are views to the hills at one end of the site but otherwise the hedges mean that the views are limited. The owner was on site not long after we arrived and he gave us a good welcome. He lives in the house next door to the CL site and is assiduous about keeping everything clean and neat. With 16 amp electrics and generoous pitches, this site is good value for money and very pleasant. There are two shortcomings to this CL site. The first is that the road outside can be pretty busy in good weather and is not really safe to walk, so one needs to use the car. The second is that there are no mature trees and so there is no shade except any umbrellas and awnings that you take with you. We were there is very hot weather and I longed for the shade of a tree. There are one or two young trees there so perhaps this will be rectified with tiime, as they grow. The area is, of course, very beautiful and there are plenty of beaches to visit, as well as castles and the marshlands towards Gowerton. Swansea is a lovely city with parks and botanic gardens that are well worth a visit, as well as the busy seaside village of Mumbles and the Marina. The National Trust owns parts of the coastline and Rhosilli is particularly worth a visit.

Shh do not tell everyone.....

Almost loathed to put this review on as we want to be able to get pitches moving forward!! One of the best maintained CLs we have stayed on, the grass was kept immaculate by Mike who works tirelessly to ensure the site, bins etc are kept spick and span..... Easy access (look for the wind sock) yet very close to the fantastic beach at Llangenith - to be honest where we spent most of the week. We found cracking cycleway to Mumbles and there is so much more to explore from this gem. The only downside is that to access any footpaths from the site you have to walk down the road that has no footpath and can be quite busy as is the main road across the north of the peninsular. So in summary will we be back - definitely already booked, see you in August Mike & Jayne......

Fab CL

Had a lovely welcome from Mike, he cares a lot about his CL and his visitors, it clearly shows by how he keeps it, clean and tidy pretty solar lights and flowers dotted around the site. There is hand gel at the water and waste which is great to see. He has an information area and book Swop also chicken and duck eggs for sale. The views are lovely I would say you need transport to get around to see the beautiful Gower. Would definitely recommend this site.

Excellent site

Stayed 4 nights mid April 21. Very well laid out and well-maintained site. Plenty of defined space around the 5 pitches. Helpful and welcoming owners. Site convenient for great walking and of course, close to Gower's wonderful beaches. Will return, thanks Mike and Jayne.

Peaceful and perfect

We recently stayed at this site for a long weekend. It was perfect in every way. Peaceful but a great location for walks and exploring the Gower peninsula. The site is pristine and one of the nicest CL we've stayed at. The effort that Mike and Jane go to is above and beyond that we've had before; we even had a gift of eggs from their ducks and chicken that came to visit us daily on our pitch, Each pitch is fenced with well maintained grass and hardstand. This really is a gem of a site and one we will definitely return to. Thank you both.
