Both my wife & myself & our dog had a smashing time here. We had a lovelly welcome & made to feel welcome right from the start. The site is very well kept, smashing views from your caravan,we had fresh eggs from off of the farm for our breackfasts as well. It's nicelly situated for visiting the dales, and forbidden corner from here. Shops approx 5 miles away. I would like to take this oppertunity to thank, Rachel & Simon for their hospitallity and that they will see us again.

A lovely site. I can only reiterate all the nice things which others have said. The toilet chalet was clean and well stocked whilst we were there. The ingress of grass from a field goes with the territory so far as I am concerned. We had no issues with cleanliness or grass! The views are outstanding and the tranquility during a Bank Holiday weekend was divine. Just down the road there were CC sites packed to the edges with serried ranks of white vans, we on the other hand were an elite little bunch of 5!

Great for the northern Dales

We visited this site in June so the weather was mixed. You pitch yourself on arrival and the owner then comes to see you later. The field is sloping so blocks are required, although there are some provided if necessary. Our pitch gave us a view to the front straight down the valley to Sutton Bank in the distance. To our side we looked down the slope to the stream at the bottom of the valley. We were very pleased with the pitch as we had good views on two sides. The CL field is surrounded by fields on three sides with assorted cattle. Although the cattle shed is adjacent to the 4th side, we didn't experience any smells or noise. There was a little owl in residence nearby that flew past occasionally, and oyster catchers and curlews were regular visitors. There is a shower shed that also has a toilet and sink (cold water only). A mop is supplied but it did get quite grassy at times from people using the toilet with grassy boots. It didn't seem to be cleaned regularly. The site is about 5 miles from the A1 and is easy to get to. It gives easy access to many attractions such as Jervaulx Abbey and Middleham Castle. Masham isn’t too far away which has a couple of breweries that are worth a visit, and of course Hawes for Wensleydale cheese. We would certainly go back to this site.

Peaceful CL with good access to local attractions, highly recommended

Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 4 and under 2. We stayed for 9 nights. Easy access off the A684 about half a mile outside of Constable Burton. It is a working farm with cows, sheep and a horse in fields nearby. The site is slightly sloping / uneven but nothing too challenging we got set up in no time and didn't pay the owner for a couple of days! The livestock are rotated around fields adjoining the CL site and you can stroke the cows and horse which was nice for the kids. There is a stream approximately 100yds from the CL site which forms part of a walk in to the village but you need wellies! Very tranquil location and trains can be seen on the Wensleydale Railway from the site. Strict 5 van only which is nice to see. Facilities consist of a wooden hut with a toilet, shower and sink. *** Shower takes 20p pieces = 2 minutes shower time *** We had a lot of rain but the site drains very well and we did not experience any flooding at all. The owner called in for a chat one day and was very helpful. We tend to seek new places to visit but I would not hesitate to return to this site.
