New to CLs always used club sites but now we have sampled everything at Vennlake we cannot wait for our stays next year which are already booked.
Many thanks to Dave & his wife for running a brilliant site & their hospitality.
Without doubt, this is the nicest, the best value and the most friendly CL that we have ever had the pleasure of staying on. We have just spent 10 days there after many stays in years gone by and the CL just gets better and better. David and Phylis are the perfect hosts and simply cannot do enough for their visitors. There is always a welcome smile, no matter what the weather, and now with full service pitches staying at Vennlake is just perfect. Even though we have a few hundred miles to get there, it is always a stay to look forward to and to hopefully keep visiting for many years to come. Definitely our best rated CL. David & Ann Barlow
A lovely site, with a friendly and helpful owner. Grass cut regularly and cuttings removed. Easy to find and a Co-op store within a short walk. There is also a nice garden centre with restaurant 70 yards up the road from the Co-op. The site is midway between north and south coastlines and a short drive from Dartmoor. Will definitely use next time in Devon.
We stayed here from 4 to 9 June 2015. It is very quiet, just what we wanted. We didn't meet Phyl, but Dave is a cheerful friendly guy, and very helpful. The pitches are hard standing (shale), spaced well apart, and are fully serviced with your own water connection, waste water drain, and television aerial connection, plus of course electric hookup.
The site is well situated, within easy reach of Dartmoor and other places of interest, and an added bonus is a Co-op supermarket just across the road.
We will certainly stay on this site in the future if we want to stay in that part of Devon again!
Lovely site. Easy to find and with good access. Quiet, peaceful surroundings but with easy access to places of interest and plenty of good walks around. The pub in Bow (White Hart) appeared to be closed down, but wasn't! The Waei Inn, 2 miles away, has good value food and a family atmosphere. We had a problem with our car and can recommend the local garage in Bow. We were grateful for Dave's help, letting us stay till it was fixed. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Gem of a site, run by a caravaner for caravaners, always a pleasure to stay here and your always made to feel welcome, love coming here for long weekends to unwind.
My wife and i spent 4 days at this site in June, i would like to second all the comments that has been said about this cl.
Price, amenities, friendliness, location, a great place to just sit and relax and do what i enjoy about caravanning,do absolutely nothing , peace and quiet with a good book.
We are fairly new to caravanning but this was such a find!
We were lucky enough to be on a pitch next to the lovely little pond area which was like having our own little garden. The surroundings were stunningly beautiful, and with a shop only 5 minutes walk away, we didn't need to go far for provisions.
Dave was such a great host and gave us plenty of helpful information. Facilities were of a good standard and the provision of an extended TV aerial was a nice touch - although we didn't watch the tele much at all as there was so much else to do and sitting out in the evening sun, listening to the birdsong was much nicer.
We will definitely be back!
A little gem of tranquility. Would go again and recommend to friends. Friendly welcome and Dave & Phyl always on hand to be helpful. Well kept grass with hard standing for the vans. TV is via a long-length,direct plug-in aerial lead courtesy of Dave's cabling system. O2 mobile signal excellent. (I left the computer at home - well you are on HOLS!). Good Co-Op store within 200 yards (the pasties always smell delicious!) and it has a caravan spares place next door. Bus stops at end of lane opposite the Co-Op; ideal for those with a bus pass. Exeter 50mins by bus, a lovely compact city with a waterside area.
