Location is everything

Definatly one of the best locations in 40yrs we've ever stayed at. Kirsty & Steve's welcome is so friendly and warm, they even offered to pick up any supplies we might need. It really is wall to wall panoramic views, across to Orkney, and Dunnet Head. They have now added a track to all pitches, so it's made it easier for Motorhomes,It's on the NC500 route so great for stopover's or longer as we did. Easy walk of 20mins to the Castle of Mey along the Coast line, with great views all the way.Plenty to watch from the comfort of your own van/motorhome. Everything thing you need on your pitch.Thank You Kirsty & Steve for opening up this CL for others to enjoy.Would highly recommend this site, pity we're 700mls away.

A Peace of Heaven

Just recently stayed at this wonderful CL. Originally we planned to stay for three nights but ended up staying for 12(!) and could have stayed much longer. Will most definitely be returning next year. This site is closely situated to John O' Groats (Day Trip to the Orkneys or wildlife Tour at 2.30 daily on the ferry), Gill's Bay (for the Ferry to Orkney), Dunnet Bay, Thurso and Wick. If you do stay in the area I also recommend a visit to Tongue for the views (to die for). The best thing though about the site is the peace and quiet and the wonderful views out to Sea and across to the Orkneys, as well as towards the Stack and Gill's Bay in the East and Dunnet Head in the West. If you are lucky enough to have a sunny evening you also get wonderful sunsets. The views are good in all weather, but are simply magnificent in the sun. The owners (Steve and Kirsty) could not be more welcoming, even offering to pick up milk or provisions for us, we cannot praise them highly enough and we hope they make a success of what has become our favourite site (but shhh! don't tell everyone or we'll never get in). Unfortunately we didn't see any of the aforementioned dolphins but perhaps next time. This is certainly my favourite place to read a good book looking across to the views towards Gill's Bay and Stroma.

Peace and tranquility!

Enjoyed this new CL situated 6 miles south west of John o Groats. If you are after peace and tranquility, with beautiful coastal views towards Orkney, then this is a "must visit" site. Pitches are hard standing and serviced with electricity, water and grey waste. Owners Kirsty and Steve were so helpful, they even offered to empty our chemical toilet. We took an evening stroll which took us in a circular route (about three miles)! We spent six peaceful days here. Will definitely go back to this little hidden gem! Monika and Paddy :)

Please don't over look this site!!

Whether you are touring the NC500 or making a pilgrimage to John O Groats or the Highlands, you have to spend a night or two at this wonderful Cl. We were the very first campers to visit the site and met owners Steve & Kirsty who are lovely, very knowledgeable of the area, very friendly and enthusiastic about their site and surroundings. We had two wonderful days there seal watching on the beaches and whale watching from the fabulous cliff top Firth view right outside our back doors! Why would you need the packed tight sites at Thurso or John O Groats when you could have the freedom here?? It really is worth finding. I just hope Steve has added more signage from the main road as it's a real shame people are just driving by without even knowing it's there!! We'll definitely be back as soon as possible!
