Just what we needed!

After a very busy, cramped and noisy site, this little piece of heaven was just what we needed . The owners couldn’t be more helpful in every respect, even down to fresh eggs in the morning The site is immaculately kept and extremely clean throughout. This is exactly what a CL site should be like, we will definitely be returning. Our thanks to Waghorns for a wonderful two nights.

Beautiful site even in wet weather.

We just spent five nights at Waghorns in early April. Despite lots of rain just before we arrived at the site, being at the top of a hill the pitches had drained well and were totally usable. Definitely a good site to visit for a grass pitch in the rainier months. Site is very well maintained and in a picturesque location with lots of walking and cycling down quiet country lanes nearby. Bewel water is only a couple of miles away. The owners Sandra and Martin are very welcoming and helpful, overall a great site. As usual I’ve made a video of the site which describes it better than I can in words. https://youtu.be/6WP0-WuqNmY

Lovely peaceful site, perfect for walking or cycling

We stayed 6 nights at Waghorns, very peaceful with lovely views. Close to Bewl water for walking or cycling, Bedgebury Forest and Pinetum and plenty of of quiet lanes and footpaths. Free range chickens on site and ewes with lambs in neighbouring field. Large site with plenty of space between units and friendly hosts. Thank you.

Re-open in 2020

Martin and Sandra both made Covid arrangements to keep the gates and common points safe with sanitising equipment. The toilet on site is available but owners prefer you use own facilities which is expected at the moment. Plenty of space on the site with nice views over the Downs. Access road trees have been clipped so access is fine but recommend you come from the north from Lamberhurst for easiest entry to Newbury Lane.

Great little site -if you can find it .

Perhaps it's me ? Directions in handbook for if you're travelling south (which I wasn't) , so even after checking on Googlemaps couldn't find drive opposite pub (overgrown and no signs) so went for 2nd lane further on , still no sign so missed it . Another caravanner warned me i'd missed it , so turned round and went back . After walking past couple entrances and driveways , finally found lane seeing small sign in hedge . Driveway short and steep but not a problem . Nice welcome and explained about difficulty finding site but didn't seem to be bothered . Everything else was pointed out and explained .Very nice little site , plenty of room which we needed as, towards the BH weekend there were 6 caravans and a tent on site -result tripped electrics . Free range chickens wandered round site all the time (which is ok if you keep awning door zipped up) so watch where you tread ! and one kept wandering into toilet . Good location for visiting area and beautiful scenery so yes would go back if i can find it .

Refreshing.

Lovely site with very accommodating owners. We stayed here knowing that it was going to be a very unsettled weekend but just didn’t know how bad. Had we been on any other site we may well have packed up early and left. Even with 2 unsettled nights due to “ storm Freya” we still wanted to stay and managed to put on our wet gear and do a couple of very easy 8 mile walks in the local countryside. You really can walk as long or short distance as you like here with routes a plenty. We will definitely be back here at some point. Owners very easy going and extremely helpful. Thankyou very much.

Just right

Lovely site in a lovely area. Nothing to complain about at all. Has wifi but is weaker further from house. Listen to owners directions as easy to reach but last road is a very narrow single lane.

Lovely site with amazing views

A delightful CL with many free range chickens helping you to enjoy this site. Beautiful distant views over the Kentish Weald. The owners really make an effort ensure you feel welcome. Follow the directions, otherwise the "scenic route" will give your wing mirrors a hard time. Good, clean facilities.

Lovely site but with a tricky access

The arrival instructions are a little confusing when you first read them but just go with it as it does all come together. However, you turn right just before The Old Vine Public House rather than opposite. If you do overshoot, as we did, there is a triangle on the right about 1.1m further on that offers a good turning point. Once you do turn right the access is via a very narrow lane with little or no passing places for a car and virtually nothing for anything towing a trailer. Therefore, DO NOT arrive before midday. Otherwise, a lovely quiet sight with friendly owners, pleasant views, amusing and inquisitive chickens that are the first to welcome you, good recycling, TV and 3G reception on Three network.
