As previous comments have suggested, this is a lovely site but not without it's challenges. The site is accessed off a typical Devon farm lane,which winds it's way down towards the site, & may prove difficult for large wide outfits. There aren't any 'passing by' places along the lane, other than drive entrances to some dwellings,which probably aren't sufficiently wide to accommodate an outfit.You certainly would be in a 'pickle' meeting something coming in the opposite direction. Unlike other CL.'s we've used with similar problems,the owner doesn't appear to have a policy of arrival & departure time to help prevent such a problem occurring. The only way to stop a problem would be to walk up or down the lane to stop others entering or leaving the site. Past the farm buildings, there is, as already mentioned, an uneven fairly steep loose scalpings drive to the site.Indeed,it would be very wise to get into low gear,drive and just don't stop until you reach the actual CL. The hard drive extends the length of the CL site to a turning point at the end. Pitches are marked along this long strip of land and levelling blocks would be needed.The grass is kept fairly short. Access to water & EHU points are well defined as are the refuse bins and waste disposal point. However, and purely our own opinion,because of the slope of the site, an awning might be difficult to erect, something we didn't attempt during our stay. The views across the hills and towards Coombe Martin are quite lovely & the site is undoubtedly peaceful. Ofcourse, because the site is situated high up, in bad weather, it has lots of exposure to the elements..no protection from strong winds coming off the sea. The owner makes regular visits to the site. We enjoyed our stay,the weather was kind to us & the views of the lovely North Devon area are outstanding but we would probably not choose this CL again.
