early spring visit

we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Jacks's site earlier in the year, we had it to ourselves for the 4 night stay, but l am sure when this site gets well known it will be hard to find a free pitch as it will be fully booked. The scenery is beautiful and is ideally situated to explore the southern dales. we wish Jack all the best in his new venture which l am sure will go from strength to strength. we hope to visit later in the year sue & alan Martin

Excellent Site!

We have just returned from a 10 day site on Jack's CL. He was most welcoming and helpful. Couldn't fault the site: grass kept short, clean and tidy, flat hard-standing pitches with EH and water and the bonus of an uninterrupted view of Ingleborough (one of the three Peaks). We enjoyed watching the sheep and cows frolicking from the caravan and even saw a hare running across the field one evening. The day after we arrived they were shearing the sheep in the sheds so there was some baaing!! As it is a working farm it will have some associated noise, but nothing that detrimentally impacts on the overall peace. We were also privileged to have an absolutely fantastic sunset one day. The site is perfect for exploring the Dales, the Lakes and Lancashire. We managed plenty of walks near and further afield. The Highwayman in Burrow is a good place for a meal. Kirkby Lonsdale has a supermarket (Booths, northern version of Waitrose) and there are plenty of independent shops to have a mooch around. Thank you Jack; we hope to be back again in the future.

Great CL

Stayed for two nights in our campervan. A really clean and tidy CL with great facilities, flat hardstanding pitches with grassy spacious areas. Its a working farm but the location is really peaceful and the scenery is something else. Nearest pub is The Marton Arms, 25 min walk away which does great food and real ales. The Punch Bowl is in Burton in Lonsdale and is a similar walk away. This is a good location to explore the area from and we will be returning. Jack and his family , who we met and were great, have obviously worked hard to get this CL up and running. I echo all of the postive comments made by others.Well done.

Great first trip out with our new caravan (used but new to us).

For us, a visit to Jack’s lovely new site was a great reintroduction to caravanning after a thirty year pause. This is a cracking find with beautiful views (once the early morning mist lifts off Inglebrough peak). The facilities are great with each pitch having water, waste and electric hook up within a few feet, the sanitary waste disposal point is conveniently situated near the entrance. Jack is a lovely young farmer working his flock of sheep, running the farm and sometimes working away with neighbours as well as looking after the site, everything is very laid back but don’t be too surprised if there is no one around for any kind of check in. If I had any kind of negative comments, in the happenstance of no one being around it would be useful to have a small sign on the gate confirming that you have indeed arrived at the right location. The turn in is pretty tight with a longer van so a bit of care is needed on entry & exit. Overall a great location for exploring the Western Dales, we will definitely be returning..

Excellent CL

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this wonderful CL. Fully serviced pitches with amazing views all around, what’s not to love. Plenty of lovely walks & 2 very nice pubs within an easy 30 minute walk of the site. The Marton Arms is well worth a visit if heading to Ingleton & the lovely Pen’s Pantry a must for delicious cakes & pastries.

Fantastic CL

Definitely recommend this site. Amazing views fab location and the owner Jack is friendly and helpful. He even allowed our 2 sons to visit the newly born lambs and help bottle feed them. Definitely the highlight of the holiday for our boys. Site is in a fab location with lots to do nearby and you have a stunning view of Ingleborough from your pitch . Would highly recommend and would definitely gp back.

Amazing site

The previous reviewer has said everything we were going to say. Wonderful host, outstanding views and excellent location. We were staying for 10 days and ended up staying for 3 weeks. Many great walks nearby, and cycling and mountain bike routes from the site. Some good farm shops nearby for essentials including Country Harvest which is walking distance. Don't try and close the gates on your own when it's windy, it almost impossible but it will give onlookers a good laugh watching.

Our new favourite CL!

Just back after 5 nights on this fabulous CL - absolutely wonderful stay despite some atrocious wet and windy weather... As the previous reviewer said, the views are stunning (weather permitting!) - on our last morning we awoke to a heavy frost and a dusting of snow on the hills which made Ingleborough look amazing. The CL is perfect - easy to access from the A65 but still quiet; EHU, water & waste on each hardstanding pitch; plenty of space between pitches; not to mention the beautiful views wherever you look! Ingleton, Kirkby Lonsdale, Settle etc. are all within easy reach as are the Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Jack is a great host - very welcoming and accommodating - it was lovely to talk to him and to his grandfather who between them run the farm. For someone who has no experience of caravanning he's established the most wonderful CL in the most wonderful spot. We're torn between writing a rave review and keeping it a secret so that we've got more chance of booking a return visit! Thanks Jack!

Best views ever

This site had just been open a few days before we arrived, so easy to get to, as we pulled onto our pitch... WOW! What a beautiful view. The little CL is in a most stunning position with hills and dales which ever direction you looked in. Jack the owner came to greet us in the afternoon, as he had been working on the farm. What a lovely young man, and so was the rest of his family. Who we had the pleasure of speaking to at different times during the 2weeks we stayed. We had just booked a week at first, but it was so nice that we booked another week, and even then didn’t want to come home. The site is in a really good position to visit lots of places including Lake District so you can never get bored. Ingleton itself is a lovely little village to visit and is within walking distance from the site. We found a little coffee shop called SWEET PETITE in the village it’s coffee is one of the nicest we have had, and it also sells Brymoor ice cream which is delicious, both a must when you have just walked the ingleton falls ( not for the faint hearted ). We will definitely be returning to this site, it has to be one of our favourites. But sssh keep it a secret or we won’t be able to book in as it will be constantly booked up 😊.
