Lovely old CL and would be keen to return if in the area.

This CL is certainly one of the best we have visited and only minutes off the A36. We were working our way back to the north of England from West Sussex and enjoying staying at great old basic CL's like this on the way. The owners here are as friendly as can be and certainly made us feel very welcome. The grass was short and we had no problem levelling our T/A van with small blocks under the offside wheels. The farm sells fresh eggs, something we are always eager to buy. We would certainly stay here again if we were anywhere in the area.

One of our favourite CL's

Been using this CL for 10 years plus. It's one of our favourite CL's and we visit several times per year. The owners are very friendly as is Diesel their lovely black Labrador. No hookup here so you really can relax and unwind and forget about the worries of normal every day life. No marked pitches so you can park where you like which is lovely. Simply priced no hidden extra costs and fantastic value for money. Easy access off the A36 and A361. Plenty to do nearby. Would recommend visiting Shear water or take a walk up to the White horse on Westbury Hill.

A good old fashioned CL as it should be

We only spent one night here as we were off to a University of Bath Open Day (only 20 minutes easy drive from the campus for anyone else interested in staying here for the same reason). What a lovely site! Easy access, pretty field with lots of space as we were the only ones there. No pitch numbers so I'm not sure how it would work if there were 5 vans on site but it did mean we could park where we wanted. We bought some lovely large eggs whilst we were there - always a bonus! Only slight disappointment was the distant traffic noice but for £5 a night it was an absolute bargain. If you don't need electric and are not bothered by a bit of traffic noise, then this is the site for you! We will be back!

Excellent Value CL

Easy to find with good access. A nice enclosed grass site. The owners are very laid back and very friendly. Our two vans (we were with family) were the only ones on site so our dogs were able to run free ad their were no rules and regulations. Obviously if others were there we would have respected this. The owners sell free range eggs from their own hens, which we tried and they were delicious. There are two pubs about a mile away in each direction. We didn't try these but The Bell Inn showed a dogs welcome sign. Southwick Country Park is about two miles away with great walking. There is a nice cafe called Squirrels that serves inexpensive and good food in the Country Park and we stopped there for breakfast and lunch. About 6 miles from the site is Frome, which has lovely walks along the river and free live band evenings every Wednesday. There was a little road noise to be heard at the site and although the grass showed signs of being recently cut it had grown a bit long. Overall we gave this site 5 stars as it is excellent value at only £5 per night.
