Too many rules

A very good CL  field, not many level areas however. Access road is narrow and tricky, particularly as it is used by buses and forestry vehicles. Facilities are excellent but there is a profusion of signage of a threatening nature which doesn't fit in with a CL. This is possibly a spin off from the adjacent commercial site. Didn't see anything of mine host for the two weeks after we had paid. Obviously prefers signs.

Signed Off

The site field is very sloping so caravans need to pitch around the perimeter-make sure you have plenty of levelling blocks. This is a fairly quiet site in the countryside but the owner has signs everywhere warning of the consequences of not abiding by the instructions. He seems to have a particular paranoia about dogs(although he charges an extra £1 per night per dog) and will actually watch you returning from the dog walk to check if you have a bag of poo in your hand. If you haven't he will question you! My dog doesn't poo EVERY time she goes for a walk! If you don't have a dog no problem but we did feel we were being watched

Comment from Community Manager:

Hello Jen47, Many thanks for leaving a review. The CL owner has contacted us because he works really hard to ensure that members have the best possible time on their site and wants to address any concerns raised. Firstly, the information signs are there to help visitors get the most out of their stay and as such we would just like to assure you they are not there to cause offense. During your stay unfortunately there was dog mess found on site and if a dog is spotted fouling the CL owner will either remove the mess or ask that the member removes the mess from the site so as not to impede on other people’s enjoyment. They also ask that dogs are not left unattended or loose on site, which is the same rule on Club Sites. This again is so that other member’s enjoyment is not impeded whilst staying on the site and they do ask that people abide by this. As per previous reviews you can see Windy Hill Farm is in an excellent and peaceful location, which is why the owners try their utmost to ensure members have a relaxing time on their site.

this site is a gem

We stayed for 2 nights in the middle of July . The showers ,toilets and the services were exeptional . The views from the site are over gently undulating farm land .. It is a large well mown field . When we were there only one other caravan was on the field and this was some good 40 yards away .. The owner Mr Maddox was very welcoming and the laundry room has lots of brochures showing things to do . We will certainly be returning .

Beautiful little gem.. Too good to share

Very easy access even in our 7.5 meter motorhome. Lovely large well kept field with spotless toilets and showers and children's play area. Book early though to avoid disappointment. Would hav loved to have returned this summer but they are already fully booked.
