What a find

This site is tranquillity itself lovely and peaceful, and wonderful views. The owner was very welcoming with interesting tales and information about the history and the area. The well maintained site is just up a single track road just off the bypass but we heard very little if any traffic noise, only the comforting baahs of the sheep in the field opposite. The facilities are adequate if basic. There is hook up No frills WC and suitable Elsan. We were the only ones staying this weekend so had the luxury of the whole site to ourselves. There are a couple of nice dog walks from site and the chocolate box village of Ladbrooke across the bypass is well worth a visit If you have two or three hours to spare the village trail is worth following and we rewarded ourselves with a lunch time treat at the local pub. Very pleasant relaxing weekend would definitely visit again.

What a little Gem

What a great little CL this is.The owner gives you a warm welcome and likes a good chat and full of history of the site/area.The site is up a single track lane but only a short distance and hardly any traffic at all.You don’t hear the traffic from the main road so it is very peaceful apart from the sheep in the field Nextdoor but they don’t come near the site so not a nuisance in any way.IF (and only IF) I have got to pick a fault then it would be the WC needs updating but every caravan has one !!!.We booked our next visit before we left.Glad we found this site and worth the stay.

Great, but a little overpriced

This is a lovely, peaceful little site with beautiful surroundings. We are the only unit here, but it might feel tight if the field was full. The owner gave us a good welcome. Access is easy. There is hook-up but it's a no-frills site; the toilet and elsan disposal is all very basic. We're enjoying our stay, but feel at £18 a night (with awning) it's a bit overpriced in comparison to other, many, cls we've stayed on.

A special place

We stayed on this site for one night in our motorhome. We were made very welcome by the owner who could not have been more helpful and friendly. The site is very well maintained and has lovely views. The facilities were basic but adequate in fact better than many sites we have visited in the past. Easy access to water, electricity and toilet. A delightful peaceful stop over.

Tried and tested

We visited this site in the summer and we thought it was going to be just another CL but what a wonderful surprise. The sight is lovely nice short grass beautiful views across the country side and lots of places to visit. The. Facilities are adequate for a CL ie emptying the Elsan and getting fresh water. The owner is very accommodating and helpful and interesting to chat to. There are plenty of places to visit around the area as well. We found it a lovely sight to stay .we had found our bolt hole at long last

Lovely spot but needs attention

As with comments in all other reviews, the field is nice, well located & the owner pleasant but the CL is let down by its facilities and the adjacent A road and flight path above create a lot of noise. The WC is less than basic, having no hot water hand washing facilities adjacent. It was clean & functioned but a fair-faced brick hut dating back to WW2 isn't adequate these days. Add to that the drinking water supply is located in the same hut and the toilet cassette disposal is into the WC with a hose connected to the wash hand basin (non functioning as a WHB) tap to rinse out. A small investment would pay dividends.

Pleasant tidy field, facilities basic but adequate

I chose this CL for its location near the Oxford Canal, of which I walked two sections while here. Tim Seden had mentioned that he may be away when we arrived, which he was, so we needed to ask other caravanners about facilities, but Tim arrived back on our last day and it was good to have a chat with him. The field is tidy and well maintained. The toilet, water and emptying facilities are rather basic, emptying being directly down the toilet and hosing being via a pipe connected to the wash basin. For anyone interested in walking the canal, I advise driving to the Wharf Inn just down the Banbury Road where there is access to the canal as well buses to and from Banbury. The CL is in the village of Ladbroke, and the Bell Inn is to be recommended for high quality meals.

A WEEKEND STAY

Overall a good site although you will need a long EHU cable as the sockets are all on one side of the site. The site is quite and the owner very welcoming. With regard to the toilet block I would suggest that the drinking water tap is moved to the outside of the building. With some changes to the plumbing the provision for flushing toilet cassettes could be much improved. Notwithstanding these comments we would stay at the site again.

Small and homely

Tim was very keen to ensure we had a happy stay. Unfortunately he was unable to see us during our 2 day stay as he had a hospital appointment and was staying away. He kindly telephoned us to explain and gave us as much info as he could re the site and was concerned that we would be happy. The small site is at the back of Tim's bungalow which makes you feel quite at home. The grass was mown and the garden tidy with plenty of informative signs for visitors. The toilet was basic but clean and useable if required. We had a couple of lovely days in the area sightseeing. The only negative comment (out of the owners hands) is that the charming cows in the adjoining field were surrounded by (horse?) flies and we were badly bitten (although we did park right up to the fence). A dousing of insect repellent would sort this if visiting in summer. All in all, a lovely quiet, rural site with a very welcoming owner.
