Loverly little site.ideal for exploring Stratford-on-Avon. Basic but ideal as everything in our van. Good dog walking field where dog can run around. Alcester only 10 mins away in car with great local shops.yes you hear traffic but tv drowns it out..Will be back.went to say goodbye but couldn't see you..cheers chris

Very boggy!

The location of this site is ideal if you want to visit Stratford and surrounding areas. The site is literally on the A46 - we did find the traffic noise obtrusive, especially at night with the roof lights open for some air. We were not told on booking that the site was boggy, and the fact it had not been particularly wet beforehand meant it came as a surprise. Although we managed to park the caravan ok (with a 4 x 4), the jockey wheel gouged a channel and there were a number of dents and holes made by a previous caravan which had got stuck. Had we been told it was so muddy, we probably wouldn't have gone there. During our stay of 3 nights, one caravan, one car and one motorhome got stuck in the mud and had to be towed out by the owner's tractor. Fortunately the weekend was dry so we got off the field at the end of our stay, but I dread to think what might have happened if it had rained. The toilet (shed, complete with spiders etc) was right next to the yard full of junk, so not great, but as we had our own facilities it didn't matter. The views were pleasant, but for us, the traffic noise detracted from that, because it wasn't that pleasant to sit out. We felt that the owner ought to do something about the boggy field - he said other fields drained into it - but with a bit of effort he could put down some hardcore or plastic mesh to make it less of a problem. We won't be returning and I wouldn't recommended this site.

Peaceful site

We came here Friday for 3 nights but have decided to stay a couple more nights. Would stay longer if we could. A friendly owner of this large 5 van site. The field is very big and is grass pitches, which is our favourite kind of site. Easy for any sized van to get into. Up a drive, past the house and through the entrance to the site. The toilet is only just outside the sites entrance, so not far to walk to, it is a large toilet room with basin. The tap and bins are just inside the sites entrance. There is a massive field to walk dogs in and paths through the top of the field for walks. There are shops/food shops Inc Waitrose and take aways just up the road in Alcester and mcdonalds. A woodland walk down the road. Stratford is only a short drive away plus many other villages and places to go. With everything so close by, it makes this an ideal site to stay on or just a good site to have a relaxing time. Wildlife is always good to see and whilst being here, we have seen squirrels walking along the fence across the field, red kites flying over and lots of other birds, in the field behind us, there are deers and hares which we have seen daily after 5.30 pm. We will definitely come here again.

'ONE NIGHT STAND'

We booked this site for convenience to take our 'van for a service to Broad Lane Leisure so were only there 1 night. We were welcomed on arrival and shown the field. It was not lawned and the grass was quite long (perhaps because it was the end of the season!!) It had good views and the traffic noise was not obtrusive. Wasn't told about the WC so didn't venture in there. Some good walks and nice villages close by, good for geocaching. Would return for convenience.

Great little find

Wonderful old fashioned welcome. Everything is basic but perfectly adequate. Great location for Stratford, Ragley Hall, Coughton Court, Evesham. Lots of wildlife to take in and plenty of walking to be done. Alcester is just down the road for supplies, now becoming a foodie town with lots of character. All in all basic but very good.

Easter visit

We visited this site Easter weekend.  Site booked in January where we were told at the time that if there was a lot of rain we would be contacted to make alternative arrangements as the site can get very muddy [no phone call].  We arrived on the Thursday evening, followed instructions on a sign to knock on the bungalow door, no answer, we had to resort to ringing them. Mr Young did then come and meet us on the field.  He was knowledgeable on the area and advised us how to pitch the caravan.  We soon got the car stuck in the mud, which had to be towed out the following day by tractor.  The views from the site were lovely, however there is small amount of road noise.  After having rain on the Saturday and Sunday we asked the owner to tow the caravan off the field with his tractor on the Monday the day of our departure, that was a challenge even the tractor got stuck.  Therefore we had to wait for another tractor to come which the owner had phoned for this took around 40 minutes.  Needless to say I wouldn't advise anybody to visit this site when wet.  Toilet well this was a garden shed lined with plasterboard which wasn't bad but I'm sure it would have benefited from a lick of paint and a clean OK if you like spiders. I don't think we would visit this site again.

Walks on the Wild Side

This is an excellent site for visiting Straford-upon- Avon, with the park & ride 5mins away.or Ragley Hall just along the road. The owner made us very welcome on arrival, and spent time informing us of walks and places to visit. The site is well maintained but you are only a short distance from a very busy A46 ( traffic noisy if sitting outside, but do not be put off) the views from plot1/2/3/ stunning across green hills and wooded areas.TV reception poor need extra arial or take DVD's From the Hand Gate at the front of the property a mowed path takes you around the edge of the field to the marked Bridle Way & Arden Walk follow this across meadow land with wild flowers and Orchids. You then arrive at Oversley Wood a Forestry Comission maintained area, haven for wildlife, and dogs.( we were lucky enough to see a Stag). Lots of different routes and terrains. Takes about 1hour if you do the outer circuit. you may see the odd dog, walker, jogger or cyclist. Twitchers delight, many different Birds seen. Would recommend to anyone who likes walking or has a dog
