This was our second stay at this site. A little oasis of calm and quiet yet with easy access to London. The rail service is a short distance to walk and the new Elizabeth line provides a regular and rapid route into the City of London and Central London. The staff on site are friendly and very helpful and all the communal facilities are maintained to a high level of cleanliness. Besides visiting family on this trip we also explored Lesnes Abbey ( walking distance). Highly recommend a stay here.
Excellent
I was really surprised when arriving at this site. Situated only 5-10 mins walk from the new Elizebeth tube line makes this a fantastic location if wanting explore the city of London. The site is surrounded by trees and wildlife. The signage on the streets could be better, but overall we really enjoyed our 4 days stay at Abbey Wood and will definitely be visiting again.
Surprising stay
What an unexpected pleasure our stay at Abbey Wood was . Wardens cheerful , welcoming and helpful , Facilities clean and placements spacious . Proximity to London attractions perfect , Elizabeth line on the way there (every 5 mins) and UberRiverboat to Woolwich then two mins on Elizabeth line return . Yes there are Foxes but they don’t bother you if you don’t leave stuff around. Parrots flying in the trees were a suprise as was the short walk to Lesnes Abbey woods . Cafe , gardens and still more exploring to be done . Highly recommended.
I cannot believe it’s so convenient for London
Stayed for 6 nights with our motorhome during a very hot spell of weather. The site was well shaded by trees and was spotlessly clean. Friendly and efficient wardens. A short walk of 10 minutes, to a largish Sainsburys kept us stocked up on supplies. The trip from Abbey Wood station into London via the new Elizabeth line was speedy and also air conditioned. About 10 minutes to Canary Wharf. We also did a day trip to Canterbury via St Pancras via a high speed train. Great location for the capital.

our stay
This is a brilliant site if you don't want to drive around.
There is a bus stop a few minutes walk from the site; frequent buses will take you to Woolwich and Greenwich.
Five to ten minutes walk will get you to the station, where the Elizabeth line will get you to London.
There is Sainsbury's near the station too, so you will be able to pick up supplies.
The staff are helpful and friendly. We had a great stay.

Great site
Wonderful site with easy access from M25 junction 1, were towing a car and had no problem with route. Good size pitches although some are sloping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to underground station 22 minutes to Oxford Street, £6.00 return. Large car park by station with Free parking for Blue Badge holders. Site is secure with vehicle gate locked at 22.00, Pedestrian gate is open all night, with car park outside for late arrival and late returns.
Only issue is the Foxes but do not leave things out and no problem. Will definitely return.
Lovely site
Amazing location for its peace and tranquility and proximity to London, the new Elizabeth line is just a 10 minute walk from the site direct into the heart of the city, and even though we were there over the Platinum Jubilee weekend it was never crowded. We found the staff very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, regrettable we didn’t take their advice, when we checked in they pointed out that the foxes were very naughty and advised not to leave anything out, pointing to a box of chewed shoes, we were smug, we’re ok everything was safe in the awning, big mistake, huge mistake, it transpires they can get in the smallest of gaps and sleep on chairs, we’ve scrubbed, pressure washed, dismantled and put the chairs into the washing machine, and still they smell so strong that we can’t use them, so make sure you take the wardens advice and don’t give them the chance

A Revelation
What a great site, now made even better with the opening of the Elizabeth line.
The site itself is a lovely green space in an urban setting. The Wardens are lovely, they keep the place beautifully clean and tidy and nothing's too much trouble.
Central London is now only about 25 minutes away on a clean, bright, spacious and quiet train. This is now the site to stay at in London.
There are just a couple of downsides: firstly satellite reception is poor but they have aerial sockets on the power posts and secondly, Abbey Wood itself is a bit run down with one poor pub and one decent restaurant (the Taj Mahal). There’s a lot of building work going on, however, so give it a couple of years and I’m sure there’ll be more choice.
I thoroughly recommend this site to you.
Don’t tell anyone
Don’t tell your friends about this site or they will want to go as well and there might not be space for us the next time we go back. This site is just lovely. An hour into London on the train and tube (£14.40 for a day ticket all over London) and loads of trains til midnight. We went for a Queens Garden Party and with all this COVID we just don’t like hotels any more. When we did the sums this is way cheaper. Trip from Manchester : about £120 in diesel, 2 nights £76, two days passes on the London Trains so all in bout £240 compared with £400 on the train and some dodgy Travel Inn or similar for another £200. I know which I prefer.
The site is an oasis in big London, spotless, quiet, really nicely laid out, great wardens and so on. But don’t tell anybody, agreed ?
