Good Site

My wife and I are very glad this wonderful site is remaining open for another 3 years, we consider this site to have everything for a family break, not far to walk into Bristol along the dock side, near SS Great Britain and a wonderful eating place named The Cottage within 30 metres walk. The wardens are wonderful and run a very good site in all. Fully recommended, so well done the Club.

Brilliant location

Small site, very good location with pub/restaurant, walking, rowing, sailing, cycling right on your doorstep. Catch a ferry to the town centre or a walk along the quayside for the more energetic, a number of places to eat nearby. Can be noisy at closing time because of the location of the pub, care needs to be taken with children as the quayside has no protection, and the main entrance leads directly onto a main road.

Geocaching holiday.We decided to find a few geocaches in Bristol as they have so many.

We took our bikes with us and hoped for good weather. We were lucky enough to get on this site for four days over the Bank Holiday.We were helped in our booking with Head Office by booking two days with a plot with awning and two days without.Luckily the wardens arranged so that we didn't have to move plots on the third day .Over the few days we had good weather and managed to cycle to Bath and back on the off road cycle track.We are glad to have stayed on this site once more before it closes .The wardens were very helpful and friendly and booked our ongoing site for us .

Fantastic Location

Booked months in advance as difficult site to get into. Well worth it the two days we stayed here. Turned up on a baking hot day but because site is mostly set on gravel & walled in, not much breeze to cool you down. Not a worry for us as the weather changed to wet, wet, wet. Easily get ferry & a boat trip directly through gate onto the river. Love Bristol anyway but what really made it for us and family was the Shaun the Sheep trail, searching for some of the 70 decorated sheep scattered around the city for charity. Every place should have them, as made walking around more fun. Lots more to see & do here. Wardens cheerful & helpful.

Most unusual site

This is possibly the most difficult site in the network to get a reservation since it is always full. This is partially because it is quite a small site with the majority of pitches being for motorhomes. The site is really a big car-park broken up by patches of grass. The attraction is the location which is right on the waterside on the redeveloped Docks. There are many reviews of the site but I have not seen any which mention that as long as you have a river fishing license you can fish for free on the dockside and there are lots of fish both sea fish and coarse varieties since the water is brackish. Perhaps I was a little cruel calling the site a car park but anyway the facilities were immaculate during our visit. Can be a little noisy if you park alongside the back hedge but considering it's location this is to be expected. All in all one of our favourite sites.

Back Again

We were lucky enough to pitch again at Baltic Wharf for a few days this summer. The visit was mostly to see the family, the ferry to Broad Quay and the number 9 bus proved very useful (and would also be for others wanting to explore the Whiteladies Road specialist shops, cafes and the excellent Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.) Try a bit of "Banksy" spotting en route! On the hottest day of the year so far we also decided to visit Brandon Hill and Cabots Tower (Bristol's answer to Scafell Pike, be prepared for a steep climb!) Wonderful views at the top and surprising water gardens in some much needed shade. There is always something new to explore in this lovely city.

Oh, I forgot Shaun the Sheep, right outside the Baltic Wharf gates and many more of him to find on the special charity trail!

Ideal Location

This site is ideal for exploring Bristol. Tour buses stop right outside the front gate and ferries outside the back gate. A pub is right along side the site, you can sit with your drink and watch the boats go by. The SS Great Britain is just a short walk along the quay, well worth the £14 (look out for discount vouchers). This site is a lovely quiet haven in the middle of a busy city.

Harbour Heaven

We booked this site to visit the Balloon Fiesta and expected little from the little site - how wrong we were! Greeted by possibly the best wardens ever our non-awning pitch was perfect. And through the 'Magic Gate' things got even better. Bristol was a complete surprise - the harbour, the centre, the cathedral, the markets, the pubs and the hustle & bustle all a refreshing change for us country folk! I should really have said it was rubbish, so that there were always vacancies for when we return!!!!

Wonderful haven.

We have called to this site a number of times and never been disappointed. However on our visit last week, my daughter received a very rude comment from an elderly motorhome person, who was very intolerant of our two small dogs, suggesting they had fouled on site. Infact they had not; they use the river side walk and we pick-up any mess.
