Another wonderful stay

We stay here as often as time and site availability allows. It's perfectly located for a trip to Bristol and with easy access to a bus stop and water taxis. Our latest visit did not disappoint and once again, Wardens were a credit to the Club. They had done a wonderful job with the lovely flowers and planters - and the 'talking bench' is a great idea.

Friendly, efficient and effective

We received a really warm reception from Lyndsay, I had messed up our booking but she took it in her stride and organised things behind the scenes and went to the trouble of ringing me to let me know. Brilliant service, couldn't ask for more, thank you. The site is small but in a brilliant spot, so much to do within walking distance and beyond. We walked into Bristol and to SS Great Britain which is less than 10 minutes away. We drove to the Aerospace Museum where they have the last concord and to Tyntesfield House. Our car is old and we had to pay the ulez fee but it worked out cheaper to pay that than take the bus. The facilities are showing their age but they were kept very clean and tidy. We will definitely return.

Perfect location and lovely warm welcome

First time stay here and big thanks to Chelle and Lyndsay for everything they are doing to make this site so welcoming. Lovely touches, really loved Geoffrey the site dog’s recommendations! Facilities are spotless and the site is immaculate. So convenient for access to Bristol and took advantage of Chelle’s recommendations for food venues. Would definitely want to return.

One of our favourite sites

Of the many sites we've stayed in, this is one of the best. It's a relatively small, secure and secluded site overlooking Bristol's floating harbour, to which it has direct access through a pedestrian gate. From here, it's a fifteen minute walk along the river to the shops and restaurants of Wapping Wharf, and a little further to Bristol's main shopping centre. Watershed film and media centre is also a short walk away, as is Arnolfini art gallery. The pub next door to the site - The Cottage Inn - does good food. The facilities are clean with ample hot showers and the usual washing up area, laundry etc. The current managers, Lynsey and Chelle, are always welcoming and maintain the site in pristine condition. The only negative thing about this beautiful site is that it's likely to be closed in 2025 for developers to build yet more flats in a city already strained to breaking point with a useless public transport system and heavily congested roads. This will mean the loss of an open space with many mature trees, and it will leave Bristol without any decent camping and caravan site.

Great City Centre Site

We've stopped here several time and really love the location. If you are looking for peace and quite this may not be the site for you. Located in a busy and vibrant city you can often hear sirens and traffic and the general city centre noise, through in for good measure seagulls and sheets clicking against the masts of the boats outside the site. This for us is part of the charm off the site. The Cottage Inn right next to the site is great for some afternoon drinks sat watching whats going on the harbour. From the site you are right onto the flouting harbour, from there you can walk all the way around with great bars and restaurants half way around. Full marks to the Managers on site who do a great job of keeping an old site in the best possible condition they can. It will be a true loss to the site network when the lease finally runs out, until then we will keep coming back.

Perfect city break

Excellent location for a city campsite although it is a little like a car park. The towpath outside is perfect for getting into the city and there is also a bus stop not far. The site stewards Lynsey and Chelle were really helpful, very professional and they are a real credit to the club network. Would highly recommend this site for anyone wanting to visit a buzzy vibrant city, with more restaurants than anywhere I’ve ever been!

Great location for a city break

Visited this campsite for 3 nights in March. It’s basically a large car park with a (too) small facilities block but it is very well located. You can walk out of the back door and around the docks area, walk to SS Great Britain which is well worth a visit, walk ( or cycle) along the Avon to underneath Clifton Suspension Bridge and walk or catch a bus from outside the site to the centre and old part of Bristol. What more can you want from a city break.

Just had two nights here, it's a lovely well keep site bang in the middle of Bristol, easy access onto the docks and perfect for walking. It is such a shame that it could be gone after December and be turned into apartments as ther

Thank you to 'Chelle and Lyndsay at Baltic.

We have just returned from a six night stay at Baltic. This is a site we love and have visited several times every year for ages. There is so much in the area to see and experience. Ideally located for the city with wonderful walks and views. lots of places to eat and a trip up Brandon hill with a picnic at the top overlooking the city is a must on our visits...weather permitting. The site sadly has been under threat of closure for so long now (so short sighted by the council) and consequently has felt neglected, unloved at times and in dire need of an upgrade. However, on our visit last week we were so uplifted by the current wardens efforts, with we feel is probably done on a limited amount of resources, how the site was when we drove on. 'Chelle and Lyndsay have and are each day putting in so much effort....the site actually feels loved. Little flower pots around, bushes tidied, spotless facilities and a great amount of information in the hut, that we in all our visits have never seen before. There were some brilliant bus maps which showed every route and bus for the city that you could possibly need. Lots of little touches that make the visit so much nicer. Thank you 'Chelle and Lyndsay, so good to have you there taking care of us and hoping you are still there when we next return.

Great site for a couple of nights

This is the second time we have stayed at the site, this time benefiting from the one free night voucher offer. The site is in a great location for visiting Bristol even if it can be tricky to navigate to the site initially. I checked the route with Google Maps and Streetview which I found worked well. Cycling: We took our bikes and cycled out to Pill along the track running along side the south side of the river, easy to find and traffic free. It was a little muddy so I'd recommend a gravel bike or hybrid bike rather than a road bike. The cycle route from Bristol to Bath is great and traffic free, easiest to find your way to Temple Meads Station and then pick up the signs for the Bath cycle route from there. We returned from Bath via the A431 past the Cadence Bike Shop and Chelsea Road cafes. The A431 wasn't busy and provided good views over the valley, we rejoined the cycle route at Bitton. Eating Out: I'd highly recommend Noah's Fish Restaurant within 20 minutes of the site, excellent and well worth a visit, check out the Early Bird Menu. There are several good restaurants in Bedminster close by, Yafos is a great vegetarian restaurant with a middle eastern dishes. Souk Kitchen is another great restaurant again with excellent middle eastern meals. Enjoy!
