The Best!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Brecon Beacons Caravan and Motorhome site in September 2024, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I booked the trip when the weather forecast was absolutely perfect, and it certainly added to the overall charm of the stay. However, even without the beautiful weather, I can confidently say this site would have been just as enjoyable. One of the standout aspects of my stay was the incredibly welcoming staff. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel right at home. They were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. Whether it was offering advice on the best local spots to visit or simply checking in to make sure everything was okay with my pitch, they truly went above and beyond. The site itself is beautifully maintained, with a wide variety of pitches to choose from. Whether you're in a caravan, motorhome, or tent, there’s a spot for everyone, and each pitch is spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The grounds are clean and well-kept, with plenty of greenery, giving the site a peaceful and scenic atmosphere that perfectly complements the surrounding natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons. One of the highlights of the site is the shower and toilet block, which is of an exceptionally high standard. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority here, and I was really impressed by how spotless and modern the facilities were. The showers were warm and powerful, and the entire block was maintained throughout the day, ensuring a pleasant experience at all times. Another great aspect is the value for money. Considering the quality of the site, its amenities, and the stunning location, the price is incredibly reasonable. It’s hard to find such a well-run site at this price point, especially with the level of service and cleanliness that’s offered. As for the location, it couldn’t be more ideal. The site is just a stone's throw away from the charming small town of Brecon. Whether you want to explore the local shops, enjoy a meal at one of the quaint restaurants, or simply take in the town’s lovely atmosphere, it's all within easy reach. And, of course, being so close to the Brecon Beacons National Park means you’re perfectly positioned for walks, hikes, and all sorts of outdoor adventures. Overall, my stay at the Brecon Beacons Caravan and Motorhome site was outstanding. The combination of welcoming staff, immaculate facilities, great pitches, and the unbeatable location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting the area. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return!

One of our favourites!

We love this site and were very happy that we managed to sneak a night here during our last trip to Wales. Really friendly, efficient wardens on arrival. We knew where we wanted to pitch so breezed through. Lovely large hardstanding pitches with EHU. Water and elsan disposal close by. 2 toilet/shower blocks both spotlessly clean. A bit of road noise during the day but it didn't bother us. Lovely walk along the canal (once you've crossed the main road) into Brecon. Plenty of things to see and do and choices of places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay again will keep coming back!

Why have we not been here before?!

Members for over 30 years, somehow or another we’d missed this site. Definitely our loss until now. Facilities excellent and having 2 loo blocks always enhances the ability to relax without any need to keep an eye on the time in the mornings. Dog walk as others have said is prob the best on the network -partic when you have a springer who loves, trees, grass and water to splash in. Don’t have any kids but the play area including plenty of space to kick a ball about also looked excellent - well my inner child thought so! Shops 5 mins away by car and 30 mins or so walk away via the canal side towpath. Can also make a circular walk using the riverside path which is handy for those pottering about days. The tourist information centre in Brecon is excellent, one of the best and most friendly we’ve been to with information to suit every pursuit. As walkers we found some good books and leaflets which had a number of easy 3-5 miles walks in so the spectacular scenery could be enjoyed without having to necessarily take maps and compass! Yes there is road noise but frankly if you live somewhere where there isn’t these days then you’re lucky. And the advantage of having the roads so close means it doesnt take very long to get anywhere either. We actually found a nearby unit more of a disturbance with their 6 - yes 6 - dogs yapping night and day. And who on earth put dog poo bags in the loo block internal bins which obviously prompted the need for a note requesting the proper dog bins were used instead . Some people need to take a good look at themselves. A bit of consideration for others by everyone is all that’s required. The wardens deserve medals. But as unfortunately this is not unique to this site, we’ll def be back!

Great Location, best CAMC dog walk

Great location, easy to find off a main road (no twisty tight lanes). 5 minute drive, 30 minute walk into Brecon. Staff were really helpful. Facilities are excellent and really well maintained. The dog walk is perfect for an early morning stroll, my dog loved the stream. The Dog Wash area is really handy before returning to our pitch. Had a meal at the Three Horseshoes Inn which was delicious and only a 15 minute walk. Perfect location to explore all of the Brecon Beacons in all its glory. The mountain Railway was a great experience and the Narrow Boat Hire from Goytre Wharf was our family highlight. I would highly recommend this site.

Love this site....but noise issues this visit!

We stay here regularly and on this occasion we stayed 5 nights. It`s usually very quiet and peaceful ,however, on our last night a van on the next row to us chose to play music outside of their van for several hours throughout the evening and beyond 11.30pm.Their choice of music was not the issue and it was not hugely loud, just too much for us to read and be comfortable to chat outside and we could also hear it inside our van and so made sleep difficult. I think people don`t realise that not everyone likes to hear music all the time when outside and certainly not when within their van. I do wonder if we were the only people onsite to have had this issue...perhaps we are expecting too much! I did note from the site map:- Noise Be mindful of noise levels at all times, and ensure that you don’t disturb other guests after 10pm. Keep musical instruments, radios, TVs, etc. at a considerate noise level. Having said that, this was a rare occurrence(hopefully) and we will continue to use the site which is so very well maintained, spotless facilities, wardens who work so very hard, and a lovely location.

Great site great location

A lovely welcome from the staff and a lovely well kept site. The staff seemed to be busy all the time, emptying bins keep the water points clean and obviously keep the wash areas spotless. Would have liked more of a view of the mountains but the cloud was down for much of my stay and the Beacons only appeared briefly. The bottom part of the site, closest can suffer a bit from road noise but it wasn’t enough to disturb. Very easy to get into Brecon and there is a lovely peaceful canal side walk. I combined a recommended circular walk with the direct walk into Brecon which was lovely especially watching the boats navigating the lock. It has one of the best dog walking areas I’ve seen on any campsite. A small complaint about fellow campers and dog owners - please clean up after your pets and keep them under control as requested. It’s not difficult.

Great site, Great location, Great Facilities, Great Staff

Brecon Beacons Club Site was the 2nd site we visited on our recent trip to Wales, we stayed for 4 nights. On arrival to the club we were greeted by a staff member who gave us some good advice about the site in relation to the toilet blocks, dog walk and also areas that got sun in the morning or in the evening. We ended up on a pitch to the North West of the site, the pitch was a hard standing and was flat and level with plenty of space for our van, awning and car. The only slight gripe I had was that in this location, you did get some noise from A470 road, especially in the morning. We tend to look for pitches with grass area's around them, which this had, which suites us as we like to have our dogs outside (tethered of course), and they enjoy being nosy watching people walking. In relation to dogs, there is a really lovely dog walk to the south end of the site, and if you want to go a bit further there are directions from the dog walk along to the village of Groesffordd where you will find the Three Horse Shoes pub which is dog friendly, has a lovely beer garden and serves fabulous food. About the site, it is large with 100+ pitches and 2 toilet blocks, however we never felt that the site was crowded at all, despite it being busy when we were there. There was a great variety of pitches, from what I could see, all looked in good condition and the site itself was clean and well kept. In relation to the facilities, these were immaculate, for such a large site, no matter what time I used the facilities they were clean and tidy (some times I wondered if anyone else used them... it was that quiet in there!!). In addition every morning the staff would be out cleaning all of the water and service points. I was very impressed with how well this site was looked after by the staff. On the location, this is a fantastic place to explore the Brecon Beacons, Brecon itself is a 20 minute walk away down the canal tow path and the town itself has plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. If you are more of the adventurous type, then Pen Y Fan is 15 minutes drive away. There are lots of walks right out of the site if you want to stay on the flat and I would recommend the walk to Groesffordd and then down the canal towards Brecon town. We found a spot for some wild swimming in the River Usk (you can see the photo location on the sites club photos). Overall a great site for relaxing or exploring, beautifully clean and tidy. We will definitely be back.

Dissapoited

Sorry to say that standards have declined at this site . The grass hand not be mown around our pitch . Weeds on the pitch the fencing hadn't been painted for some time around the site . Closure of the small but very well stocked shop is very disappointing . Given the price of pitches I would expect more effort .Most of this work should have been carried out in the closed season .
