Not for us

Whilst recognising the popularity of this site, we wouldn’t stay again because we prefer smaller sites. This one felt to us like a giant car park. We camped close to the reception which was brightly lit throughout the night. We prefer less light pollution. However, as with all club sites we have stayed on, toilet/shower facilities are excellent and well maintained and staff were helpful and welcoming.

Return after 4 years

This was our first visit back to the site after 4 yrs, we booked a 3 night stay Fri until Mon, we were very happy with what we found after the extensive refurb, we booked a serviced pitch and stayed on the new top site, the spot was so quiet for such a large site, the pitch itself was very spacious with plenty of green space to sit out our pitch backed onto the play/camping field. There is plenty to do all round the area, we never used the car just leisurely walking the hot weather always helps, this meant a we had good reason to call in at the Ship inn Sewerby added bonus live Sunday music in the afternoon. We will definitely be returning to this large but quiet site. Another thumbs-up to the hardworking wardens. 👍

Good base to visit local attractions .

Stayed here many years ago . Decided to revisit ( child free ) . 5 night stay before moving up to Penrith site . Very quiet could hardly hear road noise . Good base to visit all coastal resorts . Book in was slow , vans backed up onto busy road both ways at 1 30 . Only one warden doing full booking in . 6 Wardens on site . Maybe could have checked your booked in and taken your membership card and let you pay when pitched . Have done this on other sites when a lot of new bookings expected on site at once and it worked well . Would have saved major back up of vans . Facilities very clean and well kept , grassed areas mowed constantly starting at 9 15 am . Went out for the day , had a call from female warden to say she had accidentally caught our TV Ariel ( bought at a caravan club site ) in the mower but staff at office would sort us out . Indeed 3 meters of wire and the connection were ruined , took it to the office - another warden said they could not replace it as they did not have any in stock but would sort it out the next day . Next day we were leaving with caravan loaded and met another warden on way out who said they still had no replacements but he would give us his own Ariel lead if we waited 30 mins . Where he thought we were going to park up fully loaded for 30 minutes I have no idea . We drove away more than annoyed that they had not even tried to sort this out before we left . Had to buy another lead before going to Penrith . Will I be returning ? - No .

A raving fan of this site.

Another fantastic week at this site. Location is superb for walking and beaches/cliff tops are close by. There is a great choice of pubs/restaurants in nearby Sewerby, Flamborough and Bridlington. The site is well managed and maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The dog walking are is a good size and fully enclosed. TV booster points give perfect reception and WIFI is spot on. A perfect break away from reality. Already booked to come back.

Excellent site, great area!

This is one of our favourite sites and we enjoy visiting every year. The site is very open and sunny with very clean, modern facilities. The dog walk is very pleasant for occasions when you don’t want to leave site. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk across from the site that goes via the golf course to Danes Dyke. You can also drive the short distance to Sowerby if you prefer not to walk on the road (there is no pavement) … here you will find plenty of parking with direct access onto a huge grassy area that is ideal for an impromptu picnic and options to walk in towards Bridlington or in the opposite direction towards Filey. The walk to Filey and out on the Brigg is amazing and there are lots of opportunities for taking beautiful photos. Flamborough is a very short drive away if you fancy some crab from a local fisherman and nearby you can visit Bempton Cliffs (I believe this is RSPB sanctuary) where you can spend a pleasant few hours. At certain times of year you can see puffins, but there is no shortage of other birds to entertain enthusiasts. There is also a gorgeous walk at Flamborough head. The cliffs are stunning and has always been brimming with birds when we visited. The area has a lot to offer and the site is superb. We have always found the wardens warm and friendly and the facilities spotless.

Didn't want to leave!

This was the first time at this site and it certainly won't be the last (already booked up for a few weeks time) - wardens, cleanliness, access, site itself and off site walks are faultless and ticked all of our boxes! Staff are friendly, always smiling and chatty, site was kept well maintained, extremely clean. Pitches are level and plenty of space between the next one. Farm shop in good walking distance, as is Bridlington if you have the walking legs - we walked out across the golf club, in to bridlington and back to site via Danes Dyke - which is beautiful! Actually didn't want to leave, in fact would have quite easily stayed longer if not for work commitments - cannot wait to be back!
