Fantastic Holiday

We have just left Bingham Grange, having had a wonderful stay there. Staff were lovely at all times. Toilets and showers spotless. Pitch was beautiful. Some visitors would need a few lessons in hygiene, toilets spotless as I said, but unfortunately People abuse same! then have the cheek to complain! It’s very easy to look behind you and clean up, thus leaving it as you found it in the first place! Spotless! The laugh is, all mature people too! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Bingham Grange.

Good location, shame so much needs doing to bring up to club standards

Have just spent 6 nights at this site, it is well located for visiting the area,it is just a shame the previos owning company, did not have the common certacy to advise those who had booked their chosen pitches , ( which also means some pitches being not available waiting for the booked occupant at times) , that that they had sold the site ,as the cc wardens have been at the end of some very nasty remarks from previos site visitors, who it seems were allowed to pitch as they pleased on some pitches , that if a fire had occured would have spread easely to other outfits, The facilities are very clean but under stress at busy times,as most are "family?"rooms with toilet shower and hand basins so timing is needed if wanting to use There is only one toilet emptying point and if pitched at the lower part of the site there are some frsh water points but no waste water point, you have to drag your container to the only one which is not on that area but in a yard some distance from the majority of pitches and as noted in the information the EHUs are 10amp, On the plus side it has a great dog walk in the woods and down to the river This will be a great site when the club have dragged it (with much cost?) into the high standards and customer friendly site that most members expect of club sites Well done the site team for all their work and friendliness under at the moment a "difficul2time

Will be good site when up to CMC standards

Visited this site a few weeks ago for the first time, and had an enjoyable stay. Obviously different from the normal club offering, and any possible future changes seem to have upset the previous users of this site, according to other reviews. Other members visiting now, need to be aware that the wardens are allocating pitches on arrival, not to be awkward, but because the CMC are honouring the bookings made when this was a commercial site, and some pitches do not have the correct H&S spacing. This means the pitches with views down the valley are all occupied. The WiFi problem appears to be on the same lines, as the CMC are apparently honouring the previous owners WiFi contract. The shower block was adequate currently, due to the large number of service pitches, but come the school holidays, possibly not. The Buzzard Resturant was a pleasant surprise, hope this facilty is patronised sufficiently to keep it open for future years. Basically bar with good quality food.

First Time at this newly acquired C&MC site

The site is very peaceful and not too far from Bridport and West Bay. The facilities were spotlessly clean and, as some have said, did not look like a standard C&MC club site but then it had only recently been acquired. The wardens were great and do seem to have suffered some pretty nasty 'feedback' since the site was taken over. Having been an adult only site there is nothing for children on the site of course. It seemed like an old farm and reminded us of a good quality French Municipal site. A plea for improved road signage on the approach please. We missed it first time with the caravan on the back and pretty much did the same on the other two returning days. Very happy with our stay.

A Terrific Week

We have just returned from 7 nights at Bingham Grange, having previously booked months ago, before it was bought by the C&MC. So it was such a surprise to learn of the Club’s acquisition. Firstly I would like to comment on the Wardens. We have always found the Wardens, no matter on which site, to be cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and most friendly. But I have to say the Wardens on this site are all that PLUS. They were amazing, given that they are dealing with some unusual situations on a site which is not (yet) up to Club standards. Well done to each and every one of them. They are certainly going that extra mile to clean the facilities, mow the grass, clip the hedges etc.and still have time for a joke and a smile. We have stayed at Bingham Grange several times before and like it for it’s peacefulness, proximity to many lovely beaches, towns etc in such a pretty part of Dorset, and for the brilliant doggie walk. So we will look forward to seeing the refurbishments made in the coming months/years (?) by the Club which can only improve an already lovely site.

A good find

We booked the site last minute on the way home from a trip and did not realise the cmc had recently taken it over. We were allocated a pitch due to our Motorhome size which was not a problem. The site is lovely a fantatic dog walk and an on site bar/restaurant which was a real bonus. The food was excellent they don’t allow dogs but we ordered the food with the option of using our own plates or being put into takeaway boxes. We used plates that were well wrapped and enjoyed piping hot delicious food in our van. I hope the club keep this on. I am sure the cmc will be sympathetic with the upgrading of the site and will make the necessary updates. This is a site we will definitely be back to visit.

Surprised at the Club

We've stayed on this site several times over the years when it was "Adult Only" and it appears little has changed since being taken over by the Club. Many of the pitches, which you could pre-book, are very tight and you will struggle on some of them to get a large unit, awning and car on. So I'm surprised the Club opening the site before developing it. Likewise the toilet facilities. I would call them "adequate", when the site had only 2 persons per pitch. Now it's open to families I think they will be found wanting when the site's full. Plus, the toilets have been "tired"for some time and need updating. I can see this being a great site in years to come, there's plenty of room to expand, but it needs developing to get up to your normal Club standard.

Bridport Bingham Grange

We have stayed here previously and enjoyed it's peace and tranquility and on our most recent visit from 21st to 25th May very little had changed although we did see C&MC people walking around with clipboards! My concern is that it wasn't "broke" but the C&MC are going to spoil it by "fixing" it! From our perspective, the site was pretty much near perfect and has already been changed for the worse by the decision to remove the "Adults only" restriction. Presumably, the next stage will be a childrens' play area and children in the small restaurant. I'm not anti - children. We took our three caravanning and will be taking the grandchildren as soon as they're old enough but the option to go somewhere decent, where there are no children, was really appreciated.

Please don't lose what made this site so exceptional. Please!!!

As Caravan Club members for some time this was one of the few non-CC sites we used to go to regularly. As an Adults-Only site we loved the peace and tranquility, the dog walks were exceptional and the “Piece de la Resistance” was the wonderful restaurant “Buzzards”. At first we were delighted to see this was now going to be a Caravan Club site. That would be the best of both worlds. But we hope it won’t lose the essence of what attracted us to it in the first place. Namely the Adults-Only environment and most importantly that wonderful restaurant, which now doesn’t even get a mention in the CC website. I sympathise with the members whose bookings were messed up – but please, Caravan Club, don’t lose the basics of what was a truly lovely site. It could be a real Gem of a CC site – but don’t lose what made it so great in the first place.

Disappointed II

As the previous comment, had a message left on my mobile the night before we were due to depart to say they did not have a pitch available after we booked it on the web two days previous. We actually cancelled Crossways site to go here but I won't make that mistake again. Lucky enough we contacted Crossways and they found us a pitch after we explained our predicament. Again, as the previous comment we have still not had a satisfactory reply from CMC.
