Nice site but busy during school holidays.

Clumber is a great site easily accessed with the bonus of plenty of off road bike trails-traffic free and mostly flat. There is a National Trust site to visit in the park with shops, cafe and a walled garden. Also bike hire is available. The site and its facilities are of the standard you would expect from the Caravan Club and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a secure lock up facility for bikes and a public phone box. There is NO mobile phone coverage in the park which depending on your point of view is either a blessing or a curse! For TV reception you will need a 15m cable to plug in to the electric  point-availble from reception for £15 cash.  A Supermarket is a short drive away from the site. You need to be aware that this is a very popular site for families and is very crowded at W/Ends and school holidays.Sadly the kids don't understand the territorial rights of your pitch or the prohibition of bikes/scooters etc around the toilet blocks. So if that kind of lack of behaviour annoys you avoid school holidays!! Apart from that-Excellent!!

Lovely location

Really beautiful location, excellent, clean facilities. Staff very friendly although (as I find with many Caravan Club sites), not willing to put themselves out too much. Would stay here again for the location.

Excellent for families

A great site for families, plenty to see and do around the site.  If you want peace and quiet this site is probably best avoided particularly during school holiday times . The site itself is great with friendly wardens and great standards.

Avoid if travelling late

Stayed overnight enroute. Please note that no arrivals admitted after 8pm. Not made very clear whilst booking. Called to inform wardens we could arrive slightly after this time and they were blatantly unhelpful and a unwilling to assist. There are only 2 LNA bays so not much comfort there. We managed to arrive on time but felt as though we were an inconvenience. Site was very pleasant but made to feel unwelcome. Needed key for showers but that wasn't explained on arrival so very inconvenient in the morning and met with attitude when asking for the key. Shame as site seemed lovely.

Clumber stay

Excellent site. Note my mark for peace and quiet only applies on weekdays, from Friday evening through to Sunday the site (and the Park) gets very busy. Facilities are fine but I don't agree with the Wardens practice of shutting off facilities when the site isn't full, this means you can still end up queing when there are facilities not being used. When we were there last week 2 of the 5 showers in the nearest block along with 3 of the washrooms and one wc were closed off. Clearly doing this gives the wardens less to clean but but aren't we entitled to use of the full facilities? I don't consider this to be good practice.

Lovely site - Shame about the welcome

We arrived on Friday to be told by the lovely lady warden on reception that they had a bit of a panic on because someone had just 'tailgated the barrier', so we were booked in in between her speaking on the radio to the wardens out on site who were trying to sort out the situation. Unfortunately, she omitted to ask us not to pull forward to the barrier as it was this one that had been damaged. One of the male wardens who was stood at the barrier gestured to us in the most rude way, waving his arms about, and shouting at us to reverse back and get out of the way. He was unbelievably rude, yes there was a bit of pressure on but we did not deserve to be treated like that, we did nothing wrong and yet were meant to feel like naughty children. Terrible behaviour from a warden and it really put us off our stride... Apart from this, lovely site, fabulous area, nice clean facilities, just as you would expect from the CC.

Great Weekend

This was our first weekend staying staying at Clumber Park and we absolutely loved the site. The wardens were friendly and welcoming. We had a pitch near to the playground which the kids loved. We had a hard standing pitch and must say that the whole site had a great feel of space and not being crammed in considering the site is pretty large. All facilities were nice and clean. Obviously it goes without saying that you're in prime position for exploring Clumber Park (if your not a national trust member you just need to show your caravan site key fob for free access). We would recommend having fish and chips from the van that's on site on Friday nights.... the whole family had a great time and the dog walk is the best i've ever been to on a site. Will defiantly be returning again soon.

Mixed Weather

What a fantastic site. We had a week of mixed weather, but we put on the waterproofs and did plenty of walking for the first two days. The next few days dry, So out came the cycles, Great place for cycling and walking. The site and the wardens are just great, We will be back and honestly cant wait. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED...

Autumn weekend

First visit to this site- normally avoid CC sites as they tend to be very busy- however, we were lucky (given some of the other reviews) with very few loud children on site. In fact, we had a very peaceful weekend (3 nights) on site, despite it being almost full. The shower facilities were excellent and very well maintained- with friendly warden and assistant wardens. The walks around Clumber Park were excellent- and despite the lovely weather (and hoards of visitors) we found plenty of peace and quiet. We will return- probably in winter, to take into account the changing seasons.
