what's going on

We vist this site quiet a lot still no WiFi why not all the masts have been up for some time, when last there 20/08/2015 there was no public phone (out of action) no WiFi & no signal on mobile, Talk about being cut off. Come on Caravan Club get WiFi sorted. Every time we have been Wardens say it's a BT fault. We paid £25 for year not getting value.

Manners doesn't cost

Clumber Pk is a great location, especially if you enjoy walking and cycling. Unfortunately there has been a number of bike thefts on site and a security guard and his tent was set up to police the site for the bank holiday, but not an issue. However great bike shed to lock up. My only critisim is one of the wardens wants to learn some manners. My brother in law parked on our neighbours van parking space (they had gone out) because the heavens were pouring down and allowed them to load the car with their luggage and bikes (5 - 10 mins), when the friendly warden jumps off his tractor and says we have to move. what's hapened to good morning, please, thank you, would you mind. A disappointing way to end the weekend. Thankfully they are not all like him and our experience with the other wardens on site was so different - my young nephew said it all - maybe he got out the wrong side of bed today, because if he didn't maybe he should get a new job where he can be happy.

Clumber Park

We arrived here from Durham CC and were struck by the peace and quiet after the incessant noise of the motorway adjoining the Durham site. Our main criticism concerns the lack of a phone signal and poor WiFi especially at busy periods but this must be a difficult place to serve owing to its location in woodland. A minor gripe is the lack of dropped kerbs around the toilet block resulting in our having to bounce water and waste containers over the kerb to access the water service points, etc.

Get your act together

Reading the recent reviews of other members I agree with their comments so I will not repeat. But I will add that the CC needs to get its act together, re WiFi. The system to register is the worse I have ever experienced and once you have achieved that, it seldom works without problems. This applies at Clumber but seems to apply to all sites. And you charge for it! Site fees are now getting excessive, especially in August; WiFi should be FREE to members, but above all it should be simple to register and log on, AND WORK. Get someone else to run your systems. Why was it so difficult for me to be able to write this review.  Do I really need to have a separate 'name'

School holidays

Stayed a week in summer school holidays with my grandchildren and it was certainly very busy with lots of children, not the site for a quiet peaceful stay. Definitely feel the lack of Internet a problem as needed to keep in touch with children's parents, also had paid for the wifi, and the site quite expensive. The site was clean and spacious although the size of the sinks for washing up are far too small. The need for a key to get into the toilets & showers was also a little annoying as only given 1 key. Overall not the best site  we have used in school summer holidays,Cirencester in 2014 lots better.

Could be better

We've visited Clumber Park on several occasions but things do seem to have slipped a little. It's a beautiful place to stay but in this day and age people do expect to be able to have access to the internet!! Unfortunately on my last 2 visits having already paid for the service I wasn't able to access this. A minor point but very frustrating. I will however visit this site again for the peace, beauty and tranquillity that makes the park unique.

Has been Better

We have used this site before, it was better then! The wardens did nothing about the fact that the caravaners next to us parked their car in our parking area. I have thought the parking rules bonkers for motorhomes for a long while, why can we not park where our car would be if we were a car and van outfit? Next gripe is the WiFi was not working at all. most miffed having paid for a week on another site and not being able to get service, I now couldn't here a weeks worth of cash lost. Otherwise the site was clean but really needs upgrading for the cost and the security is very poor.

Neighbours from hell-right in front of us on 2 pitches

Loud music, abusive language, 9 adults , 7 children, 4 dogs and a parrot plus 3 cars and a motorbike. Loved this site but worst night ever experienced on all sites. Apparently they come every year and are non-members.Will return but will avoid these dates and that pitch which is opposite woodland gate.

Lovely Site, shame about the neighbours!!

Great site, location etc (yes toilet blocks could do with a make over, but very clean). Would have enjoyed it better if some inconsiderate group celebrating a birthday would have thought about others around them. Shame the site manager did not do something about it, even after several people complained about them the following morning. Is there a proceedure to follow regarding this? Would come back and give it a second chance.
