One of the best!

This is a superb site and we echo many of the comments given in reviews regarding staff and location. The site will be very shaded in later spring/summer which would not suit us, so visiting now is perfect if you like the sun (weather permitting). We were very pleased with the quieter pitches upon the upper levels which are also better for sunshine. The staff are terrific and facilities spotless so well done to them! We didn’t need the car for our 5 day stay as the walks from the site including access to Coniston are all very good. The west lakeshore walk to Torver and back is super as are the Coppermines valleys routes. If going up the ‘Old Man’ be aware the main ‘tourist’ route is a difficult scramble in places. Best take the slightly longer ‘Goats Water’ route in our opinion. Enjoy :)?

A Great Stay

A great site, even though its a large site, as it is set within a wooded area, it doesn't feel it. All the facilities were spotless, wardens all very helpful, a well stocked shop. We have 3 dogs and it is ideal as Conniston Water is easily accessable at the bottom of the site - the walk into Conniston is very pleasant - only takes about 30 - 40 mins, local shops and pubs all seem to be dog friendly. We would definatley come back again.

Raining

Beautiful and quiet surrounded by trees must recommend that if weather is wet then try and get a pitch least covered with branches as the sound of the rain dripping onto the roof of caravan can be very loud. Staff were really great and went out of there way to help will return in summer when trees are covered with leaves as then is when this site will stunning.

Spring break

We stayed there for 3 days last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The site is a large one in a wood but it feels like a small one due to the wooded location. It is based next to Coniston water and there is plenty of excellent walking around. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again.

Beautiful cumbria

We have just spent 5 wonderful days at this site. Lovely friendly wardens, lots of options for pitches, toilet blocks immaculate couldn't praise the site enough. Ideal for walking, no need to get into the car, plenty of pubs and cafes within walking distance, will be back again in June.

Lovely Site

This is a lovely site in a beautiful setting. As we were there in March it was very quiet which suited us, however as we don't have children with us we felt that in high season it was probably not a site for us as it would possibly be a lot less quiet. Having said that the scenery is lovely & as it is so near the lake there are some great walks, especially if you have a dog, although they need to be kept on a lead a lot of the time due to all the sheep. We saw deer & other wild life & it is right in the middle of some stunning country side. The staff were friendly & helpful & we recommend it highly.

Great for the Old Man!

A lovely site, steep and awkward in places and a lot of the pitches are gravelled with slate chips but it's the Lakes, what do you expect? A well maintained site with friendly staff. An easy walk down to Coniston, through a field of campers in tents, (a different site) who sometimes don't appear to look after the countryside they have the benefit of camping in! Well worth a visit.

First Trip of the year

Just returned from five nights at Park Coppice. Superb site in a wonderful location. This early in the year it was quiet which made choosing a pitch from the many varied areas on site very difficult - too much choice! Facilities were spotless. Walk to Coniston was excellent. A meal at the Ship was good, some walk on narrow road in the dark however. We are coming back here in June, it was that good. reccommended.

A Gem of a site. Beautiful.

This has to be one of the must visit sites. The site has good roads throughout and plenty of space as the site is well spread out through national trust managed woodland. Staff friendly and very helpful, shop well stocked with the basics. The toilets and all other facilities were immaculate. There are multiple toilet blocks with numerous water/waste rubbish areas all immaculate. I came away for first time to the Coniston area with dogs and family and we will be coming back here many times.
