wowzers!

We stumbled across this site in August last year. .and are so glad we did! We arrived on the 15th Feb for just under a week..( we are still on site). What a truly unique and fabulous place this is. The park is very big however due to the positioning of pitches it has the most wonderful feel to it. The wardens are amazing.  Alan is very on the ball with speeding cars..which as a mum makes you smile inside. Nothing is too much trouble for him and his wife Dee. When we arrived we had a choice of pitches and was told due to half of the park being closed our dogs could have a run off down the bottom..ad long as we cleaned up after them, it's a shame not everyone does this. If you've dogs ( which we have get cleaned up after them)! The facilities are immaculate.  Shop well stocked and always a smile and friendly chat on a morning.  Imo rules are made to keep us all safe and happy. Well done winter wardens.

Great to be back, well almost....

One of our favourite sites, we enjoy the scenery, the lake, the hills, walks and the peace and tranquillity. It was a last minute decision and we arrived in the dark, and the pouring rain on Friday 13th, without incident. unpacked the basics and settled down for the night. Next morning in bright sunshine we carried on setting up. The site warden arrived and disappointingly criticised my parking and suggested "If he was that way out, he could make me move", I didn't rise to it, later that morning, from a good 50 yards away, the same gent shouted across the site that my dog must be on a lead. The fact my fully trained gun dog (less than 2 feet from my left leg) had just been let out of it's cage in my car, didn't seem to matter. The soft ball my children were playing with seemed to be inappropriate too. I've never felt compelled to write a review of this nature before. Often I accept people at face value, they may have had a bad day, or just not like kids, dogs, footballs, poorly parked caravans. The site itself, was just as we remember it from our last visit. It didn't spoil our break, the weather was fabulous for the time of year and the beer in the Ship was great too. All in all a great trip to one of our favourite sites.

Another visit - Coniston Park Coppice

Yet another trip to this great site, irrespective of the time of year - this time early Feb 15. There are still plenty of things to do and explore without going over the same ground. This time we explored the Yewdale fells and made use of the Coniston launch from the Torver jetty - just south along the lake side from the site to get us over to Brantwood and into the Grizdale forest. We will definitely be back.

Nice stay

This was our first stay at this site but might not be the last. Had five nights giving us four really good walking days from the site. Walking into Coniston village is via two paths one along the old railway line the other a bit longer down towards the lake, both very nice paths even at this time of year. Great to hear owls at night and we spotted a pair of "Golden Eye" ducks feeding on the lake a good start to any walk. Nice chips from the van that calls in once a week.

Great Site, Great Location !

This is one of our favourite club sites, it is so special that we visit about four times a year. The route via Torver is a very easy drive ( our Motorhome is 7.45 metres long ), and the scenery on the drive in is spectacular . The fabulous location of this site allows us to walk everywhere without ever moving our Motorhome. Coniston Old Man, Hawkshead , Tarn How's , the list and the walking routes are endless. The Wilson Arms in Torver is a great pub, open fire, fab food and welcomes muddy boots. In a nutshell,if you haven't tried this site yet, it's about time you did !

Never disappoints

Been going to Park Coppice since 1993, this is an amazing site, set in the wood adjacent to Coniston Water. Perfectly situated for walking and the relaxing atmosphere is awesome.

good site but bad roads

the site is in a good place but the main problem is getting there , the roads are narrow and tight bends, also you cant see traffic coming the other way and this could be dangerous if you have a long vehicle (twin axle ) motorhome or caravan , the ship inn was well worth going for a meal and a few jars of ale (ten min walk from site) if you are a good walker it is worth going around the lake but make sure you take a pack up with you
