Lovely Small Site

A peaceful tranquil site, very tidy facilities, and in an extremely lovely location. The access road is a bit tight for larger units, but if arrival times and more importantly departure times are adhered to, should not be a problem. Pitches do vary in size, so choose carefully. Lots of interesting places to visit in surrounding area, from Corfe Castle to the lovely seaside resort of Swansge.

First Class Site

Have just returned from a 12 night stay at Haycraft and what a wonderful place. Site is kept in A1 conditon by the superb and very friendly wardens Trevor and Claire who are a credit to the club. Will certainly be returning. Have to say I do agree with previous review about people turning up before 12 noon and causing chaos in the narrow approach road. Nevertheless a truly enjoyable time.

Exceptional

On site from 16 May..... Site is kept in an exemplary fashion by the wardens. - who are to be commended for the high standards. Site well tended, with spotless facilities. May be a little quiet for families, as there is no playground, but suited us just fine. Plenty ( almost too much ) to do in the area whether you are travelling on foot, by bike or in car. Our only 'gripe' is with members - Why, when the site book clearly says no arrivals until 12:00 - do members persist in arriving early, only to wonder why they meet out bound caravans in the narrow lane, and to cause endless grief with all local traffic?  Not a good advert for the Club! If the site book states an arrival time it's there for a reason.

perfect break

We have just returned from a weeks break at Haycraft site. This has to be one of the best we have stayed at. Location Magical just a short walk to the Swanage steam railway line, bit longer to the bus stop. Site staff very freindly and jolly, site spotless as to be expected at all club sites. We found so much to do that we had to be picky and miss some all of which were just a bus or train journey away

Our favourite Site

This is our favourite site on the network by far. Even with 2 little ones we always find there is plenty to do, it doesn't matter that there is no play park there is a large football field at the bottom and the site is small enough for them to be able to cycle/ scoot round safely. To be honest a park is my worst nightmare as all the children congregate there and then I have to stand and watch! The toilet block is lovely and has had a make over this year which was needed, plenty of hot water and clean. Added bonus to this site is the proximity to the swanage railway and the station at Harmans cross. A real gem

Quite and small

Very quite and peaceful site. No play equipment for children but a large play area at bottom of site. Toilet block is a bit small when the site is full but was clean and warm. Our second visit to the site and will definitely return.

The wrong assumption!

I'm not usually tempted to write a review but I was very disappointed when I read some reviews about this site to such extent that we nearly cancelled our booking. We are very, very glad we didn't. The site is lovely, the Warden's fantastic, friendly and helpful and all in a perfect location to explore that part of Dorset - access to transport is good and the walking, wonderful. So, now to the toilet block - yes it is small, yes it does need a bit of TLC but more importantly it was clean, warm and the water was hot. The site may not suit young families due to a lack of facilities, unless they are steam train nuts but we will definitely use this site again one day.

Quiet and compact site

Lovely quiet and compact site, well maintained to the usual high Caravan Club standards.  Friendly and helpful wardens welcome you onto a site ideally situated to explore the area, so great walking opportunities too.  Not much on site to keep older children entertained, no play area.

Intimate and Peaceful

Haycraft is a small site and all the better for that.  It is half a mile from a main road and adjacent to the Swanage Steam Railway which could be your main transport medium as Swanage has no time nor space for Motorhomes. The station is 200 mtrs from the site but make sure to get your ticket discount from site reception as it is quite expensive. We did the walk from the campsite to Swanage across fields and eventually found the town as the  waymarkers after Knitson are not suitable for dogs. Site amenities are well up to CC standard and it is extremely well looked after. The dog exercise area is among the best we've come across. Our weather was stormy with the motorhome rockin and rollin quite a bit as the site is partially exposed to westerleys. We would stay again.
