Short break

0.8 miles outside Henley this site is ideal for taking walks along the Thames . The wardens are very pleasant and helpful and very clean facilities. There is some noise from the road and overhead aircraft at about 6:30 in the morning .

Perfect location to visit our new grandchild!

We couldn't plan the dates of our stay because babies tend to arrive when they are ready. So we were a little perturbed when we checked to see if there was availability and discovered that the site was full. However, our camper was ready, so we took a risk and set off from Sheffield the next morning. A quick phonecall at 9.00 was answered by the lovely warden and we were in luck! There had been a cancellation and we quickly set up our camper, ready to catch the local bus to High Wycombe to greet the new arrival and proud family. Of course our granddaughter is beautiful but we will be eternally grateful to the staff at the Henley site who provided us with the perfect location to enjoy being grandparents. The staff are superb and nothing is too much trouble.

Great Location

Staff were friendly & facilities kept clean. Great location but what let it down was the exceptional road & aircraft noise (plus generator noise from nearby plant) which kept us awake every night. Unless you are lucky enough to get a pitch at the top end of the site, most pitches are near the road. We stayed at the neighbouring private site last year and that was much quieter as set well away from the road. Shame no area for football unless you hire sponge balls. Henley is lovely and from site we took the train from Twyford to Paddington, London which takes 50 minutes and only £14.50 adult off-peak return at weekends & half price for children. Easy access to Marlow & villages Turville & Hambledon, which are famous for a he filming of The Vicar of Dibley, Midsomer Murders, Goodnight Mr Tom & on the hill the village of Ibstone where you can see the original windmill used in the 1960's film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The local pub in Turville, Bull & Butcher, is amazing -  staff & food but need to book at the weekend. Also close by, Windsor, High Wycombe & Reading. If you want fish & chips, go to Smarts on the Henley Road. Henley has a Waitrose & Tesco. Walkable to Henley main town from site.

GREAT TIME WAS HAD.

We stayed on the site for 3 nights (19-22 Oct 2016). we had a great time. The welcome by the wardens and the advice where to pitch was excellent, we had been to the site before a few years ago, so we had a good idea what it was like. I have marked the site down for Peace and Quiet - this is only because it is near a main road as advised in the Caravan Club book. I have marked it down good for families, as the grass had been re-sown and we were told to keep off -- some people unfortunately cannot read. however, if you have a dog you either have to be great at long jump or walk over it. The remainder was great, we walked into Henley with a great deal of shops to choose from, we found a couple of very pleasant coffee shops with cake. Overall excellent, so much so we will be back in November.

Nice but noisy

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this site. As usual wardens we're helpful and efficient on our arrival. The site is well kept and facilities are spotless. However the road noise and aircraft noise spoils what otherwise would be a lovely site. It's an easy walk into Henley with plenty of eateries to choose from, but care is needed on the very narrow footpath on the busy main road. Waliking it in the dark is not recommended!

Choose our spot carefully

We stayed at Henley for 5 days in October and found it pleasant enough with very little road noise (choose a pitch away from the road if possible). The site information says TV reception is poor, I say TV reception is worse than useless even using the white extension lead into site system picture and sound freezes every now and again (I realise that it is the trees causing the problem but why can't site extend the mount pole so aerial clears the trees). Pleasant walk in to Henley along the main road and it is about 15-20 Minutes to get to the centre of town with many cafes and a good selection of shops.

very noisy

This is the noisiest site we have ever stayed on. The first row of pitches are a mere few metres from the nearside of a very fast and busy road with a noisy road surface as is the childrens play area. You can feel the lorries go by!  It is constant. Henley is gorgeous and walking there is via a narrow footpath on the same road. The noise is less the further you are back so get here early and get one of them if you want to sleep. Site facilities as good as any
