Excellent Site

The site was really clean and well managed, and the staff very friendly. We attended the Rewind Festival and the site was located well for that and for exploring Henley itself. The only thing is that some of the pitches on the road side i suspect could be noisy.

Disappointing

Henley on Thames is a great place to visit. The club site is well positioned as it is only a 15 minute walk into town. However the site is not good at all. The pitches are small, and ours was just wet mud. The road noise was absolutely awful, the entrance barrier card reader for our exit was out of order so we had to exit the car and swipe ourselves out every time. We were very disappointed. We intend to return to the area but we will probably use a commercial site down the road at Hurley, which is the same price and much, much better.

Noisy, busy road

This site is a bit of a disappointment really. Some of the pitches seem small and are squashed in. Not easy to see how to gain access to the grass pitches behind the hard standings. The main road running past the site is very busy and noisy, nobody seems to stick to the speed limits ! Some pitches are so close to the main road it must vibrate your pillow !   This site could do with a re-think and change of layout.  It's also on the main flight path for Heathrow some days, Jets going over every 2 minutes. The idea of an evening stroll into Henley for a meal and a few drinks is spoilt by the threat of walking along this main road. Do so at your peril. Drive in instead. Dog walk is tiny and the alternative is to walk quite a way along the main road for half a mile before you can even access the riverbank. Henley is a nice place. Marlow lovely too.  Nice walking country but not many easily accessed direct from the site

Good for a visit to Henley

The site is attractive with lovely trees. There is a bit of noise from the road, but it didn't trouble us. It's good to be able to walk to Henley from the site, though this is along the busy road - on a narrow pavement. Henley itself is a delight. Good to have a tv aerial socket on the hook up post and also access to the Caravan Club wifi. I would stay on this site again.

Good for exploring the area

Ideal for Henley and surrounding area. Lovely walk along the Thames. The town trail was most interesting and informative. The café at the Rowing Museum was excellent. The site is next to a busy main road, noisy but convenient but don't let this put you off staying on this site. Helpful wardens. Facilities clean but could do with updating.

Bring your ear plugs!

If you are unfortunate to get a pitch close to the road then you,lll be pleased to know that at around midnight the noise subsides (but only until about 5 a.m.) the rest of the time traffic noise is constant. That was the only down side for me, the wardens are really great and the walk into Henley is easy as is catching the bus to Marlow. Both delightful towns, Hemel Hempstead however is perfectly missable. Would I stay at this site again - yes, though I would try and stay towards the rear of the site. There is also a superb walk to be found along the river bank.....walk towards Henley and take the path opposite the rugby club and your on the banks of the Thames with only boats and wildlife.

Henley

A lot of noise from the road, the toilets need sorting out in both the mens & ladies as the toilet flush didn't work correctly, they were blocked on more than one occation. The side is well placed for walking into Henley, which is a very nice town

odd lay out,noisy and crowded

Sould have stoped at the asci site 100 metres before this site. Nice enough but not how the CC web site shows it. odd layout which means it looks and is crowded, is managed as best it can be, but the advertising is better than the site. Dog area abismal.

Great site

This is a great site - small and clean with friendly wardens. It's an easy short walk into Henley. Yes it's by a noisy road but that's a small price to pay for the great location, and later in the evening the road was less busy. Would definitely return.
