Last month September we visited camping Four Oaks(again) for a week. The town is delightful, the surroundings beautyful and we were able to make some lovely walks. When you walk back from the town to the campsite it's quite dark! What we missed this year was the personel involvement of the new wardens. They were friendly, but they didn't show any personal interest. Also there were quite a few problems with the barriers.
I think the wardens should be more visible at the campsite during the day so they can see that some people just let their dogs pee in front of one's caravan.
Good site
Good site excellent facilities only downside was if your close to the main road was noise late on and early morning
Noisy
We use the caravan clubsites for almost 6 years now. This was out first disappointment. Very very noisy. According to the information leaflet a service toilet is available during cleaning hours. Unfortunately the service toilet was not in use, anyway remained closed. Hygienic bag containers in ladies toilet were not replenished during our stay (4 nights). Â Â
Shame about the road noise
Found the wardens very polite and helpful. The facilities were spotless as usual. The big problem is the closeness of the site to the main road, it wasn’t too bad at the weekend but in the weekday peak periods it was very noisy, especially if you are on a pitch that backs onto the road. Also the barrier was a bit farcical, sometimes it let drivers in without using the card and sometimes it wouldn’t. then you had to use the card to get out! I think that needs sorting.
First class site
Our first time at this site. Very impressed with the wardens, the facilities and the house keeping of the site. It is well organised and well kept. It is well placed for Henley (15 minute walk) and for exploring the Children area. Would definitely visit again.
Nice Park Shame About The Warden
On arrival looked a lovley place to stay. This opinion changed in less than 5 minuets when we were pounced on by the Warden who insisted we were speading and had changed into 2nd gear which we hadnt. He then thrust his mobile phone in my face called me a LIAR said he had an app on his phone and he could monitor everyone. I have been a caravan park warden for 17years and know how to drive round a caravan park and I would never speak to a customer like he spoke to me. We have cancelled our booking at this park for Christmas and will never return to any park where this Warden is working. His attitude gives the Club a very bad name.
Update
This is an update to my previous review. The wifi is very poor signal and can take me half an hour to log on. The barrier system is not brilliant. Only CC site we've stayed on where you need your pass to get out as well as in. Already wondering how we'll manage to leave the site with the caravan on then park up in the narrow, short gateway to put the pass in the posting box, all without the barrier crashing down on the caravan !!
A PEACEFUL PLACE JUST FOR US
This was our second visit to Four Oaks Caravan Site, the first being in June 2005, our first ever touring caravan trip. This trip was our first with our new caravan so we were re-tracing our steps. The site was up to the usual high standards set by the Caravan Club. The staff were very friendly and helpful; all the facilities were kept in a smart and clean state and the location of the site was ideal for us, a walk into Henley being as far as we ventured during our three night stay. Although our children have been living away from home for a number of years we are now into the grandparent scenario and, consequently I don't think that we would bring young grandchildren to Four Oaks because there seems little for them to do in the immediate area but would be good for LEGOLAND when they are a few years older.
Overall a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Nice Break
First visit to the site, overall impressions were good.
Friendly wardens who were very helpful. Just a short stay but it was close to the town so we spent time there. Limited venues for food on a Sunday evening but thats no reflection on the site. Will go back again
Great Location
We stayed at this site because it is close to a lot of places to visit. Windsor, Eton and many National Trust places for example. The pitches next to the road can be noisy - the CC handbook states this so we were not surprised but some members are. A well kept site with good facilities and friendly, helpful wardens.
