Site

Large pitches, very friendly and helpful staff, great site layout, good for local attractions. Miles of beach near by, Great pity about toilet water supply in my earlier review Keith J Stafford.

Not up to Caravan club standards

We arrived 1st April until 7th April. Clearly as the other reviews there is a major water supply problem at this site. Due to high occupation when the showers were fully occupied people using the wc did not have sufficient water to flush toilets leaving them in a disgracefull state for other people. The club need to review this site facility water supplies urgently. We will not be returning at any busy times in the future Keith J. Stafford

Not the best - could do with some improvement

We have just returned from a 6 night break over Easter. We arrived on the Wed prior to Good Friday and I am so pleased we did as it filled up quickly from Thursday. We got a lovely large hard-standing pitch, all the hard-standing pitches seemed great. They were just opening the grass pitches the following day after the grass was cut. There are 2 shower/toilet blocks on the site, one located within the hard-standings and one in the grassed area. I have quite a few things to say about these: 1. The are tired and in need of upgrading, even the new block could do with some tender loving! 2. Once the site had filled up, they became very dirty very quickly. I hate having to clean facilities before I use them. I know the wardens didn't dirty them but surely they should keep an eye on the cleanliness throughout the day. 3. Toilet paper ran out regularly, very annoying if you have already been!!!! 4. They kept being put out of order (toilets and showers, even the washing up room flooded!) This just goes to prove they are in need of updating. 5. The cleaning times are ridiculous. The closed the hard-standing block from 1000 - 1100 hours, surely this is the busiest time for them to be used (not a problem for me personally as I am an early riser). The other block closed from 11 - 12 I think. On the last couple of days of our stay, only one ladies block was open, then they closed it for cleaning 1030 - 1200. Again this is quite early as people do like a lie in but the other thing is once people have packed up to leave (by 1200), the last thing they do is go to the loo before they hit the road on their long journey. Not at this site they don't, they can't!! The site itself is quiet what let it down was the noise from the neighbouring caravan/holiday park, it was so loud throughout the day and into the early hours, I felt sorry for those with pitches along the neighbouring fence. As the below review has mentioned there are badgers on the site. As much as I love animals and like to see them they can be a problem. I was awoken at 0100 in the morning by my dog going mad barking and growling (sorry neighbours). I got up to see if we had an intruder and found out we did, a badger in the awning. It had got through a little gap, luckily without causing damage. It had managed to knock over the dry dog food and open the container. There it was brazen as hell munching away, it came back again at 0600 in the morning. I quickly built a badger barricade that day and it never came back. Other down side is the lack of dog walk. The lane outside is find during the day but dangerous at night as it is unlit. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach though. You have to plan your times to catch the water as it is dangerous to walk down to it when it is low tide. We won't be back, but only because we've been and done it! I'm not a big fan of the area either.

Unwanted visitor

Just got back from an Easter break at this site. The site was well laid out and plenty of pitches to choose from. Although we had a good stay and the weather was kind to us there were a couple of problems, the toilets were constantly blocked and on a couple of occasions they were unusable. Also we had an unwanted visitor in our awning during the night it was a badger who overturned our dustbin and pulled out all the items in there ate all the discarded food it was strewn all over the awning floor. Apparently it has been there for some time surely it would be better to let people know about this as if we had known we would not have left any food waste in the bin. I am glad we didn't hear it as they can be quite aggressive if cornered.

Site looking tired

We arrived on the Thursday prior to good Friday, lots of hard standing pitches were full, that was no problem, we pitched on grass as we normally do. The toilet block was very tired, the sink was chipped, wooden shelf cracked, needs a complete overall, then on the Friday 2 of the 3 showers were put out of action, we had to use the newer of the 2 blocks, there were pegs missing from the showers, no where to hang your clothes, to top it all, while the workers were carrying out repairs to block 2. Block 1 was closed for cleaning. We are booked in twice more this year, if there is no change, we may change our bookings

Easter 2015

Not the best site we have stayed at, the grass on the grass pitches should really of been cut prior to the Easter weekend. The Male shower block near the children's play area had one out of three cubicles working, both toilet blocks seemed to closed for cleaning at the same time. Won't be heading back there in a hurry.

Lovely family site.

The wardens are very friendly and the site is suitable for families of all ages.  There could be a sign opposite the entrance as it is easy to miss and drive passed!!  The toilet block by the play area is a bit tired but functional.  Good location to visit Breen and nearby seaside towns.

Easter holiday

Nice site. Away for the Easter Bank Holiday. Not very good as only 3 showers in one of the men's toilet block and 2 were out of order, so had to walk to the other toilet block.  If you park near the play ground, there is a lot of noise from the adjacent caravan park and a lot of aeroplane noise at night.

Superb Site

Our very first trip in a touring caravan and couldn't have picked a better site.  We were made to feel so welcome, and the wardens were so helpful and offered reassurance and lots of help setting ourselves up on the site. Our son loved the Treasure Hunt. Spotlessly clean, lovely hot water for the showers and washing up.   Good play area for the children.   Busy site but plenty of space in between pitches. Can't wait to go back again.

A quiet site but within easy reach of seaside towns.

This was our first visit to this site and we found it met the usual high standards of a CC site. It is in a quiet location and it is an easy walk from the site to a very expansive beach area. It is also an easy car or bus ride to the seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea or Weston-Super-Mare. The area was very quiet at the time of our visit because it was March and the weather was mediocre. However, I can well imagine that in the summer months the area would be bustling as I have never seen as many caravan and holiday home sites in one area!
