2 Weeks in July

CoolWe arrived in the mist and rain, having met the only 1 bus a day coming towards us down the narrow lane to get to the site. The wardens are brilliant and very helpful, and they have time for you. Lovely site, very well kept and clean and tidy.  If it was misty in the mornings all you have to do is travel to Woolacombe and you could find the sun.  The only moan is people travelling at more than 5mph around the site.  We had a great time and would well recommend this site. You don't need toilet and showers blocks when you take your own home with you.

Lovely Site

The site is a delight, very open & well kept, the Wardens are very helpful, it is a bit windy when the weather turns but worth a visit.

14 Days in July

The first thing I must say about this site is that it is extremely clean and well kept. The wardens are very welcoming and friendly. There is a good selection of pitches some with nice views but require a bit of levelling and there are flatter pitches with lesser views. If there is a down side it is that it is sometimes prone to a sea mist which usually clears by mid morning but can sometimes hang around for most of the day, this of course is no fault of the wardens or the club and the solution is to drive out for a mile or two. This however has never put us off this being our fifth visit with a possible return in September.

ilfracombe caravan site

Lovely location. The site was beautifully kept. The management couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.Unfortunately we won't be returning as the constant barking by the neighbouring dogs kept us awake most of the night every night which we found most distressing as its sounds as if the dogs are tethered and left on their own. Perfect Site

We spent a week here in June and it is a perfect little site. More like a large CL, but I have to say it was lovely. Grass kept very well, whole site very clean. We knew when booking there were no facilities offered and didn't regret our stay. The wardens were incredibly friendly and even accepted a delivery for us. Couldn't have asked for more - many thanks to both of you.

Just what we needed

Thank you to Ian and Robin for keeping such a beautifully neat and tidy site, even down to the dusting of the outside of the office, and a very warm welcome when we arrived. Just what we needed after our daughters wedding. Peace, quiet, countryside views of fields, sillage making, and even the fascinating wind turbines, beautiful weather, even the one thunder storm that we had was great to listen to rumbling around us. We were surprised to find it so quiet as it was half term, quite a few children on site but they were no bother to anyone, very well behaved and supervised, happy to skate, cycle, scoot around the one roadway. Very good community run shop in West Down, turn left out of site, everything you could need is stocked or can be ordered, lots of local produce, careful if you walk as it is downhill, coming back uphill with shopping might be difficult for some, there is 1 space outside the shop or free parking just around the corner. The site is very close to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Morthoe for coastal walks or the beach, parking in Ilfracombe after 6pm for evening meal/walk was free! Thank you again for a fabulous 10 days, we will add this to our list of places to re-visit.

A really nice quiet site

If you like club sites that do not have full facilities then this could be the one for you. The site benefits from being in a rural setting yet is close to both the beaches and shops.  Views and sunsets over  Barnstaple Bay are outstanding. Access to the site from the A361 is very easy.

earley break

End of march break, not the best weather but site kept in perfect condition. Very helpful staff. It always surprises me that it seems under used. Possibly because of no toilets or hard standings but give it a try. Lovely views and close to many places . Motor home parking in ilfracombe is hard but drive through the town centre until you get to the swimming baths and stacks of room with lovely views and a great walk to town centre and the headland.

Warden Gold Award!

We have been to this site now for the past three years. We are awarding Kath and Pete, The Wardens, a Gold Award... Not only have they acomplished all that you expect from a Caravan Site but gone above and beyond their duties to help us. We are indebted to them for all of their help, support and guidance, all which came with a smile, even on one occassion when they gave up some of their precious day off to help us out.... Thankyou Kath and Pete... You are Stars and a great asset to the Caravan Club!!

Well I'll be blowed

We stayed at this Site for 4 nights, and we should have realised on the way up the hill with the 3 wind Turbines in view that it was exposed to the weather, but never mind, it will put the awning to test, thank heavens, there's a caravan Dealer just down the road, quarter of a mile, first thing in the morning we were purchasing storm tie down straps, so be warned, if the weather looks Stormy, take heed of the Wardens Sign, "Advisable to Dissemble Awnings" Wardens Kaye and husband really helpful and give warm welcome, great couple, Must be voted as "Best Wardens of the Year".
