Happy Holidays

We have visited this site for a number of years and really enjoy the peace and tranquility. This is the first year we have tried storing the caravan on the site for the summer season, it worked very well for us and the wardens Kath and Pete were always very helpful and friendly. They always let us know in advance if they were going to be off duty on the day of arrival and advising us which of our prefered pitches would be available. It is a shame that the season is so short and we have now reluctantly taken our caravan home but we are already planning for next year! We will definately return to this site in the future

Could not be any better

This is the first time that we have ever written a review but felt to write in praise of the wardens at  Ilfracombe club site. We first came for a 3 week break in 2013 and were so impressed that we decided to take a seasonal pitch in 2014, Unfortunately my husband was diagnosed with liver cancer and had to undergo surgery so we could not take up the pitch until early June 2014. Had it not been for the kindness and helpfullness of the wardens I doubt that we would have been able to stay for the rest of the season . They found us a pitch close to chemical disposal/water point and were continually kind and helpful. We consequently came back for the 2015 season. They are truly lovely people and an asset to the caravan club. The site is always immaculate. We are only so sorry that they are leaving for another site next year where we know that they will be a great success.

Site wardens

I have just read a review of this site and strongly disagree with the comments regarding the warden. This is the seconed year we have been here and the wardens are some of the best we have met over the years we have been members. Like the person who gave the review we arrived on the wardens day off but we had been contacted by the warden previously told that they would be off and an envelope with our name on it would be at the office containing the welcome pack giving details of the site etc. There are some dogs 2 fields away but they can only be heard if the wind is coming from that direction which is not all that often. This is certainly one site we intend to revisit.

Excellent site

First of all we just cannot believe  the previous review We dont know how long thesepeople have been caravaning but it appears that they take alot of pleasing.what do they expect on Devon country lanes or would they like a site adjacent to a motorway !!We have been members for 35years and visited this site along with many others The wardens on this site are absolutely first class. They are always willing  to help anyone, and certainly deserve a few hours off. This typeof ste is perfect in every way for us as we have all our own facilities. Its a very peaceful  site with a short walk to the village pub for excellent  food. A&J Needham plus Barney the Westie wh loves the dog walk

Could be better!

Warden off on Saturday so no one to greet. Instructions left on where not to pitch! Did not get a very friendly reception from female warden, who was not on duty & made that very clear, started our holiday off on a bad footing after we had been travelling for over 4 hours. Dogs in an adjoining field very noisy, sounded like a pack, which was irritating after the first few days. Down a narrow lane which could potentially be a nightmare if you met a van coming in the opposite direction, a caravan arrived at 10 am on the morning we left, what happened to no access on site until 12 pm, fortunately we did not leave until 11am. Won't be going there again, views were fairly good on the top field but otherwise not great. Site is surrounded by wind turbines which could be off putting for some.

Great Wardens

stopped here for 2 wks. The site is kept in pristine condition even though there is no toilet block.Chemical disposal, bins etc cleaned and emptied every day. The wardens were nothing short of brilliant, the most friendly and helpful and a credit to the club. Will be coming back next year.

Summer holiday

We love this site, we are a family of with one child and 3 dogs.  The pitches feel nicely spaced out, although it was no where near full so we had empty pitches around us.  The site managers are lovely and very helpful.  Very peaceful site, I think we were the noisiest! Great price for great facilities, stay here every year.  Great location to drive to Woolacombe each day.

Wet Bank Holiday

Our 3rd visit here and by far the wettest! Site less than half full due to the dire forecast so lots of choice of pitches. Well maintained, good dog walk, plenty of service areas, no toilet block, it's a bit far out of Woolacombe or Croyde if you want the sea & beware parking costs in these two villages are horrendous! Very quiet a few local farm dog can be noisy but no other sounds to worry you at all - very peaceful. Great value too at £12.50 a night. Ideal site for us!

August Holiday

A nice site. Access road quite overgrown. Only real down side: constantly barking dogs.

lovely stay

my wife and I stayed on this site in July this year. Although it had no toilet or shower block facilities which we knew in advance, the site is very well maintained and is quiet and very well sited to explore the surrounding area. The wardens were most helpful. It was also excellent value.
