Short stay - 2 nights

A very pleasant site, well landscaped and obviously well managed with everything as you would expect in a top quality site. A wide variety of pitches and even though we booked at the last minute and there were only 2 pitches remaining, out pitch was spacious, level and a good size. It's great to see the site giving members space and privacy rather than simply squeezing as many pitches in as possible. Recently renovated toilet block is excellent. Showers are fantastic - good water temperature and pressure. Well designed with lots of space and hooks to keep your clothes / towel etc and to get dried and changed in comfort. The local town is just a few minutes walk and has plenty of places to eat and drink. Surrounding countryside is beautiful for walking and lots of other places you could visit a short drive away. We've used this site before and will definitely use it again.

My new favourite site!

We had 3 nights here in January. The site has been completely refurbished. The grass may take a while to establish, but the rest is immaculate. The new toilet block is amazing - we usually use our own facilities but couldn’t resist the lovely hot showers. The jury is still out on the murals! Great location - walks along the canal and aqueducts. Chirk castle was closed but we still had a lovely walk in the grounds. Chirk is a small town, but walkable and has everything you need. You can get the train into Chester (we came here from Chester Fair Oaks but wish we’d come here instead). Very peaceful site - just the rather vocal owls at night! The highlight of our stay here was the visit to the British Ironworks Centre about 9 miles away. Fantastic sculptures - we would have stayed all day if it hadn’t been so cold and wet! We will definitely return.

Great stay in January

This was our first visit to this site and we'll certainly be returning. Location was really good, short walk to Chirk village and shops/restaurants, even shorter walk to the train station and bus stop. The grounds of Chirk Castle border the site, though the castle itself wasn't open during our stay but the grounds are lovely. The new toilet block on site is fantastic, warm, clean and able to be cleaned while still in use due to its design. Beautiful enlarged photos taken by members decorate some of the walls, a great idea.

Simply Awesome

This is our third time at Lady Margaret's Park. The first two visits were simply great. The location, the trees(!), the layout, the facilities, the staff....everything just perfect.......how wrong (yet right) we were......because since the recent renovations.......NOW everything is beyond perfect! What a Site! Everything has been improved upon. And the amount of work that must have gone into the redesign and update.....! This is how Club Sites should be. And the Welcome from the Site Staff was incredible. Will we return? Too right we will!

Lovely peaceful site

We visited this site on Boxing Day for a couple of days. What a lovely quiet site. We had a serviced pitch - all the pitches were spaced out well. Facilities are new and were immaculate. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great walk up to the adjacent castle and around the parkland. We also had a walk to the aqueduct and viaduct. I was a but unsure about visiting chirk as my work takes me to the kronospan factory which I thought dominates the area. Luckily I was wrong - there is so much more to Chirk! - what a lovely place. We’ll definitely be back to explore further.

Missed Opportunity!

One of our favourite sites, out of season, when it’s quiet, but what has been done here in the time it takes to build a small housing development? Well apart from a new toilet block, a garish plastic play park for the little darlings and basic services to only the pitches around the perimeter, not a lot! We’re unable to comment on the new facilities, as, like the old one’s, we never used them, however, I’m sure they will be top notch, unlike the adjacent play area that replaces the “in keeping” wooden one! Even though the site had only just re-opened and was not completely finished, the week before Christmas, we were still charged peak period rates for our 3 night stay on a Premium Pitch Missed opportunity? The biggest gripe both wardens and campers had about the site was the poor, or non-existent TV reception, has this been resolved? No, not even the serviced pitches have a TV point. Fortunately, probably due to the lack of foliage, we were able to tune in the TV for the long cold nights Despite all, It’s still one of the best locations in the area and we will keep returning

Lovely site

Peaceful and attractive site - pitched in one of the wooded areas which was quiet and felt secluded. Rabbits everywhere - fun to watch especially when night time and lights on! Facilities great as you would expect. Short, delightful walk from site to canal and past the aqueduct. Overall a fantastic location and a peaceful first experience as a ‘motorhomer’! Will stay again.

One of our favourite sites

We stay at LMP quite often. It's a lovely site next to Chirk Castle and a short walk to the Llangollen Canal which takes you to the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct which is a world heritage site. The village of Chirk is 5 minutes walk and had a couple of pubs a Spar & a Coop. I'm not really saying much about the site facilities etc because they're all being refurbished & the site will be closed until September 2022. I hope the Club leave these reviews up so next season people can use them to gauge I'd the site & surrounding area is right for them.

Lady Margaret not at Home!

We are caravanners recently converted to panel van conversion and this was our first proper trip. Still getting used to the different way of operating and this site was ideal. So much to do direct from the site. Cycling on mostly traffic free trails (canal side) and walking. Whilst we didn’t use it on this trip, the rail station is very handy. Peaceful (some people complain about the factory noise but we only noticed that once away from the trees enclosing the site). Be interested to see what happens with the refurb but we’re very likely to be returning.
