A very friendly and quiet site

We enjoyed a short 3 night break here in Mid May 2022. Site was easy to find and access. Arrival process seamless and friendly. We were lucky to find the site very quiet (not at all full) and therefore had the pick of pitches. Overall there were great facilities. All clean and tidy. Particularly liked the kids play area (room) with table tennis and other games. The site was nicely secluded and quiet with easy access. Our daughter loved the playground and was absolutely delighted to find the little crochet gift of kindness that had been hidden on the site! Additionally the wardens gave us a little duck food to feed the very friendly ducks that frequented our pitch. All in all a great stay. Thank you

GREAT MID-WEEK BREAK

Our mid-week break at the end of April was marked by some exceptionally pleasant weather and a site that I would guess was only about 25% occupied. Therefore, we enjoyed plenty of space and near-deserted facilities. We followed the Club's directions to the site and had no trouble finding it but the final run-in is down a fairly narrow country lane which could prove challenging if you meet something reasonably sizeable coming the other way. Hence, we were very pleased to note that the 1:00pm arrival time was rigorously enforced, although you always get some numpty who wants to park at the barrier from 12:00. Facilities in general were of the high standard we all enjoy and have come to expect. The Information Room was exceptional with lots of suggestions of local walks and of places to visit (with 'rip-off' copies you could take with you), guidance on places to park motorhomes in towns, etc - thanks wardens, really excellent. At the other end of the scale, the Games Room was in poor shape, allegedly due to vandalism by site visitors. I hope this does not lead to loss of this facility as there are solutions (eg sizeable deposits for loan of equipment, etc) and there may be a need for some monitoring (there is CCTV) which works on other sites (Castletown, Hawes, etc) - don't let the vandals win.

Difficult to find

By the time we reached the site we were a little bit fed up. A rather stressful journey was ended by numerous barriers across lanes meaning we were unsure of how to get into the site. Since speaking to the staff apparently it is very easy as long as you come of at the right junction! The site itself is very large with decent sized pitches. The facilities are looking a bit tired but were really clean. The staff themselves were really friendly and worked very hard to keep the big site looking nice with only 4 staff.

Longleat

A great site for visiting Longleat just walk straight in.Lions roaring and sea lions honking a common sound and not one you would experience anywhere else. The children's room has ping pong and pool, but I would recommend taking a cue if possible and plenty of 50p to play also a ping pong ball and bats. A big site but nice pitches.

Great unique site

Great site up to usual C&MC standard with added bonus of lions roaring and load of other animal sounds. Great site position with loads to see in the local area from Longleat itself, Bath Bristol, Clark’s Village, Bradford on Avon even Bournemouth and Poole easy drive. Great for digital detoxing! ☺️😏 virtually no mobile signals on any network in the site, paid club WiFi very poor and poor tv signal and pitches around us the bollard tv boosters didn’t work so great if you want to read and/or talk with the wife/ husband 😂

Excellent customer service

We stayed for just two nights, to visit Longleat and see the Christmas lights there. We received a warm and helpful welcome on arrival and a cheery greeting throughout our visit. This is in marked contrast to our visit in Summer 2020 when perhaps circumstances were more strained. Well done! It felt so much more relaxing and the level of cleaning in the toilet block, as well as around the site, made us feel safe (and cared for) too. It is possible to pick up WiFI (for a catch up) on a short walk from the site. I wonder whether this is more to do with the valley location of the site. The site is, of course, ideal for visiting Longleat but as an open all year site, I expect we shall return to visit the local area some day.

longleat relaxing stay

Easy to find by following the post code ,then following the signposted road straight to the site, Excellent level pitches. No traffic noise, Mostly quiet except for the occasional animal roar or call from the neighbouring safari park. Sound is quite novel and exciting. Immaculate site that is well worth a repeat visit. Highly recommended

Perfect

What can I say, what a great site, perfect location for the safari park and house, Bath and Salisbury, Stayed for 4 nights and had a great time The staff were fantastic after my little “mishap” especially Clare who went above and beyond duty to help me out, thanks Clare 👏 We’re defo going back in the new year Only slight downfall (for me anyway) was the WiFi was appalling, but that’s CAMC fault not the campsite, Thanks again longleat,

Great Site and Holiday!

We stayed at the Longleat Site 21st - 26th Nov 2021. It was our first visit here. The team gave us a friendly warm welcome and were friendly throughout our stay. Although we didn't visit Longleat Safari Park we did visit Nunney Castle, Bristol Zoo, Frome and Salisbury. We really enjoyed our stay here and thought the facilities were very clean and excellent. Thank you Caravan Club! We look forward to our holidays with you next year! :)

Somerset/Wiltshire border...

Longleat is one of those rarer all year round sites so is very useful for the winter brigade! A very pleasant wooded environment with differing areas awaits, offering plenty of choice off season to pitch remotely or otherwise. You’re quite a way from civilisation with access down a single file country lane so try not to arrive when others are attempting to leave, or reversing may well be involved! Mobile phones don’t work on site, although a short drive will put that right if you just want to check your emails occasionally. Bring a co-ax cable to plug your TV into the bollard too, if you like to follow your favourite programming, although the extensions are on sale on arrival if you forget. The pandemic has meant that windows in the shower block(s) are permanently open, which is a tad chilly for all over washing, although the hot water is great! We’ve just spent over two weeks here, and generally recommend the site, as long as you are prepared to allow for the minor problems above. Worth 8 out of 10, but not more. We may well return one day, but it’s not top of the list, it must be said...
