Had a lovely two nights in Looe Campsite - Washroom facilities need a re-think!

We stayed at this site last autumn, and liked it then, so booked another couple of nights (this week starting Bank holiday Monday). Luckily quite a few of the units had left meaning the site wasn’t full, although i would say it was about three quarters full if not more. The staff at the reception for booking in were really friendly and efficient, we were free to find our own pitch and report back to reception with the number. Reading the reviews prior to arrival I was concerned regarding the Coronavirus mitigation in regards to the washroom facilities, as like most motor-homers we rely on site facilities for toilets and showers, and would not have stayed had these been closed (which they were not). Washrooms - They had a rubber wrist band system where three pink wrist bands were left soaking in a bleach water container at the entrance to the washroom facilities. You were requested to take a wrist band when using the facilities and on leaving the washroom drop your wrist band back in the bleach water for the next person. The washroom (men’s side - similar to women's side) consisted of about 7-8 toilets, 5 sinks (some in their own cubicles) and about 7 or 8 showers. It seemed that every middle cubicle (toilet/basin/shower) had been taken out of action for ‘social distancing’ reasons. This halved the available washroom capacity. Myself and other members who I spoke to could not understand the rationale for this procedure which led to people queuing outside to use the facilities, when in actual fact those inside had migrated from toilet to shower and then washroom, meaning a pointless wait. As a person who is used to writing risk assessments the system imposed at Looe is flawed, and actually increases the likelihood of catching Covid IF an infected person was to use the facilities. It reduces the available capacity from 8 units (toilet/shower or basin) to 4 of each thereby doubling the likelihood of being In a contaminated space. There was no control measures in limiting the number of pitches on site. The suggestion that people should use their own facilities (i.e. caravan or motorhome) Does not take into account how most of their clientele use campsites and their units. Showering or ‘using‘ a thetford cassette toilet in a motorhome or caravan is an unpleasant experience. In the end most people (including myself) ignored the wrist band procedure as people were clearly taking the wrist bands with them forgetting to drop them back in the container leading to unnecessary waits on a near empty washoom! Aside from that the Pizza tent which sets up Mondays was excellent! Truly fine pizzas using thin crust sour dough. The campsite and facilities were clean and tidy, and we had no complaints as to the staff who were very friendly and always smiling. Just need to address the washroom though - perhaps follow the Tintagel procedure (cup hook board where all members are given a wrist band and hang them up on an empty hook when using
