A week in the Sun in October!

What a stunning location and a wonderful site. Wardens very helpful and the site and facilities absolutely spotless and along with the weather being good we had a wonderful time. Well done to all the Wardens!

Superb site

Great site, warm friendly welcome from the warden. Very helpful indeed and as others have said the facilities are spotless. You can tell there is a good team working here. Lots of places nearby to visit and the walk along the coast in Grange over Sands is easy and interesting. Can't wait to return !

Fantastic Site

WHat a fantastic site. We used a stop-over for 1 night, but wished it could have been more. Very warm welcome, great facilities all very modern and spotlessly clean. Wonderful site in terms of the range of pitch types available. If you wanted your own little leafy spot tucked away in a corner you could have it, but if you wanted something a bit more open these were also available. Great having the hotel/pub next door also. Would be a great base for exploring the lake district. Will be back for sure at some point in the future.

Good as ever

Have stayed in this site on the way to and from Scotland, the first time we booked for one night, and stayed for three, this time we booked for three nights and stayed for four. Enjoy the area, not just the Lakes but the little towns and villages, like Grange and Cartmel just up the road. Staff always welcoming and friendly and facilities as we have come to expect from CC sites. The walk into Grange will take a lot longer than the 20 minutes as advertised on the club info, but this is site we will return to.

We will be back

Visited recently for 9 nights. Wardens lovely, great location, 30 mins into the heart of the lake district. We usually abandon car once on site but weather was so good we felt obliged to drive north and climb some peaks, Fairfield horseshoe, Scafell Pike, the langdales, Coniston horseshoe, clear as a bell every day. On our off days we rode our tandem to Arnside and Silverdale 42 miles, and up to Wray Castle 43 miles round trips. On our lazy day we walked to Grange but by the time we had explored and collected a few geocaches we had still walked 10 miles by the time we got back to the van. Facilities at the site were superlative and neither of us had to wait to use then throughout our stay. Lots of exploring to do locally but given the superb weather  which forced us north we will have to return to make the most of it, shame. Heartily recommended

great site

This site is a little out of the way but ideal for a quiet break. Facilities spotlessly clean and wardens always doing something around the place. They were building an insect hotel when we stayed. Next door is a small hotel which seves good food and well worth a try. For walkers its 1 hour into Grange over Sands, which is easy. Grange is well worth a visit and has a lovely peer. Would recommend this site. Definitely visit again

You wont be disappointed

Wonderful site. Peaceful and quiet with individual little groups of pitches rather than one big open site. Very friendly and welcoming wardens. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Office has a small shop with essentials and there is a delivery most days of fresh bread and milk. You can even order fresh croissants, pork pies and sausage rolls for the next day. Nearby Grange is worth a visit to stroll around the artisan shops.

Paul & Sue

We had a very enjoyable stay on this site and would recommend it to any others who fancy a nice quite time with like minded people. Nice and well maintained facilities the staff are very happy to help with any problems that may arise. The pub is 5 minutes walk away Grange is a 20 Minute walk where there are a number of shops and a lovely walk along the front.

Short break

Just spent 3 nights here, lovely site, very dog friendly and relaxing. Quite a steep driveway in, but looks worse than it is. The warden we met was super, a lovely friendly face after a long journey. Thanks also to the two new wardens who helped us find a good spot for us and our friends who were joining us on their way home later. Altogether an enjoyable stay, will definitely return.
