5 mph

as usual enjoyed our stay at Melrose relief wardens very good. only downer was cars with caravans and cars and motor homes ignoring 5mph sign ( I could only see one 5mph warning sign on site) this is not only a problem at Melrose. throughout our stays this year we have noticed this in all the sites we have stayed.

Excellent site

A first class site. Excellent facilities, friendly helpful wardens, and within minutes of the town of Melrose, which is lovely with it's independent shops and beautiful Abbey. Very impressed - we will be back. Highly recommended.

Beautiful site fantastic

We visited this site 22nd August for 6 nights and we had a fantastic time.  The site is very easy to find in a convienent location, in easy reach of Edinburugh and with easy access from the M6 and A7. The site is a short 2 minute walk away from the picturesque town of Melrose but it is still a peaceful location to park up and stay.  The site is spotlessly clean and the wardens are very helpful, we could not fault any amenities. Cleaning times are between 11am -12pm, so there is no pressure of long queues in a morning.   Melrose is a handy little town with everything you could need, including small supermarkets, shops and fantastic restaurants and cafes.   We will definitely return next year!

Fantastic Wardens!

I returned to this site last week, having been many times before. It is a perfect location, being able to walk into the lovely town of Melrose. The surrounding area is fantastic for walking and cycling, and for visiting all of the interesting scottish border towns. On this occasion, I'd like to make a special mention to the brilliant wardens Linda and John. Not only have they been friendly and welcoming every time I have visited, but on this occasion went the extra mile by helping to ressurect my awning when the high winds took hold at the weekend and rang me to let me know as I was out for the day. I have no hesitation in fully recommending this site. You will not be disappointed!!

perfect position, lovely site and wonderful wardens

After first visit can't wait to be able to return. The site is perfectly positioned in Melrose. It is a short stroll to the centre of this delightful town. The site itself is lovely and the wardens do an amazing job as well as providing a very friendly and efficient welcome. I don't know how they do it all as a one couple site. The Southern Upland Way and the Borders Abbeys Way pass right through Melrose, so perfect for walking (or in my case running) routes. I also found perfect quiet cycling routes on decent road surfaces, although once off the main roads there can be some quite challenging gradients. Melrose - oddly - doesn't have a road bridge over the River Tweed. To cross in a vehicle one has either to drive east for a couple of miles to the A68, or drive west for a couple of miles towards Galashiels. In some ways this adds to the charm. There is a wonderful suspension footbridge across the river in Melrose, which is worth a stroll even without any desire to get to the north of the Tweed. (Yes the toilet block isn't new and could be improved by refurbishment. But everything worked, the water was hot, the wardens kept it spotless, and in a small site it was never busy even when the site was full. It was zero detriment to our stay there.)

Melrose Caravan Park

This was our first visit to Melrose  We were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the site, the warm welcome and the great location on the edge of the town. We went on to a fully serviced pitch these were well maintained. There are many walks and possibilities for cycling and the town has an interesting array of pubs and places to eat out. we stayed for 4 nights and it was excellent. This a  Highly recommended site!

Excellence at Melrose

We have been staying on this site for the last 10 years as it is a great location for visiting the "Border Country".  The standard is very high.  This year the wardens should be congratulated for maintaining a great standard & also for a very attractive display of summer flowers in all manner of baskets & tubs.  The site location is very close to the town centre & near a butchers shop selling the most wonderful Scottish pies!  Well done wardens.

Motorhome facility

Nice site we'll run and maintained in a lovely location. One issue was the m/home waste disposal point in that the drain was on the left and not suitable in a one way system for most vans.Suggest a drain which stretches across the width of a m/h ie 2.3 m.
