Lovely small site right in a lovely town

Lovely smallest site so far right in town but with views of hills all around. Great pitches and facilities. Right in the town, but peaceful. Melrose is a nice town, with good shopping at Co-op and local indie shops right near site, plus good pubs and cafés. King's Arms was very nice for a meal. Tweed pretty close for lovely walks, banks covered in Few Flowered Garlic, used in local pesto which we had.

Disappointing asphalt pitches

Very friendly welcome and the site is ideally located, a short walk into Melrose and a Coop next door. The facilities were fine. Unfortunately we were pitched on what felt like a pub car park....4 hard asphalt pitches in the corner, which seemed like an afterthought or overflow area. I do not think it's right to charge the same price for these pitches as for the normal.ones. We have stayed on lots of Club sites and have never seen an area like this before. Not at all a pleasant environment for sitting outside.

First Rate Site.

This is, a first rate, friendly site. Well kept, with extremely clean facilities. It's situation, over the road from Melrose rugby ground and within 50 mtrs. of the town, make it an ideal stop. We initially ,booked for three nights and stayed for five. Although situated next to the town and with houses and recreation fields adjacent, it was quiet and peaceful. Staff were, friendly and very approachable, Melrose, is a walker friendly town and dogs, are welcome in all pubs and bars. We have booked again for later this year. Great place

First visit to this site and will definitely recommend

This was our first visit to this site , and we loved it . Couldn’t believe how close to the town we were and so close to a Co op - which was so handy. The wardens were absolutely amazing, we had a leak on our motorhome, the warden was around straight away and assisted us , gave great advice and expertise to which we were extremely grateful for . Very welcoming site , toilets very clean and site in general well kept by the wardens . Good dog walking area on site . I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a lovely break and a nice walk into the town . Melrose Ruby ground is across the road and a nearby school. We will most definitely recommend and be returning. Thanks for making our break so enjoyable xx

Lovely site

Recently stayed there for a second time and have booked again for later in the year. Wardens very welcoming and work hard to maintain the site. Toilets showers etc were very clean. Being right in the centre of Melrose its great for getting supplies and there are lots of lovely places to eat and drink. Lots of walking and cycle paths close by.

Borders Adventure.

Had a great time at this site. Really handy for Melrose shops and restaurants. Good bus service to surrounding towns.Great site clean and well maintained. Site wardens we’re very welcoming and helpful. Ended up staying for 9 nights to take in the Melrose Rugby 7’s on our final weekend. Don’t miss the Scottish Borders it really is a very nice area to visit.

Noisey

I will not be returning, booked a pitch without awning, which we ended up stuck right in the corner. Stayed for 4 nights, noisy neighbours every night, dogs not kept on leads at all times, witnessed small dog roaming site unsupervised during day, and then found evidence of dog faeces by the side of our caravan. Even though site well kept and spotlessly clean it has been the worst site for being so noisy we have stayed on in all the years we have been members of the caravan club.

Bet this site's popular for the rugby!

Nice well looked after site a few minutes walk from town centre and across the road from the rugby club. Lots to do - we should realy have planned to stay much longer and it would have certainly have made an excellent base for the Borders. Melrose Abbey and Harmony Gardens are within a short walking distance and the other Border Abbeys can be easily achieved by road. You can cycle the 3 Abbeys trail from the site, Scott's house at Abbotsford is a few miles away but there are walking routes which take you there. Unless you're really into Walter Scott entry to the house is rather expensive but the grounds are worth exploring (they are free). Your'e not far from Tweedbank and the Borders Rail Link to Edinburgh. Some great walks along the river and into Eidon hills. Lots of places to eat in town - its a long time since I've been anywhere with as many prosperous looking hotels. Site facilities clean and well looked after though shower cubicles would benefit from having a seat in them. But thats a minor point. We had a lovely pitch and felt quite secluded

4 Abbeys

We have stayed here a few times great for cycling in the area can recommend the 4 Abbeys route that’s Melrose, Dryburn,Kelso and Jedburgh abbey. Also Floors Castle is worth a visit. Great ice cream / chocolate shop. The tempest brewery tap house in Tweedbank is also worth and walks along the river

Our first visit to Melrose

This was our first visit to this site, and we were not disappointed. We had a warm friendly welcome from wardens. Pitches are spacious and well spaced out, shower and toilet block was spotless wardens work hard to keep the site clean and tidy. Site is well located so only a short walk to the centre of a very pretty little town with a variety of small shops, and dog friendly pubs, also a co-op at the entrance of site very handy. Lots of walks direct from site, lovely walk along the river. We will be booking again to visit this site.
