A lovely site in a beautiful area

This is a well laid out and immaculately kept site with the usual standard of facilities that we expect from the Club.  It was almost full when we stayed in the September sunshine but never felt crowded.  The area is absolutely beautiful.  The coastal path is a few minutes from the site with spectacular views; a bus ride to St Mawes gives you access to the number of ferries which ply the coast to Truro, Falmouth and elsewhere.  Altogether the best of places to stay!

Great stay

We visited this site recently, we really enjoyed the walking for us & our two little dogs directly from the site. We were able to walk the costal paths & the local beaches where the dogs had a great time in the water. Facilities clean & tidy, but the site was very busy with no hard standings left which we would have preferred with our motorhome. However the grass pitches were firm enough to not cause us any problems. We would have liked to stay longer but they were fully booked. Will definitely return in the future.

Enjoyable stay

We came to stay at Merrose on 7/6/15 to 9/6/15.We had a lovely stay, the dogs really enjoyed themselves, as did we. The site was immaculate, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We would have stayed longer and were very disappointed to find that it was fully booked, but we will return! There was plenty of good places to visit and the weather was kind to us, so thank you for a fantastic stay.

Campervan Adria M

We stayed at Merrose for 3/4 nights 3 -7th Sept and would have stayed longer but the cat was at home missing us. The whole experience was great. The site was quite easy to locate and, as someone else has said, having the traffic lights a relief after squeezing past traffic on our way down some of Cornwall's idyllic but somewhat stressful lanes! We were met with a very friendly receptionist and soon settled in. Facilities were up to the usual standard of Caravan Club sites. We met some like minded people either on site or on our walks around the area. The area is stunning too. Breathtaking in fact. On a personal note, we had booked 4 nights but did not return on the second as we had been down so many narrow lanes to get to the Pandora Inn and did not fancy going back in the dark and so the landlord let us stay in the pub yard overnight. We could no get a signal to let the Merrose know and when we returned the following day we found that the lady in the campervan in front of us had showed some concern and had the staff phoning us to find out if we were ok. We won't be able to forget that one!!!But, we are sorry about that and are touched that you were worried about us.Thankyou. We will be back for sure. The Hunts

Tour of Devon and Cornwall in a Swift Kontiki

We stayed here for 3 nights during our South West tour and the site was only half full just prior to the August bank holiday. Upon arrival we found the male warden was quite abrupt and did not receive the usual friendly welcome we have come to expect from the Caravan Club. It was obvious it was not a one off  as indeed on a couple of more encounters with him his sharp manner had not changed. The site is in a quiet area of Cornwall but a day trip on the ferry to Falmouth was most enjoyable, even though it had been cancelled due to bad weather the previous day. The traffic lights on the narrow approach are a good idea and should be considered for other sites with narrow approaches.

We have found a gem....

We stayed here recently for 10 days. We had a lovely relaxing time and met some very nice caravaners. The site is really beautiful and in an area with lovely walks to the coast. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Their shop was well stocked with many yummy items and the usual necessities. The site was very very quiet for a bank holiday. Which surprised us, might have been down to the dodgy weather we had in August. We made the most of the peace and quiet anyway. The traffic lights into the site are a welcome sight after some of the narrow lanes of Cornwall.  There are two shower blocks. One newer that the other. Both cleaned to a high standard. Thank you. We had great wifi on-site though our phone signal wasn't great and no 3g until we went to other areas.  To summerise, we will be using this site again. Had a great time and there is really "something" about this area of Cornwall. it gets to you and you just appreciate the gorgeous views and the wonderful food from the local cafe's and restaurants.

Cornish Yarg - or even Fish & Chips!

Helpful and friendly wardens - even when I didn't pull up at designated Arrivals area! Small but well stocked shop - visiting Fish & chip van a definite bonus! - after a day sightseeing and lunchtime concert at Truro's cathedral we needed something quick and easy! Coastal path walks well documented (though an indication of Porthbean's beach coming before Porthscatho's could have helped). Immaculate site - obviously well tended and delightful people running it. Can't ask for more

A fabulous holiday on a lovely site!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days holiday this summer on this site. The staff were most welcoming and helpful and the facilities second to none. The site is well-maintained and kept clean and tidy. It is well-placed for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall and we enjoyed visiting some old haunts as well as exploring new places. We would definitely return in the future!

A cracking quiet site.

Just got back from a 10 day stay and it was most enjoyable. Very friendly and helpful staff. The facilities were spotless and warm. The perfect site for exploring south Cornwall. We are already looking forward to going back next year.

1st venture into Cornwall

This was our first venture into Cornwall and also the first time we had stayed on a club site. ALL the staff (and there were many ??) were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The site was kept immaculate, all of which took place not too early or too late if you like your sleep ??. The kids play area, and football field was fab, and the dog exercise area was lovely and secure, with plenty of poo bins. The location was ideal for exploring the more southerly points of Cornwall, and the cliff top walks were amazing, especially the one leading down to Towan Beach - our favourite while we were there. We stayed 10 nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time. The shop was handy and had a good selection of essentials ( and luxuries), and a fish and chip van cam around three times a week, and all in all we had a fantastic time.
