Never fails to please!

This is the 4th year running we have been to this site and it still lives up to everything you could wish for!   The club staff were brilliant, helpful, friendly and efficient.  The site is very well maintained and in a lovely secluded spot on the Roseland Peninsula.  The childrens' play area is better than we've seen anywhere. We will definitely return next year.  A big thank you to the site managers and their team.

SUMMER IN THE SCHOOL HOLS

Nice pleasant site rather busy, would be better out of school holidays.  Kids on bikes not adhering to one way system and exceeding the speed limit!  Could do with more showers and toilets in busy season.

What 12..00 rule?

Loverly site, super wardens, but 12.00 arrival rule completely ignored. If you are stupid enough to wait until 12.00 as instructed then all the hard standing pitches will have gone. This happened on the day we arrived and nearly every day whilst we stayed. Either have or rule or do not, but if you have such a rule then apply it! Super Stay but just the one gripe. Thank You

Awesome and can't wait to go back

Hi We stayed at Merrose in September last year for a week and it just wasn't long enough so we're going back this year for two weeks! We really fell in love with this site and the area. I love the enclosed dog area so you can let your dogs off, and the bins provided so you don't have to carry the full poo bags back with you. You can tell the staff really do work hard and take pride in making the site so beautiful and clean and tidy. The showers are very clean, but I agree with an earlier review about the shower heads, they could do with changing and updating these and a little more water pressure would be great, but I still love it here. I currently don't have children but I think the play area is brilliant and I can't wait until we have children to be able to take them here. The beach is a wonderful size and very clean, the National Trust actually to a monthly clean up on the first Monday of the month, if you go down and give them a hand in the morning there is a free coffee up for grabs from the Hidden Hut, which leads me to the Hidden Hut, which is a little gem, looking forward to booking a meal in the evening here which is also wonderful. The michelin star restaurant Driftwood is also a beautiful place to eat with very reasonable prices for a michelin star restaurant and again can't wait to go back, have already booked our table. So overall, I think Merrose is a must go Caravan site, and I am counting down the days to our next visit, 4 weeks to go tomorrow!

Our Stay at Merrose Farm

This site is delightful. The spaces between the hard standing pitches are vast so there's no feeling of being on top of one another. Not so sure about the grass ones, although on the top field which is grass, there's loads of room between pitches. There are the usual Caravan Club standards in terms of loos, showers and washing up areas. I loved that they pipe in Pirate FM into the toilet blocks. Distracts you from certain other less welcome noises!! The Reception cum Shop is excellent. They stock a wide range of food and non food including fresh bread and eggs. The staff here and around the site are wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. They work very hard to ensure everyone has a great time. Many spent a lot of time on hands and knees weeding individual pitches as they had apparently had an infestation from new gravel that has been laid on hardstandings. They work tirelessly to maintain standards.  On a personal note I ran out of gas on my last night at the site, and I only found out at 18.20. I went to the shop which was closed and they put themselves out to help me and provide a fresh cylinder. I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the site. Locally there are excellent coastal path walks, superb beaches, and the jewel that is Portscatho with a great pub and a lovely restaurant. Nearby St Mawes is beautiful and we walked around it twice. Been round the castle before but if you haven't, then do. Just be careful if you want to visit Veryan and Portloe. They are lovely but the road in and out are dreadful...single tracks with high hedge walls. All in all a massive thumbs up for Merrose Farm.

Merrose Farm

We visited this site in early July, it is very well maintained and very clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly. We used the Toddler bathroom which is very roomy compared to some sites. There is plenty to do and visit and site is in a very good location and nothing was to far away. We have young twins and there was plenty for them to do, the playground on site is brilliant and quite big with lots to play with. There is also a fish and chip van that comes to site 3 times a week which was very tasty. We will definitely be returning to Merrose and would highly recommend it.

Merrose Farm

A well maintained site with excellent facilities for all the family. When touring the peninsula, be sure to visit as many "out of the way" places as you can, but beware - some of the lanes are very narrow in places!

Cornish gold

Just returned from a 3 night break had a great time exploring the local coastline,  staff and facilities are very good. Beach's are brilliant and hidden away but not too much of a walk to get to them. Food at the hidden hut is enjoyable and a must visit.

My Review

Used the site in late June early July and rate it as excellent for my purposes. One proviso, there seem to be dogs everywhere, true, normally on leads, but if you, like me, have no love for these animals, then beware. As an afterthought, why does The Club not make a charge for dogs; I presume there must be a cost for maintenance of bins, disposal of their mess etc.
