Lovely location and helpful staff

The location of the site is perfect just off the main road to St Mawes and walking distance to the coast path and beaches. Traffic light system works for traffic but a little perilous for pedestrians and electric wheelchairs! Farm shop sold fresh fish, nice veg and bread. St Mawes easy distance and St Anthony’s head well worth a visit. Take the ferry over to Falmouth which is a lovely town. Great dog walking field - brilliant for socialising dogs and puppies. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We needed help with a logistical problem and the staff bent over backwards to help us. We were very grateful and would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

June 20

We have stayed at merrose site several times over the years, the site is well run and always clean and tidy, it’s in a good position to visit this unique part of Cornwall. I did find however this time that with 170 pitches the facilities are inadequate and it’s time more toilets & shower need to be provided. The method of trying to control the numbers in the facilities with rubber bands didn’t work once the site was quite full people ignored the rules and in the end was a free for all. On the field campers let their children run wild riding bikes around the site, hardly anyone used the playing field it was more fun to play ball games in between the pitches. Some time ago the site was campaigning to try to get the local authorities to provide a foot path and crossing place across the main road towards Portscatho, was anything agreed ? Also the lane to the site is very overgrown and not trimmed back to give walkers and drivers enough room to pass.

Lovely site, great location, spotless facilities

This was our first visit to Merrose Farm but we will definitely be back. Lovely helpful site wardens, very clear on the current Covid restrictions and use of the facilities. Well maintained and very clean and tidy - the facilities are spotless. There is a very well stocked shop with cream teas and other sweet treats available. Fish and chip van twice a week and a fantastic wood fired pizza van once a week. Dog walk and enclosed exercise field on site. Highly recommended. Thank you!!

merrose farm, May 2021 (hardstanding pitch)

A pleasant site, we enjoyed our stay. We liked: + Landscaping and size + Clean and well maintained + Location - easy walk to Portscatho and Coastal Path + Wardens, friendly and helpful + large-scale OS map of local area available from Reception (£3) + hardstanding pitches are level and well spaced out + Fish & Chip van (visits Mon & Fri), Pizza van, Wed. (book early!) We disliked: - Wi-Fi - only one device can be used at a time, and we had problems releasing the Wi-Fi from the first device (support call to AirAngel was a waste of time) - toilets are clean, but the toilet block is small for a site of this size - "Family" toilet areas not well defined for Covid-19 use and caused confusion/queue jumping - Covid-19 procedures not well followed by other visitors; confusion over use of coloured bands at toilet block - some kids on bikes riding around the site at the weekend and playing football (not in the play area)

Great wardens, nice site

Stayed here in May, left just as it stopped raining!! Site is well maintained and well arranged, though not sure I would like to have been in the big field. Chip van was OK, did not have the pizza but they smelled lovely. WiFi very indifferent. Other reviewers have mentioned the farm shop, we found this a real let down way over priced and not much stock. However, site staff are brilliant, always cheerful and helpful. The traffic light system for entry/exit is good.

Fabulous Club Site

Really enjoyed our visit to Merrose Farm - It’s an immaculately maintained and run site in a beautiful location - the wardens are all welcoming and friendly, there’s a useful shop in reception and a great farm shop a short walk away. We are really looking forward to coming again

First trip of 2021

Very simple review. Great site with large open well spaced pitches, immaculately kept by friendly, helpful wardens. Beautiful location, 10 minute walk from SW Coastal footpath giving access to numerous small beaches. We will be back.

Great First time at Merrose Farm Caravan Club.April 2021.

Having not been away because of lockdown we took the opportunity to try somewhere which was different. Cornwall had been on our agenda for some time. Picked Merrose on the reviews left by other members and was extremely pleased with the out come. Long drive down from Buckinghamshire but well worth it. As you approach the site there is a set of Traffic Lights which means you don’t meet any other vehicles on the way in. The Site is large but the way it is set up you don’t feel overwhelmed. Clean and Tidy and Wardens really helpful. No information in the Information Hut due to COVID so get your local maps from the Tourist Information in St Mawes. Office is closed but maps in clear containers outside front door. We stayed for a week and visited quite a few places which were really easy to get to. Didn’t get to see all of this area so will have to go back again. Stayed on pitch 7 was not able to get Tv but other pitches would be great. Have internet from Club Site and found it very helpful. Bus Stop at top of road which is hail and ride but as we tow a car was not required. Site 10 Wardens 10 Weather 10 except for high winds. Location 10. FYI came back to Buckingham via Truro on the A390, A39 ,A30, M4 much better roads. 😉 Enjoy

What a lovely site with acres of space

We stayed at Merrose Farm for 6 night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay ,site spotlessly clean, wardens really friendly and helped us stay healthy and virus free with the precautions the club had put in place during these torrid times. Lovely walks on the side roads took us into Porthscatho of three days stopping off at the Hidden Hut for refreshments, I can recommend their pasties. We took the bus on two days to travel into Truro and St Mawes, the bus stop is right outside the top of the driveway which gives you access into the site. We could not fault the site Fish & Chips available on Friday Pizzas Wednesday. We will be back later this year if they have space
