A delightful space

This site is in the middle of nowhere. You have to cross a cattle grid and there are sheep wondering on the surrounding moors. There is a beautiful waterfall, Falling Foss, in close walking distance to the site. It is a great base for exploring the moors or the coast. Will hopefully return in the future when we can stay for longer. Would have loved time to make use of the crazy golf and boules. The site is beautifully maintained. It is an oasis of calm. A lovely place to escape to.

Lovely, quiet and clean

Having cut our holiday elsewhere short due to the noise, smell and cleanliness, we were fortunate to get a few nights here en route home. It was a welcome change for us as it was so peaceful, picturesque and clean! Highly recommended.

Lovely site, we will return

This site is well situated for surrounding areas and locations of interest and is situated away from the main roads surrounded by a lovely wooded area. This is a lovely well maintained site which is quiet and peaceful even though most pitches were in use during our stay and other families staying as well. The wardens are a credit to the site very friendly, take pride in the site and keep it well maintained. They always had a smile on their faces and would always say hello to everyone including the children. We booked the site due to the reviews and location and we were not disappointed, we also booked the site knowing it had no facilities but had no problem despite being a family of 5, our children loved it especially the crazy golf. We will be returning next year.

Perfect site

With families requiring wi fi phone signal and full facility site this site is not good for families with children. But if you enjoy the piece and quite, love walking country and wild life this site is a gem. It’s immaculately kept, with great Wardens. Will be returning ASAP.

We Will Return

well situated for an easy drive to the beaches and on to Whitby. with a fantastic view of the Abby as you drive in to Town. The site is well kept and one of the quietest we have stayed at. we had some bad weather while on our visit but this actually added to the views around us as well as the low cloud giving the place a earie and supernatural feel, I loved it. fantastic base for walkers and cyclists alike. the only issue I could see with larger families is the lack of facilities could make that barrel filling and cassette emptying a continues job. but with so much to do away from the site it may not be that much of an issue. We will be returning

First Visit

Arriving at the site after a pleasant drive over the North Yorkshire Moors I was given a warm welcome by Karen who was the warden in reception. The site is well away from main roads in a wooded area with a lovely quite ambience. There are some gaps amongst the trees at the back of the site giving magnificent views out across the moors from the pitches there. We had originally booked seven nights but as availability changed we extended twice and stayed the max twenty one nights. A big thank you to Karen for amending our booking and changing another commitment to allow this. I was not able to do it myself as it was not accessible online. The site is in a great location for Whitby, Scarborough and many other popular coastal places. There are also plenty of other attractive places away from the coast such as Helmsley and Thornton le Dale. We enjoyed walking parts of the Cleveland Way and on a rather blustery day had a more sheltered walk exploring Mulgrave Woods. This was our first ever visit to a site with no toilet/shower facilities however, since covid restrictions we have become totally caravan reliant so no problems. We caravan a lot so this opens up many new club sites to visit. We shall definitely visit this site again and I recommend it to anyone looking for tranquillity, with barely a spare pitch it was still peaceful. Thanks to Kevin and Karen for maintaining this lovely site and helping out with our booking changes.

Exceptional Site

We’ve just returned home after a 2 week stay on this well located, peaceful and beautifully maintained site. From the very first day we were made to feel welcome by the wardens Kevin and Karen who were a cheerful presence and incredibly helpful. The shop on site is well stocked with essentials and the maps are particularly useful for exploring the surrounding area. There are lots of well signed walks from site to waterfalls and nature reserves. We were very lucky with the weather and spent quite a few lazy days around the van. Whitby is worth a few days - the Abbey is spectacular and in town Captain Cook museum provided an intriguing insight into his life and times. It was just lovely to be away and there is so much to do in this area that we will definitely be visiting again.

One of our favourites....very peaceful.

We have just had a 3 night stay here, as part of an 11 night tour around Yorkshire in our motorhome. It is the second time we have been here, and it will not be the last. The welcome from the friendly wardens is second to none, and the general ambience from the minute you drive onto the site is brilliant. If the office is closed when you arrive, they leave information on the door informing you what to do. There are no facilities here, but certainly for us that is not an issue, it just makes for a very reasonably priced stay. There are grass & hardstanding pitches to choose from, and all in nicely laid out settings. The motorhome service point is very well situated, and very easy to access. The two dog walks on site are fantastic, and can be accessed from a couple of different places around the site. The general walks from site are also brilliant, and the information hut has a notice showing walk suggestions. We didn't take the motorhome off site, but again, there is a very helpful notice on the information hut which suggests places to park a motorhome if you do go out. All in all, a credit to the wardens who maintain the site beautifully, and we will visit again soon.

Our First Stopover as new Motorhome Owners

Although this site is only 20 mins away from home it was like entering a different world inside the site. The pitches were great and we chose one looking out over Maybeck and sheltered by trees. Had and amazing stay and will definitely go back for more short breaks.

An enjoyable stay .

We stayed here during late May early June . We found ourselves in a predicament we were booked onto a Cl , however the Cl was very wet and unsuitable for our Motorhome. We spoke to the wardens at the NYM site and they managed to book us in over the spring bank holiday . We stayed a week and really enjoyed it . So thank you for a great service .
