The arrival process was poor, it is possible to check in via mobile, but there is no or limited phone reception on 2 different networks, I found the warden rude and wouldn't want to deal with him again, the book describes views of the moors from western pitches, but all views are obscured by trees, which is a shame.
HOWEVER
The site is well maintained, the lady warden appeared more friendly and the surrounding area is stunning. Whitby, the coastal villages - Sandsend, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and the inland areas Goathland, Lealholm, Rosedale, Hutton-le-Hole, to name a few should be on everyone's 'must visit' list. From the site there are many good walks, including down to the seasonal cafe at Falling Foss, which is worth a visit for a scone with jam and cream, and everything eco friendly (no plastics, everything recyclable).
We even say a Kingfisher on a walk during our stay
I would be reluctant to stay on the site again, but will definitely visit the area again.
Lovely spacious site
A lovely welcome by the lady site attendant, and great spacious pitches, some on grass and some hardstanding (your choice). There are plenty of trees which shield you from the worst of the wind! However, we had some beautiful weather there too. No loo block, but if you have your own facilities that's not an issue. It's a few miles from Whitby, which was incredibly busy, so go early in the morning to get a parking spot there. I would definitely stay on this site again if I was in the area.

Our August visit
Lovely quiet site with a mixture of hard standing a grass pitches. Really enjoy our stay. The only problem was checking in if you are first in the queue there is a sign which display instructions for booking in by telephone but if you are behind another vehicle you do not see the sign. Anyway, the person in front of us went into the office to book, so we presumed that we had to do the same. On entering the office we were told to go back to our caravan and check in by phone . We experienced problems with phone signals so had to go back into the office to book. Warden then booked us in. Either all the caravan clubs should have the same system of booking in or display how to book in on the individual caravan club site page.
A Good Choice
Our first visit here simply because we had never previously considered sites without shower blocks and things. But this new world we are living in has necessitated a re-think, so a site close to Whitby, one of our favourite areas, had to be great, And so it was, The location, pitches, dog walks and everything were excellent This includes the new style motorhome waste water disposal point, and, of course, the wardens, who were extremely friendly and approachable and doing a fine job. They should be commended for maintaining such a wonderful site under covid 19 conditions,
We shall definitely return
Great Site
Lovely tranquil site, within easy reach of the sea and moors. Plenty of walks nearby though it's not always easy to follow some of the public footpath routes and this past week a lot were quite overgrown making passage a tad difficult plus we experienced lots of nettles. But no pain, no gain as they say.
Friendly and Welcoming
The welcome at check-in was very friendly and Karen and Kevin made us feel part of the family. We enjoyed playing boules (in the rain)! Our motorhome is too large to take out on day trips so we took advantage of the discounted car hire with Enterprise. They delivered and collected the vehicle from site at a reasonable additional charge. Throughout the booking process and queries we had, the two people we dealt with, Alfie and Bob were very customer-focussed and professional. My husband enjoyed navigating the narrow, hilly roads in our SUV! Visited the coastal towns though very busy. Enjoyed ice cream at Beacon Farm and cream tea at Goathland. Good walking from site. Beware of ticks in long grass
Relaxing base to enjoy the moors and Yorkshire coastline
We have just returned from a week at this site and feel refreshed. We had not been to this part of Yorkshire before and loved exploring the local area. There are loads of dog walks off the site or you can go off site to explore the beautiful coastline. Whitby, Falling Foss waterfall and Robin Hood bay are great places to visit. Along with Runswick Bay. Great for family and dog friendly beaches. The wardens were warm, friendly and very helpful. They made everyone feel very welcome. Thank you for making this a peaceful base for our family to relax.

Another Excellent Visit
We have stayed on this site 14 times and recently introduced friends with a new motor home to it. Again peaceful, quiet and exceptionally well maintained by the wardens and i would say it looked the best the site has ever been. Nice walk to Falling Foss and great time in Whitby. Sunday lunch at The Postgate Inn in Egton Bridge was excellent. COVID19 was followed fully around the site and at no time did we feel concerned. Fully recommend this site to anyone, the surrounding area is great and lots to do. Do not be put off because there is no toilet block.
Great stay
Just returned from this site after a 5night stay.
Immaculate site, friendly and efficient wardens who deal with Covid rules well
Loads to do in the area, try the Wilson Arms In Sneaton for good value meals
Been here multiple times with our Airedale Terrior who loves the beaches an other walks in the area
Will be back soon
