We don't often stay at club sites, preferring CL's but returning from a 3 week trip to Cornwall to our home in East Suffolk this made a good 2 night stop-over as we were needing laundry facilities etc.. The site facilities are possibly the cleanest and best we have ever seen, our motorhome is not the smallest at 7.2mtrs and access etc. was very easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the site is well laid out albeit that the pitches are, in our opinion, somewhat cheek by jowl offering little seclusion or privacy. For exercise we walked up to the local pub for lunch the next day which frankly I wouldn't do again, the food not being that brilliant although it was very busy with others clearly enjoying their food. I agree that yes it is next to a road and there is a little road noise and yes it is under the flight path into Exeter Airport (only occasional flights but really nothing too intrusive) but I wouldn't let that put me off the site. It is well located for places like Sidmouth etc. and if your preference is for popular well located sites then this may well be for you as it would be again, in similar circumstances, for us. I had no problem with mobile phone or TV reception but the wifi was painfully slow and frankly if I had realised just how bad it was I would not have bothered paying for access....pathetic is a word that springs to mind when I think about the wifi.
General Noise
Don't get me wrong this is a lovely site with great wardens. There is however a lot of road noise. What looks like a quiet country lane next to the site is in fact a local rat run, busy day and night. The site is also on the flight path for Exeter airport which is not a problem during the day but they seem to be allowed night flights which is very disturbing

Another great stay
Just spent 8 nights here on a serviced pitch. Wardens as usual very welcoming. Had the fish and chips booked at reception, good quality and reasonably priced. There is some road noise and aircraft noise too. We had the misfortune over the Friday and Saturday to be overlooked by a very noisy family in a caravan on a pitch behind the service pitches. Noise (apart from the short relief when they went out) was totally uneccessary and at a level way beyond children playing. I am not against children playing but am against adults shouting at their children and the children screaming back. Rant over. The site Is ideally sited for visiting the coastal towns, we visited sidmouth, Lyme Regis and beer, excellent time was had. The dog walking from the site is good. The donkey sanctuary was also excellent and the dog had a wonderful time meeting them all. Going back her in October so 3 visits in 4 months says it all.

A Quiet Break
We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. The location was great for nearby Honiton and Ottery St Mary and the added bonus was being able to walk to the pub and back which was only a 5 minute walk away along a path which kept us off the road. Sadly the weather was not great for our break. The site is lovely and quiet and the facilities were spotless. We will definitely be back.

Great Time
Lovely well laid out site, plenty of hard standings, near to all the east Devon resorts, a short drive from Exeter. Plenty of places to eat.
Only down side site could do with more water/waste points.
5 nights in September
We stayed here for 5 nights. We know the area around Branscombe which is very nice. Very nice site. The trees around the site means if you want the sun be careful where you pitch. We did not have a lot of choice because the site was busy. Great pub that really is less than a 10 minute walk, you walk up through the dog walk throgh the wood and omly have to cross the road to get to the pub. Great carvery, good beer. Branscombe beach is a nice spot around 7 miles away. Beer is a similair distance. I wnt down the beer quarry caves, very good value at £7.50 an adult. All in all a nice little site. I am sure we will be using it again
Peaceful
We only booked in for one night as a stop over to Padstow. I was a little apprehensive after booking and reading the mixed reviews I would say that the pitches do seem a little smaller than other Caravan Club sites we didn't put our awning up but had we done it would have to the edge of the hard standing and we wouldn't have been able to use the front exits as we do normally. All the facilities have a slope leading to them. The pitches were pretty level. I have marked it 3 for Families but to be fair I cant really judge on this as we only had the overnight stop. We ate in the Hare & Hounds and as per previous reviews booking is advised however the staff will try their hardest to accommodate you.
Nice Place
Stayed at this site for 8 nights nice flat level pitches, toilet blocks were spotless and the site well looked after. Wardens very friendly and helpful and you can order fish and chips from them very nice to. The hare and hounds pub opposite is well worth a visit, the food is brilliant. All in all a good site to tour from and would recommend it, we will definitely stay here again.
Best showers yet
We made this our stop for looking around south Devon and found the proximity to Honiton excellent for access to shopping if needed. The pitches were all a good size and pretty level. The refurbished main toilet block is spacious clean and the best we have experienced in a Caravan Club site. There was a pleasant winding woodland dog walk which suited Willow our little schnoodle very well. The staff were also very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend anybody wanting a good location in South Devon to use Putts Corner
Wiggle Exmouth Exterminator
Travelled to Sidmouth for the "Exmouth Exterminator" ride organized by Wiggle, we arrived late after being stuck at Stonehenge on the A303 (M4/M5 will be our route next time!).... Wardens were really helpful, only grass/mud pitches were available but we were helped onto the pitch and because of lots more rain during our stay we were pulled out of the mud at the end of our stay. Enjoyed the Wiggle ride, lots of hills in Devon so lots of deep breaths! We visited the Donkey Sanctuary during our stay and recommend that for a fun/free day out, suitable for all ages..... Went to the pub opposite the site for a fantastic Sunday roast..... Look forward to our next visit.
